CAMP ALPHA: for everyone who wanted a crossover between summercamp and Ghost Adventures

Who: Everyone who came to Camp Alph
Where: The Ruins of Alph
When: July 18th-21st

For part 2 of the event, there will be a second log to keep the ensuing seance situation separate from the all-purpose ruin-exploration adventures. Participation in part 2 will be entirely voluntary, so feel free to tag on part 1 as long as you like! For more information about this event, check out the info post over here!
Rating: PG-13
Log:

Been to the Ruins of Alph before? Are you an old hat at this stuff? Well turn everything you thought you knew UPSIDE DOWN because EVERYTHING. IS DIFFERENT NOW.

… Or at least, that’s what the flyers being passed out under a canopy of cheap Celebi balloons that are bobbing around in the breeze say.

One thing’s for sure, there sure are a lot more tents than normal. By the time most of you casuals get there, the entire picnicking area, usually quite spacious, has been turned into a small tent city. And the excited atmosphere is palpable.

The crackle of the Ruin Rangers’ walkie-talkies mingles with that of the ghost-hunting equipment toted around by excited Hex Maniacs, burbling Unown are drifting here and there to blink curiously at all the new people and Pokemon suddenly on their turf, and chatter from Legend Seekers of all ages (really, of ALL ages-- everyone from Youngsters to Veterans have apparently been swept up in the Seeker-mania!) rings out as stories and speculations are swapped.

There’s lots to do, plenty to explore, and (according to word on the grapevine), more than enough spooky rituals to perform once the night falls.

Will you solve some tile puzzles and fall into an underground chamber? Stick to the main group and make s’mores? Befriend a floating letter (or twenty-four)? Go directly against the advice of the tired-looking Rangers and play One Man Hide-and-Seek in the dark?

Or, most importantly, will you start a small-scale riot in order to keep the loud static boxes away from the tents where you’re trying to sleep?

HEY, at least you got a leg up on the rest of us as we age...

[Heather bends down to scoop up the pup, but Ginger successfully skitters out of the way, keeping a wary eye on Riku's approach as well. NO HUMANS SHE MUST FIGHT!! She hops around and playbows, curly tail wagging furiously.]

[She's with Zen! NO FOE TO LARGE OR SMALL! C'MON!! She rumbles a tiny little puppy growl at the two Nidokings for good measure. WHAT ARE YA, WEENIES?!]

Forgive the runt, she's... rowdy.

Five days after hatching she was running around on the Plateau trying to fight peoples' Elite teams.

Man, now there's a scary thought. Growing old in this place.

[He averts his eyes for a moment. It wouldn't have been so bad if a certain someone was still with him... But that ship sailed a while ago.

Shaking his head, Riku shoves those thoughts deep, deep down.

Luckily, Zen's bravado provides a welcome distraction as she squirts more water into the air. AW YEAH!!!! She likes this pup! Got spunk.

Riku can't help but chuckle at Heather's comment.]

Geez. That's impressive, but how'd they even take it?

[Not all Pokemon take well to anklebiters.]
foolishwren: who will shave their head while i shave mine and then hotglue the hair to the roof with me so that the roof has hair (i want someone to sit on the roof with)

Scary?

I mean, growing old in general is kinda scary...

[Personally, she'd rather do it here than anywhere else... but the way he looks aside makes her think twice about mentioning that.]

[It is, after all, fairly reasonable to feel differently.]

[She won't push that topic. Especially not on someone who's been here for basically as long as she has.]

Oh, it was fine... seemed like most of the folks who'd reached that point had their shit together and could trust their Pokemon not to like... pick her up and throw her off the Plateau like a football.

[She emphasizes this by reaching down to scoop the pup up and give her a playful little shake, which is responded to by a positively delighted growl and lots of puppy-biting.]
