Been to the Ruins of Alph before? Are you an old hat at this stuff? Well turn everything you thought you knew UPSIDE DOWN because EVERYTHING. IS DIFFERENT NOW.

… Or at least, that’s what the flyers being passed out under a canopy of cheap Celebi balloons that are bobbing around in the breeze say.

One thing’s for sure, there sure are a lot more tents than normal. By the time most of you casuals get there, the entire picnicking area, usually quite spacious, has been turned into a small tent city. And the excited atmosphere is palpable.

The crackle of the Ruin Rangers’ walkie-talkies mingles with that of the ghost-hunting equipment toted around by excited Hex Maniacs, burbling Unown are drifting here and there to blink curiously at all the new people and Pokemon suddenly on their turf, and chatter from Legend Seekers of all ages (really, of ALL ages-- everyone from Youngsters to Veterans have apparently been swept up in the Seeker-mania!) rings out as stories and speculations are swapped.

There’s lots to do, plenty to explore, and (according to word on the grapevine), more than enough spooky rituals to perform once the night falls.

Will you solve some tile puzzles and fall into an underground chamber? Stick to the main group and make s’mores? Befriend a floating letter (or twenty-four)? Go directly against the advice of the tired-looking Rangers and play One Man Hide-and-Seek in the dark?

Or, most importantly, will you start a small-scale riot in order to keep the loud static boxes away from the tents where you’re trying to sleep?

I... guess I really don't have a leg to stand on here, I guess. Considering how my team is.

[They're all teenagers. And they've handled way worse than just explosives before.]

In the long run, it's probably for the best she has people looking out for her.

I mean we have Gaige on our fighting team so you know. That's better in the long run as well. I'd rather have her where we can keep track of her.

As for Tina. I think it's good for her. She's....a good kid whose been through shit.

[She pauses for a moment to look at the wall carvings.]

I just have no idea how the fuck I'm supposed to tell her Jack is here. If she doesn't already know.

[She sighs and presses a hand to her head.]

Fair warning, there is a slight chance Krieg and I may end up in jail again in the future. It depends on how things go. I'm hoping if it comes to it, we can talk her out of doing anything that involves blowing him up but .....she listens to the older vault hunters more then she does to us.

Yeah... yeah, I can understand that. A lot of my team is in the same boat.

[Especially Keith. Definitely a good kid who'd been through some %#$@.]

Do you think she'll really have the ability to blow anything up here? Aside from Voltorbs, that kind of thing doesn't seem to be laying around that much.

A lot of people in this place seem to be.

[She has been told stories about some of Krieg's friends worlds.]

Tina? Yes, absolutely. When I said she was our explosion expert, I meant she also builds the bombs. If anyone can make explosives here. It's her.

She seems to like the pokemon here so maybe she'll focus on those. After all, if she does go after Jack, she'll expect us to go with her. And I am trying very, very hard to see that as a bad thing. But she's a kid and I will go with her, and if I do, so will Krieg and ...

[She sighs.]

Sorry, this was meant to be a heads up just in case thing. I'm hoping it won't happen. I don't want this world to see her as something to be afraid of, when it's fine with a monster like Jack.

Maybe then, it would be better to steer that kind of talent to something more... useful for this world. Combustion engines, maybe. Those are small, contained explosions, right?

[So hey, then at least the kid is getting to do her thing, but slightly less... world-endingly bad. Potentially.]

Has that guy even shown up all that often? I don't think I've ever even met him before.

Maybe. It's worth a try at least. She really likes explosives though.

[She doesn't have much hope, but she would like Tina to be in jail as little as possible. They'd have to break her out. It would be a thing.]

I've been trying to avoid him as much as possible. I've only spoken to him once, thank god. But-

[She pauses.]

Maybe that will work. It's just ....really hard to explain to someone who hasn't lived through what he did on Pandora; why even though he's done nothing that I know of here, it's still really hard for me not to go up and try to kill him.

It's okay.

[It's okay that it's hard. He's not trying to piece together an easy answer here. As much as he would like to. For everyone's sake.]

I'm not saying you're wrong about him. I believe you. But I know the laws here aren't going to take anything we say into consideration.

When they say it's a second chance... they mean it.

Yeah.

It sucks but, so did a lot more things back home. If we can forget he's even here, that would be the best case scenario.

[Normally she is 100% for revenge. But sometimes you have to look at the circumstances and force yourself not to. It sucks but...ugh.]

That would be nice. Wouldn't it? Forget about the things that happened back home... the people.

[It's the ideal. Especially when your options are so limited.]

Me? I figured someone had to keep an eye out, if any of the others showed up.

[Like say, his teammates.]

I'd rather he forgot about us. But I get it.

[She doesn't trust Jack's silence and inaction here. She's been tricked too many times.]
