[With all the excitement of the strange monsters attacking, Maka all but disappeared onto the ferry and returned to the mainland, didn't she? Where in the world of Pokemon has she been?

Apparently, she's been in Violet City practically living in the library. Shouldn't she be challenging Falkner and moving on by now? Well...yes. But books take priority. The image of a very smug-looking Ribombee perched on the shelves is the first thing that comes on the feed, before it pans over to the book shelved next to it.]

"Carrie" by Stephen Kingler. Are you kidding me?

[Yep, that's Maka's voice, she pans the Gear over to the table where another book rests: "Call of Malamarlu and other short stories" by HP Luvdisc.]

From what I can see, they're super sanitized versions too. [Apparently in the time she's been absent, Maka has read all of these books she found.] And I still haven't found "Dark Side of the Moon." [That last part is more of a mutter to herself, from there she shuts off the feed and goes back to sorting through the shelves (probably rearranging things by alphabetical order and their proper call number just on instinct--what is with people and not putting things back where they go?)]

No, no they're not kidding you.

I mean, I'm not much of a book guy, but movies and TV shows are the same way.

[Which he's been noticing a lot lately, as he's spending a great deal of time lying on the couch in an unshaven, half-drunken stupor, staring at the TV.]

Don't get me wrong, I watch South Island Park regularly, but it's not quite the same.

Not that Maka has any interest in commenting on the habits of an adult, depending on her mood at least. It takes a second, but she does recognize the nice man who talked to her at the--er, "party."]

I don't know what the equivalent to that would be, sir, but let me guess--also toned way down and involves more Pokemon?

I dunno, I think Mr. Mimes are freaky as hell. I mean I wouldn't want to wake up in the middle of the night and see one of them hanging out at the foot of my bed.

Bad enough I got a Munna that does that.

I wouldn't really want to see anything hanging out at the foot of my bed in the dead of night. It was weird enough getting used to my Drampa wanting to cuddle up

[A giant dergan isn't really the best thing to see after waking up from a PTSD nightmare.]

I'm pretty used to my dog pokemon and the cat thing getting in bed with me, but they're like...pets. And they look pretty much like normal animals.

The freaky ones...when one of my girls left she left me her friggin Munna and almost every night I wake up and it's staring at me. It wants my soul.

I'm sorry about your daughter. [...And she looks mildly alarmed at the implication that a Pokemon would want to take someone's soul. There are some Pokemon rumored to take souls, but that can't be true, can it?] I think Munna mostly eat dreams. If they ate souls...they'd look a lot more twisted up, wouldn't they?
