16th Run // Lovechildren for Sale

[ Oh god it's this guy again. Ash is kicking back in his chair, giving the camera a sheepish, yet relaxed look. Around him are several of his Pokemon; there's a Pumpkaboo in his lap and a Jigglypuff sat right beside him, with a Scyther stood by his chair with a Vivillon perched on the dull side of a his blade. A Cottonee is floating on some light breeze over the Jigglypuff, and a Dusclops is tending to a box full of Pokemon Eggs, sat safely on a table. ]

So! Valentines happened and all. I had a pretty good day, and it seems some of my Pokemon had a good Valentine's day too! So I've got some eggs for sale; Bladerunner and Étain are basically married, as you can tell- [ The Vivillon fluttered to the Scyther's shoulder, kissing his cheek. He turned his head a little to her, but clearly wasn't as open to public displays of affection. ] but the others I think are more friendship kids. But yeah there's these two, Psychopump and Jacob here- [ He put a hand on the Pumpkaboo in his lap and gestured to the Dusclops who was standing beside the eggs, making sure they were covered with blankets and secure, offering a wave. ] and Morrigan and David Bowie. [ At his name, the Jigglypuff drew himself up proudly and winked to the camera. The Cottonee on the other hand, floated over to Ash. Catching her eye, he nodded respectfully to her and she settled by his shoulder. ]

Oh, there's one more egg but the parents aren't here; Scuabtuinne and Ronan had one too! Scuabtuinne is my Lapras, she's amazing, and Ronan is my Brionne. He's a sweet lad! So if you're interested in any of em, let me know!

Yeah, I get it. But I've also had this thought... Pokemon are so amazing, you know? They can do all sorts of things that we could never dream of! But they still let themselves be captured, and they lives with us an are our friends when they probably don't have to. So it's like, who's really training who? They must think we're kinda squishy and useless compared to how much they can do!

I mean...if he's training me to just give him food and then piss off he's doing a good job of it I guess?

[ Forgive Ash, but he doesn't see the follow the line from 'I've got this Pokemon I'm trying to rehabilitate' and 'Maybe Pokemon are the real trainers'. So he's frowning in confusion. ]

But they ain't invincible, or Team Rocket wouldn't be able to do shit to them.

Ah... No, it's okay. I'm sorry. I guess that's sort of a stretch. [He was trying to infer the impact of Pokemon on more of a societal level, but it was obvious his thought wasn't developed enough to get across. He sheepishly lets it go.]

Yeah. Most Pokemon don't do mean things on their own, so the Rockets must be doing something cruel to get them to do what they say.

Well, also there's just what they do to Pokemon like Scuabtuinne. [ Ash sighed and shook his head ]

I've helped her out since she was more...timid, and scared. Bandit's way more volatile. Until I can actually like, hang out without him attacking, I don't know how I can help him.

I don't understand that at all. Why would anyone bully a Pokemon like that? [Well, why would anyone bully anything? It's a state of mind Kazuki has never occupied.] It's not accomplishing anything, it's just mean.

I don't know either. I've never known anyone like that... [What was the word again?] Someone who's been traumatized. You can keep being supportive, but it'll probably take a long time before they figure out that life can be good.

Dude, it's for money. Lapras are rare. You know about poachers back home, right? Those guys who'll hunt down the last rhinos just to kill them for their horns? It's the same thing man.

And yeah... [ He sighed ] I ain't gonna give up on him. I've just worried about him hurting someone else.

Seriously? So there's something valuable about their shells or something? That's terrible!

Something like that. [ He sighed ] Man...the place I found Bandit in though...they'll really use Pokemon in any way just to make money. It's so fucked up.
