[A voice from behind the camera confirms this is apparently not a horror show, a quick turnaround does show--surprise--it's Botan.] Hello! My Rotom got a little too excited, but he was trying to say that it's seven days until St. Valentine's Day and there's a special offer going on with Honeyed Soul.

[For someone that has a couple of ghosts floating around, she seems quite cheerful, almost disarmingly so.]

I notice that some new people have come 'round lately, so if you don't know Honeyed Soul is my shop in Goldenrod, I specialize in sweets of all shapes and types. For the holiday specifically I'm offering a sale for people who might be interested in something custom for their sweethearts.

[A pause, she turns the camera over to a set of pink Pikachu-shaped cups of...parfait?]

[Small one spotted! Really if Botan weren't a genuinely nice person, she'd be fairly similar to the witch in Hansel and Gretel, but actually she just likes kids.]

Oh, it's just a little something I whipped up--I believe it can still be defined as a parfait since there's ice cream in there and it's layered in the same way. There's cake, ice cream, and strawberry flavoring all in a nice and compact cup form.

[Ah, this needs a slight adjustment in speaking--more plain, more 'splain.]

That's one style for a parfait, yes, other styles include gelatin--a jiggly semi-solid sweet--fruit, yogurt--smooth and creamy sweet, a bit like ice cream but more watery. As long as they're layered, it counts. Does that make sense?

Ice cream and cake is the perfect combination. Have you ever had an ice cream cake?

No, see, the ice cream is inside the cake. You would still put candles on the outer cake part, yes--but you don't have to have it be someone's birthday in order to have a cake, you can have a cake whenever you feel like.

[Because it makes people happy! (But still brush your teeth).]

That sounds....weird. Wouldn't the ice cream melt into the cake and make it gross and soggy?

And......I thought it had to be on someone's birthday to get cake.

[They didn't really have rations for cake or pre-made pre-packaged stuff that often.]

If you don't keep it cool, yes it would melt, as for making the cake soggy in a gross way not really, cake tends to hold its shape well with ice cream.

[She stops to consider for a moment, that can either mean this child had a particularly strict background or came from a place where necessity shortened rations. War? Something else?

Perhaps where you came from, but here you can do whatever you want. There's no short supply or anything stopping it.

I guess so. They have a lot more food here then we did. And most of ours was already made in packages.

I see. So then you've never seen someone making food, either? Cooking, baking, mixing?

My......mom would make food sometimes....but we didn't make enough stuff on the colony for that very much, so most of our food was in packages we got sent.

["Colony"--another thing she files away in the memory bank. Food in packages, her mother was with her at least, but not here because Arceus forbid he actually bring children with their guardians.]
