I'm pretty sure I'm being stalked by a Pokemon.

[Oh hello to you too, Noctis.

He's frowning at his 'gear as he walks, a Chespin hanging over his shoulder and clearly scolding something behind them. He's very displeased with their stalker!]

I ran into a Zorua outside of Azalea Town--okay, well I thought it was a Chespin like Talcott but turns out it wasn't. It kept following us and messing with my Pokemon. I ended up catching it and trading it to someone in Violet City right before I warped to Mahogany Town.

[Here he stops walking and turns, tilting the 'gear so he can show what's behind him.

On the path is a rather smug looking fox, his tail flicking about in amusement.]

A week later and he's back.

[Noct turns the 'gear back towards himself, frowning.]

Suggestions? I'll try anything to get him to leave me alone.

If he's following you, perhaps he wants to join your team?

I would be fine with that if he would stop harassing everyone--including me. He keeps tricking members of my team and then taking their spot.

[Noct's getting really frustrated with it.]

I tried to play nice with him but he just keeps getting worse and worse.

Well, in the case, obviously you wouldn't want to reward that behavior, if that's what he's after... Do you think you can make it clear to him that he can only join you if he behaves himself?

[He frowns thoughtfully as Talcott shifts on his shoulder to peer curiously at the 'gear.]

I guess it's worth a shot...I just have a feeling it's all going to be an act no matter what.

Well, in that case, if it's necessary you could enforce proper behavior by limiting time as part of your main party. It's not necessary an ideal solution, but if no other consequences work...

*he won't advocate for simply perma-boxing a pokemon, but when one can only carry six at a time, being allowed extra time out can become a privilege, after all*

[Noct isn't fond of the idea but given how much of a shit this Zorua has been...

He pauses in his walking and glances back at said fox who just gives him an innocent look that can be briefly seen on camera.]

I guess it's worth a shot..

[Ultimately this little guy is too much like a certain someone for his liking but Noctis hates to judge a Pokemon based on ~~hobo trash uncles~~ chancellor asshole from home.]

Fair enough. It's not like I've got anything to lose.

Exactly. If it works, that would be ideal, but if it doesn't, you still have other things you could try.

Hopefully it just doesn't get to the point of him doing anything to hurt anyone before then.

Of course, though if all goes well perhaps he'll realize that may have the opposite of his desired response...

Ah...so he's like Hugie, then. I'd say let him join you, but keep a close eye on him.

I have a feeling he's going to keep it up no matter what, though, and the last thing I need is him switching into my active team when I don't need him there.

That's right! That's their specialty, being sneaky and transforming. You might want to see about talking it out with him and seeing if he can be reasoned with.

[He has a feeling that reasoning with this fox is going to be impossible given he's too much like his namesake for comfort but..]

I guess it can't hurt. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?

It's possible. But in that case, clearly I'm not lavishing Hughie with enough of it.

...That's not giving me much hope for a decent relationship with this Zorua.

I'm just resigning myself to the fact that this is going to be another handful of a Pokemon, that's all.

O-Oh. Well...I mean, even that's not so bad. I'll say that so far I have never encountered a truly bad Pokemon here, even if they cause trouble.

Now that you mention it, I guess I really haven't either...if pranks are the worst thing he's going to do, I guess it won't be so bad.

That's the spirit! And pranks aren't always a bad thing, either. Who knows, maybe you'll end up thick as thieves and pulling off pranks together.

That's the best attitude to have about it. I'm sure if you just give him a bit of time and an offering of friendship, it'll help heaps.

why would you want him to leave you alone? Sounds like an easy catch to me.

I already caught him, then I traded him because he was antagonizing my team.

[Especially his Gyarados and that's just not okay.]

Somehow he managed to get to Mahogany and I only realized he was here because my Lycanroc doesn't steal things.

[As he says it, Noct shoots a glare over his shoulder as the Zorua snickers.]

So he's causing trouble for you and your team. That's a little different. Have you tried contacting the trainer that you traded it to?

[That sounded like an obvious solution, so he's more or less expecting a 'duh' type of response there.]

Yeah and apparently she had no idea he had even disappeared--or how he ended up getting out of his Pokeball to begin with.

[Cue more snickering and Noctis rolls his eyes.]

I told her I'd send him back but I haven't been able to get him to stay in a Pokeball. Every time I try he breaks out and runs and then it takes me a bit to figure out who he's turned into this time.
