ACTION | VIOLET CITY GYM

[Anyone in the vicinity this morning will find Anna near the front doors, her team assembled in front of her, giving them...a pep talk? Her little hands are balled into fists, and she looks...extremely flustered as she paces back and forth in front of them.]

Alright, guys! Some of you were with me last time. I know this is scary, going back in there, but...there's a few things that I think are gonna help this time, so we don't have to suffer another, um...embarrassing defeat.

So! We've got Cheeks and Ginger— [She indicates the Pachirisu and Houndour, respectively] —heading up the lineup. Falkner's Pokémon are weak especially to Electric-types, so Cheeks is going to be our vanguard this time. And then, if, if either of them goes down, I have the rest of you to work together to take down that dang Pidgeot of his!

[The six Pokémon in front of her each give a nervous-sounding salute.]

Great! So let's...let's do this!

[She glances around the area in front of the Gym a little nervously. It's going to be doubly embarrassing if she loses again after that whole spiel...but hopefully nobody was eavesdropping.]


NETWORK | VIDEO

[Anna resurfaces an hour later, face shining and plastered with a big, goofy grin. She waves at the camera excitedly.]

Guess what! Go on, guess!

[She giggles, and then shakes her head.]

Okay, okay, I'll cut you some slack. Look!

[And she thrusts the Zephyrbadge in front of the camera triumphantly.]

I finally beat the first Gym! Suck on that, Falkner!!!

[A pause. Whoops. Chloe is really rubbing off on her.]

...Sorry. Haha.

[The little bird twitters and then immediately starts cheering and waving her pompoms around.]

[Anna cuts off with a delighted gasp and squeals, clapping her hands.]

Oh my gosh! She is so cute!

[The clapping just encourages RahRah Bird, who keeps up her chirpy little cheers and waves her pompoms around.]

Yes, she's an Oricorio. I don't train her or fight with her. Her job is to come to my gym battles and cheer us on.

She's amazing! She does a really good job of it, too!

[Anna grins.] My sister just sent me a Ghost-type Oricorio from Lavender Town and I already love him so much.

My friend Armin has one of the ghost types! They're really pretty.

[RahRah Bird chirps angrily at that and swats Jean with one of her pompoms.]

Not as pretty as you, though, RahRah.

[Thus placated, she starts cheering again.]

RahRah's mom was one of the red ones, so she was red at first too. But then she came with me when I was shopping one day and got into some Yellow Nectar. She seems a lot happier like this, though.

It seems like she really loves what she does!

She keeps asking for sisters, so they can make something called a squad and do better cheers at the gym.
