21st Zapfish [Video, Violet City]

[Since the Camp Alpha incident, Thida's hung around Violet of her own volition, helping out at the Ruins of Alph at first, and then just sort of settling in the area. She's been lost in thought, you see, and finally she's decided it's about time to ask the network about something that's bothered her for a while.

So, with the calm midday atmosphere of the Pokemon Center in the background, Thida sits cross-legged on one of its couches and holds up two fossils.]

Do these do things?

[It's asked rather bluntly. Yes, Thida knows what a fossil is, in general, but this world has some pretty unique rocks and plants that aren't Pokemon that do really incredible things! Ergo, must ask about fossils.]

This one, [she holds up the Helix Fossil] I got it a couple years ago? Been holdin' onto it. 'N then the letters at th'camp gave me this one, [Helix is lowered, Claw Fossil is held up.] They're nice, but...kinda heavy...if they do a thing, I wanna do the thing. Anybody know?

[Someone tell her where you can revive these bad boys.]

Those fossils can be turned back into living Pokémon with a special machine. I'm sure they'd be happier as part of your team than as paperweights, if you're interesting.

[They do make lovely paperweights, though.]

Not at all! The service is completely free, even though there were so many fossils around when it started that they could have made millions.

There should be one at the nearest Pokémon Center. At least, that's where I found it in Pewter.

Probably? There can't possibly be more than ten or so of those species out there, so they're unlikely to be unique. Haven't revived that one myself, though.

The world they discover now has nothing in common with the one they last saw. When I first brought Shelly home, she spent the whole day just... looking at things. Even objects we take for granted, like chairs.

I'm sure plenty of Pokémon would still have sat or slept in them, if they'd somehow existed. Most species adapt extremely quickly to human homes.

...Then they live sad, chair-less lives, forever plagued by the nagging feeling that something is missing from their existence.

The right chair can spare you decades of back pain and posture issues. It'S the sort of thing you appreciate more as you grow older.
