[Good evening, Pokéland, it's time for the evening news! A serious-looking journalist behind seated behind a studio desk looks directly into the camera to share this bit of information with the community:]

And now, in local news: Two unidentified individuals were arrested for brawling in public earlier today in the streets of Violet Town. We advise viewer caution, as the contents of this video might be upsetting to some.

[The news feed cuts to a shaky phone vid. The audio is muffled at first, but then what is likely a familiar voice to quite a few folks shouts very clearly: "I LOVE IT WHEN YOU BLEED AT ME!"

Then the camera manages to shake the unlikely pair of brawlers into view. One is probably average-sized, slender, with a bare, tattoo'd left arm and short, blue hair. The other is not wearing any sort of shirt even though it's very cold out, and is also built like a tank. Also his face is covered with a weird mask that has a hose attached? It's weird. It's difficult to tell because they're both moving so fast, but he likely has a good foot of height on the woman he's fighting.

"Just. Give. UP!"

The big beef boy is throwing a lot of very heavy, fatal-looking punches that she mostly manages to dodge, though he does get a couple of good hits in. She seems more than equal to taking the hits, though, and actually mostly manages to use the momentum of his large, muscley body against him and to her own advantage on many occasions, twisting one of his arms around behind his back, or snaking a foot out to trip or unbalance him, and even just flipping him right over her shoulder to land with a very loud and very painful-sounding THUD right on his back in the street.

"THANKS FOR THE FACE PAIN!!"

"This is the power of a siren!"]

[The video goes on like that for about thirty seconds before switching back to the newsroom. The serious-looking reporter appears rather ruffled after having witnessed such violence.]

Terrifying! The local Jennies have assured the press that these two violent individuals are now being held safely and securely in the Violet Town jail.

[And then it's on to other news, which isn't going to be written about or detailed as it's not relevant to the street brawl.]

[It had been a great fight, cut tragically too short by the world's authorities. In hindsight, waiting until they'd gotten out of town to start ripping into each other would have likely ended better, but...well, they both hate waiting.]

It's not fair that the monsters get to have all the fun!

[He can't even breathe fire here, and she can't do her Phaselock. What even are these people so scared of?]

They've probably spent so much time letting monsters fight for them, they don't realize it is fun. Just direct the fights, don't get their hands dirty.

Oh yeah? Guess I can still fight without my powers.

[Vault hunters have strange friendships. Also she's actually starting to accept the no powers thing isn't as bad as she thought, so that's good.]

[It feels a little surprising to be able to laugh, but also...surprisingly good. Which shouldn't be that much of a surprise, honestly. It's Maya. Of course she can make him feel better when nothing else can.]

You've got a killer right hook!

[His laugh causes her to laugh as well. This entire thing has been a mess but sort of worked and how did it take them getting off Pandora for them to be locked in jail. Aside from Pandora being shoot on sight.]

Thanks. Though it's easier to trip you up. You should watch out for that.

[Yeah sure they don't have to fight here but what's the point in fighting if they don't get better at it?]

Pfff, yeah, the Murder Chicken knocks me flat a lot, too.

[Maybe he should stop being so dang top heavy. Maybe actually do a leg day for once.

Buuuuuut, on the other hand, it really hurts when he gets slammed onto his back, so like...maybe he won't watch out as much as he could.]

We should go back to Sugar's place so you can meet the Muscle Cats.

[Unspoken but implied: And also fight them.]

And I promised the Squid Girl I'd help her learn to swim.

That sounds like a good plan.

How many cats are there?

[She's going to end up fighting giant pokemon cats. It is her fate...and also sounds fun.]

You're teaching someone to swim?

[Yeah this place has been really good for you Krieg.]

There's three! Knives has a baby cat but I don't know if he wants it to grow up.

[Maybe it's evolved since the last time he saw it, who knows.]

Yeah! The Squid Girl. I guess water melts people where she's from? So she never learned! But she's not gonna melt here so she can learn how now.

Well, that sounds like a good reason to not learn to swim there....I wonder what they drink?

[It's amazing how worlds can sound crazy when you compare them to even Pandora.]

Learning here sounds like a good plan at least.

[If you're around water it's probably good to know how to not die in it.]

This place is good for a lot of things.

Yeah.

[It is and that's good. And it's also a reminder of how Angel doesn't get that anymore so she's going to change gear quickly because she doesn't want to think about it.]

I didn't think I'd get attached to the creatures here so quickly.

...The monsters here are really good.

[They're all friend-shaped.

Like Dolly. He's here too, chilling like a little lump in Krieg's lap. The only reason he's here is because of the fuss he made when they tried to take him away from Krieg.]

Also would have made it really easy to break out of here if we still had them all.

[Not that a night is so long she feels she has to. But still. All this over a fight?]

Pfffffff! Yeah! The Iron Skull would've bulldozed the wall down in a second!

And then ate it!

[Because that's how Skully rolls. Waste not, want not!]

Now that would have been interesting to see.

[Eat the evidence. I mean the hole in the wall would be evidence as well but still.]

I don't think mine could take down a wall just yet. But I bet the Klefki could nab a key. Even if she doesn't like newer looking ones that much.

If you wanna watch her eat, come with us to the scrap yard!

[They don't go to the scrap yard super often because it's kind of expensive, and Skully seems to do just fine eating regular food, but he tries to take her every month or so as a special treat.]

Maybe yours could teach the Zen Doll how to steal keys. I bet he wouldn't care if it was old or new.

[Dolly, hearing his name, opens his one eye to look quietly up at Krieg. Surely he's kidding. Dolly could never take something that doesn't belong to him!]

[Maya glances down at the pokemon.]

I don't think your pokemon seems that interested in stealing keys.

[He tilts his head to one side at Maya's statement, and then looks down at Dolly. Their eyes meet, and Krieg snorts, then giggles, then full-out laughs.]

PfffmnahahahahahAHAHA!! You're right. You're super right!

[Dolly, more than used to these kinds of unnerving noises from Krieg, blinks peacefully and settles back down to go back to his nap.]
