3nd Soul | Video/action for Violet (library and city in general)
[With all the excitement of the strange monsters attacking, Maka all but disappeared onto the ferry and returned to the mainland, didn't she? Where in the world of Pokemon has she been?
Apparently, she's been in Violet City practically living in the library. Shouldn't she be challenging Falkner and moving on by now? Well...yes. But books take priority. The image of a very smug-looking Ribombee perched on the shelves is the first thing that comes on the feed, before it pans over to the book shelved next to it.]
"Carrie" by Stephen Kingler. Are you kidding me?
[Yep, that's Maka's voice, she pans the Gear over to the table where another book rests: "Call of Malamarlu and other short stories" by HP Luvdisc.]
From what I can see, they're super sanitized versions too. [Apparently in the time she's been absent, Maka has read all of these books she found.] And I still haven't found "Dark Side of the Moon." [That last part is more of a mutter to herself, from there she shuts off the feed and goes back to sorting through the shelves (probably rearranging things by alphabetical order and their proper call number just on instinct--what is with people and not putting things back where they go?)]

I actually get a lot of joy out of the Betty Crobat cookbooks, mostly because at least here, I know she's just a figurehead. Have you seen the books by J.K. Rowlet yet? Now those are some next level puns.

Not at all.]
Yeah, Harry Oshawotter is good and all, but my favorite series is Wailord of the Rings personally.

[Maka, as if you wouldn't engage in debates with people about literature if you were given the chance.]
I guess a world like this leaves more time for Mankey business.
[Sweet Death Jesus.]

[It's a bit tongue in cheek, as Jane knows she's very much a nerd in her own way. She gigglesnorts at that pun, though, that's excellent.]
Gracious, I'd be surprised if that wasn't a saying around here already!

I mean, I'm not much of a book guy, but movies and TV shows are the same way.
[Which he's been noticing a lot lately, as he's spending a great deal of time lying on the couch in an unshaven, half-drunken stupor, staring at the TV.]
Don't get me wrong, I watch South Island Park regularly, but it's not quite the same.

Not that Maka has any interest in commenting on the habits of an adult, depending on her mood at least. It takes a second, but she does recognize the nice man who talked to her at the--er, "party."]
I don't know what the equivalent to that would be, sir, but let me guess--also toned way down and involves more Pokemon?
no subject
The Pokemon stuff is pretty funny, at least.
no subject
Well. He's right, anyway, so there's no sense in arguing or questioning it.]
I guess. But the effect is a little different when you've got Pennywise the...Mr. Mime as opposed to the dancing clown.

Also full of puns, which I usually enjoy but sometimes I have to wonder if people are actually named that or if every writer here just took a pen name.
no subject
[Where does that leave...the men...do they...do they even have men.]
--Um, at any rate. I guess it doesn't matter that much if they're different, at least I can actually go some place to read without anyone bugging me.
no subject
[It's one of the many things he wonders about.]
The library is a good place for that. I'm a writer myself and I work part time in the library in Goldenrod.
What sort of books do you like to read?
no subject
Really?! You've written books before? [Maka, he asked you a question first--think before you shoot off into a flurry of your own.] Oh--um, I like mysteries! Going along with the detective and piecing together the clues with them before the big reveal is one of the best things about reading books like that!

[Shadowmaru you fucking troll.]

[Oh, the officer man was ribbing at her. That was sarcasm. Hilarious, cheeky fuck--reminds her of Soul.]
The moon has a face where I'm from and bleeds from its mouth. And that's the side I can see, not sure I want to see the actual dark side.
[Well then.]

My apologies for the current state of your world.

[Wait.
Wait.]
You mean there's sex in it. [It's a statement, not a question. She pauses for a moment as if mulling it over, then she wrinkles her nose.] Gross.
[Well at least nobody has to worry about this teenager reading 18+ material.]

[But in that case, it's a little boring, isn't it?]
I don't know why people wouldn't want to create more stories, though.

I never had any of the 'original' versions of the books they have here. So I guess these kinds have been all I know, and I'm had some fun with some of them!
[Harry Oshawotter's pretty good.]

[!!!]
I don't wanna sound like a snob, but...that kinda makes me sad. Some of this stuff is classic literature, I'd want anybody to have been able to read the originals.
[No, Maka, you're just a nerd.]
no subject
Ah... w-well, it's not all bad. I've gotten into some really nice books during the years I've been here. A friend of mine loved reading and introduced me to them. I know they're not the "real" ones, but I never had the originals even back home.
no subject
[Oh great, a nerd and a cutely positive nerd.]
