second chord ♪ video

C'mon, big guy-- Up!

[The video isn't pointing at anything right away, but there's a pair of small, green hands adorned with little red claws clicking and clacking at the lens for a few moments. After a good thirty seconds or so, it finally starts to turn over, displaying a shot of Demyx... hauling something? Whatever it is, it's only visible for a split second and it's bright orange before a Lombre's face takes up the whole screen.

Suddenly it grins - it figured it out! It got the thing to work! The light is even blinking! Yes!

Trilling in triumph, it appears to bounce in place with a wide grin, and it makes some strange noises as if it's trying to speak. Unfortunately because it's a Pokemon, it only succeeds in saying it's own name and various croaks, clicks and gurgles. It doesn't matter though, because as soon as it appears to be done speaking?

It turns it around to show Demyx with a Magikarp in his arms facing down with a Spearow just outside of Azalea where it meets Route 33.]

Okay! Just like we've been doing, Mrs. Robinson! One, two--

[The Magikarp appears to puff itself up and gets a serious look on its face.]

Three!

[Suddenly Demyx throws the Pokemon as hard as he can in the direction of the Spearow - TACKLE IT, MRS. ROBINSON! - eliciting the Magikarp equivalent of a battle cry. As it sails through the air towards the intended target, it suddenly begins to glow bright and starts getting bigger and bigger. And longer. And the once-strange war cry of the Magikarp turns into a loud bellow as the light disappears and a massive blue serpent appears and...

lands the Tackle on the Spearow who clearly wasn't expecting it. One hit K.O.!

For a moment all parties are silent, and then the Lombre drops the camera in shock as Demyx lets out a loud whoop off-screen.]

That was AWESOME! Oh my god! Look at you! You're so freakin' huge! I can't beli--

[The feed suddenly cuts out, most likely from the Lombre scrambling to pick the Pokegear back up off the ground.

Uh... Welcome to Magikarp Training 101?]

It is the same way for everyone. Somehow, everybody who arrives here either becomes human if they are not, or loses any powers they have beyond those of an ordinary person.

There isn't a way to permanently get them back, but there are these strange weekends sometimes. I don't have any powers back home, so I can't say if it happens each time, but I have heard of people temporarily regaining their powers or normal appearance during those weekends. I mean, the people who have been turned human on their arrival here. Sometimes people even find things from home or meet people who aren't normally in this world.

A friend of mine even met... well, he met himself. But not, exactly himself. It was a him who had lived a slightly different life.

I'm not really sure what a sitar is, but I've never heard of anyone being able to keep something after those weekends, sorry. Though we have received items from home before too. Usually as a reward or at a celebration. Those tend to be small though.

[And god only know if this... sitar is a small thing or not.]

[That is... a lot bigger than Armin was expecting.]

I don't think I've ever heard about someone receiving something that large. The largest I ever got was a book.

Well, when it comes to receiving things from home, yes. I mean, the very fact that we are sometimes gifted something from our own world is already pretty amazing. I don't think we should look any gift horses in the mouth.

But, uhm. I don't really know anything about instruments, but they do have a lot of different ones here. Wouldn't it be possible to save for a new one?
