[The video starts pointed at the sand, then turns up, revealing the shore of Cianwood City. Whoever's holding the camera is reasonably far away from the actual water, though, and it quickly shifts lower to the mouth of a shiny Espeon.]

It's not something Thida knows how to do. But you are in luck, Johto and Kanto - VineWhip is an excellent app that is totally still a thing in this universe, and she's found something that keeps making her collapse into giggles with every viewing.

It's at this point where you're likely to notice the Octillery in the background, hyper focused on Thida, who pulls something out from off camera - a metal trash can lid. It looks fairly dented, and a little slick with...is that ink?]

[The Octillery perks up as Thida winds up the lid, almost like a frisbee.]

[And the lid is LAUNCHED into the air with all the strength a tiny teenage secret agent can muster, the "yeet" like a code word as Oku launches an Inkzooka towards the lid's trajectory, and - BAM, it hits the lid, pushing it further towards the shore until it lands in the surf, sticking out from the wet sand. Thida is cackling with glee, her grin genuine and wide, and the feed starts bounding towards her and bobbing around as Carbuncle joins her to celebrate, repeating "YEET" psychically so you all can hear their enthusiasm.

Arceus save us. The squid has found a meme.]

[It's been a while since he's had any reason to laugh like this, loudly, delightedly, and without reservation. Things have been, as Thida said, real sad for everybody, and Krieg's particular loss has been agonizing, without being the kind of agonizing that he actually likes. Which makes it hard to laugh. But, his friends and the monsters come through, as they always seem to, and...well, it feels good to finally laugh again.]

[Does he ever! Krieg hurries to meet her halfway, once she's retrieved the lid, excited and eager to participate in the Octillery's ink shooting target practice.]

[Lid is given! And Thida hurries out of the way of the surf, waving down Oku.]

[The Octillery trills, wiggling her tentacles to get into a steady stance.]

[You're darn right Krieg is all up in this hilarious meme business. He winds up, takes a moment to aim carefully (he knows Thida's leery around the water so he's not going to make the lid impossible to retrieve by flinging it out into the surf), and--]

[Oh hell yes, that is an excellent throw! More of a challenge to hit than Thida's. Still, Oku follows Krieg with her eyes, bracing herself in the sand, and when the lid goes up, she's aiming right where it should reach the apex of its arc, aaaaand...

BAM, an Inkzooka slams into one of the edges, sending it spinning off down the beach.]

[Aw, man, Oku, if you think this trash can lid throw is good, you should see what he can do with an axe!]

[Krieg's whoop of delight when the ink hits its mark is loud and exuberant, as if Oku's marksmanship is the most awesome thing he's ever seen.]

[Thida is definitely up for doing this stuff as many times as they can until everyone is worn out. She goes running down the beach for the lid, looking for all the world exactly like the kid she is. Oku, on the other hand, folds her front tentacles in front of her and watches patiently. She can wait.]
