So, crisis over, thanks to Kazuki who found Magneton for me. Kaz, I owe you big time for this, thanks for finding Magneton and watching him for me until I got there. You're the best.
That being said, I guess I'm going to backtrack since I kinda-sorta left Sasami in Viridian so I'll be heading back there, thank god for Pokecenter ports.
[She breathes a little, calming her nerves a bit, looking a bit out of place but then smiles.]
Thanks everyone for looking out for the kids. I have another favor to ask. I need to make a shopping trip to the two department stores for a couple of days real quickly before I return, so can someone check in on Sasami for me before I return? I'm letting her know now, but... I've decided that when we arrive in Pewter, I'm going to take on Brock.
At the Elite Level.
With no potions or revives.
Call me crazy, and I know my team is 99% Electric but... This is a challenge that I've been dreading since I got here. But after this, I feel like, since Magneton went out of his way to train, to not disappoint me? I need to not disappoint the kids and prepare THEM with some TMs and extra preparation. I can't be throwing potion after potion on them to push it through the challenge, that's disrespectful to the challenge. So...
The challenge will be issued in, maybe 2 weeks time, so if anyone wants to come out and see it first hand, we'll be in Pewter by then, since I intend to let Sasami go first.
Thanks.

[It sounds like a weird challenge but to each their own.]
Do you think your team will be able to manage it, even with the limitations?
Re: Video;
[Yayoi sighs a little, rubbing her eyes a bit.] I've grown out of shape, too complacent with my life and, I guess I'm no longer the girl I used to be. I know that sounds silly but like, when I first arrived here, I was all about the trainer life, getting lost, going off the beaten path...
Now I don't know.

Re: video;
It's kind of crazy but...
I feel like I've lost the drive that was pushing me to keep improving.
I need to find it again.
[A sigh.]
I was a shounen hero protagonist... in a girls anime ensemble setting in the loosest sense. My way of expressing my energy was drawing, and then punching things and screaming my feelings through literal attack phrases.
It's a life that's driving my head back into place again and I'm starting to feel it stir again, like the thought of challenging Brock is stirring up old emotions again.
Re: video;
Is there a reason you don't always have access to these memories?
And it might be simplistic but I find that having a goal...however vague it was, helped me continue to push forward in improving.

That's quite the challenge, but I think you can do it. I understand that Brock uses Rock type Pokemon, but he's sure to have ground moves too. Magnet Rise should help, if your Magneton knows it.
Re: video
Still thinking of what else to get.

[Connor would go with Magnet Rise and then some powerful Steel type moves if he had to.]

To regain something I've lost in the process of finding myself again.

Re: [video]
But if my vague memory reminds me, I do my best work under pressure after all.

[He pauses, fighting back a wince. That's... a tough call. Definitely a good challenge, but hmm...]
Okay, before I say anything else- any of your team know Magnet Rise? Besides the Magneton. If not, I'd look for that tutor. Trust me, it'll save you a million headaches. Otherwise... hmm. Curious what kinda strategies you're shooting for.
[Paralysis, maybe? Clever use of dual types? This could be interesting.]
Re: video
I've got dual types in my party, Rock-Electric, Electric-Dragon for Mega Ampharos but I don't want to rely on her as the center of my party unless there's a real strategy between everything. Pikachu, my Raichu is a Alolan so she's got Psychic attacks.
video
[Shoot. And there are definitely Pokemon at his disposal who could use it. Most rock types, even. Riku grimaces at the thought. She's absolutely right about thinking bigger.]
You're gonna wanna protect that Rock type for sure, but I'm sure you know that. Psychic attacks aren't a bad start, but if it were me, I'd abuse the heck out of Double Team and lay on Paralysis. Been a while since I did his Elite Team, but...
[Man, what'd Riku even do?]
Shoot, you might wanna keep an eye out for Stealth Rock while you're at it.
Re: video
Getting a refresh and recharge is nice and all but something about me tells me that he's just like a guy I knew about back when I was young. An amazing, straight-forward battle I think is what I need to clear my head and regain what I lost in the last ten years.

And you're gonna do it without any of those?
Re: video;
It's sort of an "opposites" thing, because I never really realized just how opposed we are really style wise but we're so alike.

Anyone will tell you it's far easier to devoted time to a subject you have an interest it. And in a place such as this where it's easy to get tied up in its melancholy nature, it's good to have drive and goals.
Re: Video
Yeah... you have that right. I spent a lot of time working on a manga back home as a professional artist and writer so I know that feeling.
