Oh I hope I'm doing this right!

[That sure is a very large, very pink woman filling the gear screen. Entirely filling, she's holding it rather close to her face as she beams into it with an expression of pure wonder. Say hello to your newest trainer: Rose Quartz.]

It's just this is all so strange! I wasn't expecting any of this at all!

[Rose isn't entirely sure what she had been expecting. It wasn't the sort of thing a mind, even one like hers, could really conceive of. Mostly she'd had a general idea of...warm pink nothingness. A swirling emptiness, which didn't make any sense, because emptiness and nothingess weren't things that could actually be experienced.]

[Waking up in a cute little human house with a cute little human woman named Mom - what a funny name for a human! - was about as difficult to conceive. But here she was. And beyond the strangeness of finding herself here, still existing and entirely herself...she's entirely human! Really really human! And she's already made new friends, even though it feels like she's only been here for a few minutes. Even as a human - or maybe especially as a human - time was so strange.]

[But it's all so wonderful!]

[Finally pulling the gear back some, Rose smiles brightly. A red trainer's cap is perched atop her mountain of pink hair. While there's a great deal she doesn't know, she does know that this little communication device will let her talk to all the other people who live here. Or at least the ones like her, who weren't born to this planet. And how amazing to think that humans existed somewhere else! There was so much more to the universe than she'd ever imagined, and her knowledge and imagination were vast things.]

Hello, Pokemon and Trainers! It's so wonderful to meet you all! I'm Rose Quartz. I'm still not sure how I can even be here, but I'm so happy I am. This is such a beautiful world, I've seen so many new things already...

I can't wait to get to know you all and learn all about...everything!

After giving Rose a few pointers on her own Poke'Gear's functions, he was content to let her go to town and figure the rest out.

He was missing his own Gear. He supposed that he could ask Rose to borrow hers for a moment, to ask the world if his sister and best friends were still here but...there was a fear in the pit of his stomach gnawing at him like a Ratatta.

What did he fear more, the echo or the answer?

Instead, he forced the thought out of his head and watched Sword hack at some tall grass nearby.

"That was a great first broadcast. You've already got the hang of this, looks like."

"Do you really think so?"

Rose lowered her Gear and turned an eager face to Henry. She'd made recordings before, but using it as a communication system...how clever of humans to have developed it, too!

"I think it's fantastic that everyone can talk to everyone else with these little devices. The humans here must have all sorts of marvelous inventions!" If what she'd seen so far was anything to go by.

"M-hm," Henry nodded. "There's a lot to see here. Just be careful around garbage trucks and you'll be fine."

He'd never forget getting picked up with the trash...and how he met Flower. Oof, his chest. His encouraging little smile turned into a wince. Everything was reminding him of his team. With the jetlag and his fuzzy memory, it was hard. He'd just...forgotten them when he was home--all those memories. And they were here somewhere. How would they feel if they knew that?

"Do you have questions about anything else? Human society can be a little...overwhelming."

[Roxy had some time to kill, so when she saw a new person making their first video, like she'd done what had to only have been a week ago, she grinned and jumped, literally to her feet, as she replied with a video of her own. All but the hoothoot perched atop her head were startled, but only the shinx among them had the sense to immediately rebound and jump to her shoulder, forcing her to adjust as the electric cat settled herself across her shoulders, tail flicking every so often.

This didn't deter the enthusiasm or promptness of the start of the video, opening up on a blonde teens face with two pokemon on her person and woodland in the background.]

Hi Rose! I'm Roxy, but you can call me whatever you want, chances are I won't mind a bit. I just got here a few weeks ago and honestly I'm loving it here too, it's amazing.

[This woman had a lot of hair. Curly hair too. And it was pink, dear lord. First blue, now possibly natural pink hair too? Stay on track Roxy, you're doing well.]

What pokemon did you start with? I started with my shinx here, [Here she pointed to the cat on her shoulders.] who I named Neon. [Neon gave a meow in greeting, flicking her tail toward the camera once and letting it wrap entirely around Roxy's neck this time.]

I'm so happy to meet you, Roxy! I've only seen such a small part of it, but it's so...happy and bright and full of life...

What a lovely Pokemon! [Rose moves and sets the 'gear down, so she can step back and allow a view of something other than her in the screen. Particularly her Minior, the faint light showing through its shell a soft purplish pink.]

[That was a pokemon she hadn't seen before. Then again, Roxy corrected herself, there would be a lot of pokemon she hadn't seen or heard of before. Either way, Terra was absolutely adorable and this was a fact that Roxy was certain of, not just her mere opinion.]

Terra is just as adorable, and yeah, I can agree with you there. This place is just teeming with critters. [Somehow it's easy to forget what her land, and the lands of her friends, had been like. Compared to something like that, this was paradise. Roxy did have some tact though and decided not to ask.]

I'm in a similarly small part of this paradise boat there, Rosie, [Nicknames right from the getgo, huh Roxy? That was fast.]

[ Found in Titan Generated Crystal, which is much less fun than most other rocks. Also getting past what she counts as formalities with an introduction, but if it's what is being offered, best to give the same in return. Less remarkable that way.

The pink, though, is voluminous, and kind of distracting. As is the cheer, but at least "Rose" seems like an appropriate name for this woman. ]

No one seems to know exactly how any of us can be here, but here we are, regardless. You seem to be handling it well.

Welcome, Rose! I'm Matt, I work with the observatory down on the islands. It's actually really neat to see someone so excited. Most people are either scared or worried, or angry.
