--Oh, hey, it records!

[There's a pale, black-haired young woman on the network today, inspecting her new 'Gear. She has a little Noibat chilling in her mass of hair like an adorable bat-shaped barrette. She studies the Pokegear seriously for a moment or two before noticing something else:]

Oh snap, and it broadcasts! Sweet!

Hey! Barkeep guy! You were right, that Mom lady was really weird! She gave me a lot of snacks, though, so that's cool.

But, uh, I kind of. Already ate them all? Look, I got carried away, okay? Does anyone know if there's anything else to eat on, what is it, Route 29? Besides the berries, I mean. My girl here - [she gestures to her new Noibat pal] - really digs them buuuuuut I still think they seem kinda suspect. For me to eat, that is. Thanks, peeps!

Welcome to Johto, and yeah, don't eat the berries. They're meant for Pokemon which is weird because a kid that was just here this weekend was eating them just fine when I passed him by and he didn't look any worse for wear. But then I saw this same kid whip out some kind of super move after posing like a sentai member and annihilate three trainers in a row, so I'm gonna just let that slide.

I'll wire a starter kit to you if you need it. Any special dietary needs that don't border on things we can't get locally? It'll have clothing, food, and money.

[An audible grumble can be heard from the direction of Marceline's stomach, and she blanches a bit.]

I can have it delivered to you via Pidgey Delivery Service. It's no big deal. Just feed it a berry when it arrives, so that it'll give you the package when it arrives.

Yeah, though did you get a raincoat with your starter kit? Most people don't get those and we're getting close to rainy days.

Food is a need though.

[She sets the 'Gear aside momentarily to rummage through the backpack she got from "Mom". When she picks it up again, she's holding up a dark grey hoodie in the other hand.]

It's Yayoi, Yayoi Kise. I've been here for a few years already so I know how newcomers need some guidance on how things work here.

Okay, I'll get you a raincoat. It might be mostly sunny here, but it may rain a few days. Beach days are coming, but it might have a few stormy days for travel in different parts of the two regions.

...Honestly, the food is more than enough. I've been rained on before, I promise it's not a big deal.

All right, well, there'll be more stuff if you need it. Tinned stuff and a can opener okay? Or did you need some rice too, or do you know how to cook that? It's good for the road and there should be camping stuff in your starter bag.

Uhhh, you know, it's been a really long times since I cooked anything. Maybe hold off on the rice until I get to somewhere that has an actual stove I can use to remind myself. Canned stuff is totally fine for camping out.

Not a problem. There's shopping centers in each area, and trainers you can Pokemon Battle with Forfeits by the way, to start your journey if you need income. You can also get work, but the trainer life is also a lot of fun.

So like, your basic RPG experience as long as you play by the rules, right? We can definitely swing that!

[She looks up and to the side, including the Noibat clinging to the side of her had in that statement.]

And I'll try to feel slightly less bad about beating up the kids who want to fight me out here, since apparently that's what they're out here for.

Yeah. There's checkpoints aka Gym Battles. They're tough, so leveling up your Pokemon with training and battles is the way to go there.

There's people of all ages, so don't worry too much. Everyone's on a Pokemon journey here in some form or another.

Yeah there's several good places in Cherrygrove. I'll send you some addresses but I recommend the Flowerhat Cafe.

Man, thanks so much for the info, seriously. I got a little taste of everything, uh...was it just last weekend? But I had no idea if I was actually going to stick around or not, so I didn't really pay that much attention.

Yeah that happens. You come here, stick around a little, come back... I know a girl named Lillie who comes here every weekend it happens and she never sticks. I can't remember her face ever but like, it's clear as mud when she does?

Sometimes I can remember people here when they do show up from weekends, sometimes not. Sometimes I'm too busy to see them off, but I try to make time. This weekend I wasn't busy either so this was a Good Weekend for talking to people and making new friends.

Aww. Well, I'm sorry I missed you this weekend, but I'm glad I caught you now!

...Honestly it's probably better this way anyway, 'cos now it looks like I'll be here for a little while, at least.

Yeah, it's great we can meet. And hey, I'll see you on the road sometime since I'm traveling again.

It's a lot of fun here really, and it never really gets old at all. There's lots to see and do. I'm still taking on Gyms once in a while. We're getting close to Viridian City after all. I should challenge Blue soon.
