18th Match // Video// Violet Town
[Good evening, Pokéland, it's time for the evening news! A serious-looking journalist behind seated behind a studio desk looks directly into the camera to share this bit of information with the community:]
And now, in local news: Two unidentified individuals were arrested for brawling in public earlier today in the streets of Violet Town. We advise viewer caution, as the contents of this video might be upsetting to some.
[The news feed cuts to a shaky phone vid. The audio is muffled at first, but then what is likely a familiar voice to quite a few folks shouts very clearly: "I LOVE IT WHEN YOU BLEED AT ME!"
Then the camera manages to shake the unlikely pair of brawlers into view. One is probably average-sized, slender, with a bare, tattoo'd left arm and short, blue hair. The other is not wearing any sort of shirt even though it's very cold out, and is also built like a tank. Also his face is covered with a weird mask that has a hose attached? It's weird. It's difficult to tell because they're both moving so fast, but he likely has a good foot of height on the woman he's fighting.
"Just. Give. UP!"
The big beef boy is throwing a lot of very heavy, fatal-looking punches that she mostly manages to dodge, though he does get a couple of good hits in. She seems more than equal to taking the hits, though, and actually mostly manages to use the momentum of his large, muscley body against him and to her own advantage on many occasions, twisting one of his arms around behind his back, or snaking a foot out to trip or unbalance him, and even just flipping him right over her shoulder to land with a very loud and very painful-sounding THUD right on his back in the street.
"THANKS FOR THE FACE PAIN!!"
"This is the power of a siren!"]
[The video goes on like that for about thirty seconds before switching back to the newsroom. The serious-looking reporter appears rather ruffled after having witnessed such violence.]
Terrifying! The local Jennies have assured the press that these two violent individuals are now being held safely and securely in the Violet Town jail.
[And then it's on to other news, which isn't going to be written about or detailed as it's not relevant to the street brawl.]
[ooc: If anybody wants to check in with Maya and Krieg, they can be contacted in jail via this post!]

video for Maya
Maya, it's Connor. The man you spoke to in Jack's body. That seemed like quite the fight. Are you okay?
video
Nice to actually meet you.
And I'm fine. Apparently this place doesn't know the difference between a friendly fight between friends and something worth getting involved in. Or they just don't care and it's more of the only pokemon can fight thing.
no subject
It's nice to meet you properly, yes.
[That was a fight between friends?]
You were really going for each other. I can understand why it would scare the locals.
[He pauses.]
But... you know, you're pretty good. I'm not bad in a fight myself, but I wouldn't want to get rusty. Would you want to practice with me sometime?
[He's completely strayed from his original point of contacting her, but he'll get to it.]

I thought you two were friends?
Video
Thanks.
Friends? Yeah of course we are. We were sparring and apparently the people in charge in a world where giant monsters fight in the middle of the street, had a "problem" with that.
[This place confuses her.]
Re: Video
At least they won't hold you for long probably.
It's best to either do it at night where you can run away before they find you, or do it out int he wild. You might still have to run but at least the response time might be slower?

Video To Krieg
[Hank's own cop inclinations are, well, if people aren't hurting anyone and they're having fun? Then let them. And he knows Krieg needs this kind of fun in his life.]
This a celebration or something else?
video;
Nothing else!
[Since he's been forced to stop fighting, the adrenaline is gone and despair has settled in and it's 100% audible in his voice.]
The sun is gone, snuffed out and stolen back to the void, cold and breathless and dark! No more laughter, no more picnics, no more slumber parties, just death death death DEATH DEATH! DEATH!!
no subject
Okay, okay. How about less death, because that's a lot of death, and more you telling me what's going on.
Do they have a bail system here? Do you need someone to come down there to get you? [Because, hey, he's offering, and he can't imagine Krieg would want to legit hurt anyone that didn't want to fight or didn't fuckin' ask for it in some way.]

[Yeah guess who recognized her buddy on the news. Thida, for her part, is still sort of bouncing around on Four Island, waiting for him to let her know he's back, but. If he's in the jail, it might be a while, right?]
Didja make a new friend?
[Thida that is not how you make - well, no, for both you and Krieg, fighting can equal friendship.]
[That is, simply enough, an answer to both of her questions.
He'll only expand on the second one, though.]
She's my first friend!!
[Fighting is totally the best way to make friends; this is why Krieg and Thida get each other.]
[But if Krieg isn't okay...]
How long y'gotta be in jail?

video to both;
Not that that means Armin didn't nearly inhale his entire cup of tea when he saw that news report, but still, it was always within the realm of possibilities. Part of him had hoped that miss Maya would've been able to be another calming influence on Krieg though. Apparently not.]
Somehow I feel I should be more shocked. [mother is not mad, he is disappointed.] What happened?
video
They sent Angel back.
[She is not trying to shove down emotions because...no she totally is. Anger, grief. She hates all of this.]
She's dead again. Krieg and I decided to spar because why not and apparently this place has never seen people fight before.
[Probably not at this level. But yeah....there's a reason this happened.]
video
[Whatever annoyance he might have felt at them ending up in jail evaporates at those words. He's been so busy making preparations for his trip, making sure he has packed the right clothes and equipment, making sure the Lapras will be taken care of in his absence (they mostly take care of themselves, but he worries) that he hadn't even noticed that. Not that he has to double-check, not in this situation. If Maya says Angel is gone, then she is gone.]
Things are different in this world. Most likely they didn't even realise you two were friends when they took you in.
[Because friends don't physically fight here unless it is highly structured in dojos.]
And... it's no guarantee, but Angel came back before. Maybe she will do it again.

Action for Krieg
It had been working so well until the cops showed up.]
For a world that runs on animals fights, they are really, pathetically scared of actual fights here.
[Let's just....focus on that, instead of other things.]
no subject
It's not fair that the monsters get to have all the fun!
[He can't even breathe fire here, and she can't do her Phaselock. What even are these people so scared of?]
I think you broke my nose.

action; at some point in the middle of the night
[Yeah, that's right, it's ya boi, Jean.]
[He waits until the middle of the night, when everything is quiet and peaceful in Violet Town. The silence is disturbed by the faint whining of machinery, but it's not as loud and grinding as it normally is; Jean spent the afternoon oiling up FCAB's gears, so it's in Stealth Mode. Or as stealth mode as a walking train car can be.]
[The coffee shop walks right up to the jail, big and looming and completely nonchalant. If anyone is awake and watching, it might look like it's going to park in front of the police station and open there the next morning. Is there a new Starmiebucks in the station lobby? Is that what this is all about?]
[Clearly not, as the shop lines itself up very carefully, rears one leg back, and kicks the shit out of the station wall.]
[Don't worry, everyone, he saw a titan do this once.]
[The wall crumbles, and Jean leaps off the roof of FCAB; he's wearing his maneuver gear and glides down to the hole he just made in the wall.]
JAIL BREAAAAAAAAAAAK!
[Hi, Krieg and Maya. Jean is here to pick you up.]
action
All of that is for nothing, however, with the sudden disappearance of the jail room wall and the equally sudden appearance of--]

Though, seeing the strange woman give back as good as she's getting it is new. Hearing that they've been arrested, well, that is absolutely new and not something Sasha can stand sitting down. Or stand standing up. She's already scrambling for her many little stashes of Pokedollars hidden in her bedroom, mostly set aside for food, but Krieg is more important than a quadruple cheeseburger with extra bacon and onions and a Giganto sized fries.]
Mr. Krieg! Are you okay? Do you need money to pay the Jennies? I have some saved up you can have!
» video
I'm okay! They're letting us out tomorrow! Don't waste your snack money!
[He's not worth itttt and also it is very important to him that she always have money for snacks. 8(]

Well.
Honestly she's more surprised it took so long for this to happen.]
Someone's going to come bail you out, I'm sure. Want a cake sent over while you wait? I can make a red velvet.
That's enough to distract Krieg from being a big sad boy (for the moment, at least) - his response when it comes is the usual mask-to-screen closeup Botan has no doubt grown used to.]
Can you send it overnight? They're letting us out tomorrow!
