Text Post Update from The Garrison Trio

[As promised, Pidge is putting up pictures of the little road trip that she, Lance, and Hunk have embarked on. It's a later update than she'd initially planned it to be, but better late than never, right? And in the interest of getting the news out to all of their friends (and Lance's friends, she doesn't even know who else that might include), Pidge makes them all available to the public.

There are photos as well as videos, and they're all absolutely ridiculous.

Posing with random objects that may or may not have been landmarks.
Hunk cooking over a campfire making a peace sign at the camera.
A bedtime selfie of the three of them all made up and wearing Lance's beauty masks.
Challenging each other to a hot sauce competition (which Pidge utterly lost, face red and tears in her eyes).
Singing songs with helium balloons.
Lance holding an impromptu "fashion show" with Pokémon themed outfits, Hunk cheering him on enthusiastically in the background.
Messing around with some of the Jennies.
Running from the Jennies.
A clip of the three of them playing Chubby Bunny.
A shot of Lance and Hunk leaning on each other, asleep and drooling.
Hunk giving a sleeping Pidge a piggy-back ride.
A selfie of Pidge while Lance gives her a pedicure and Hunk brushes her hair.
Clips of Lance twerking on the back of a bicycle (Hunk frets to the side and Pidge snort-laughs while recording).
And also of him dancing while keeping up with a moving bicycle.
...and a lot more.

There's a lot. Over the last several weeks, these three have been up to complete and utter shenanigans. But, as their friends can no doubt tell from the pictures, they're doing well and having a great time.

These are Shiro's kids. Teenagers being teenagers. Welcome to Team Voltron.]

I'm not helping with the titans. Dealing with what they do... no. I was too selfish for that. I wanted to survive, so I went to the interior with the Military Police. Only the best of the best have that option, which means by extension our best trainees are also the soldiers furthest from the fighting. Very logical from the standpoint of the people in power.

[ She continues to find that about as funny as a pyre, but in a dark sense, it'll always be amusing how power protects itself with the best and sacrifices everyone else first. ]

The Southern Division of the 104th is the biggest exception to that trend. Of our surviving top ten trainees, eight went into the Survey Corps. One died, and then there was me.

I don't mind. It just seems pointless to horrify people who will never need to experience that reality. Places like this, where the fears people have are a little less targeted, are nice. Even with all the stories behind ghost types.
lyingheart: anonsanta, let me know who to credit! (er... | just because it burns)

You don't stop being on edge, and you don't settle in to the things most people seem to take for granted. I can't trust peace, or that people aren't being shitty liars somewhere I just can't see yet. I'd guess trusting it will only come with time, looking at the examples others have set from home, if I have enough of it.

Food is the next most baffling thing. The variety, the spices, the cafes that produce meals in short turn around, the sheer amounts of sweets... These aren't bad things at all, but they're overwhelming.

[ hahahahahahahahaha ]

Ah, I wouldn't say we're exactly teammates. And nothing like what you, Lance, and Hunk are. We trained together, yes, but I'm not particularly close with anyone here. It's more an ease of knowing people... can adapt to this, I guess.

[ bold of you to assume she has open teammates, pidge

welcome to the lone wolf of the 104th

There's no real alternative.

Either way, thanks.

... Thank you.

[ For all she believes it has nothing to do with luck one way or another, it's the polite social standard to say thank you when wished well. ]

Same to you three on your travels.

[ ... Good conversation Pidge, would converse again! ]
