So hey...

Did anybody lose an over-sized armchair?

In the ocean?

Because one washed up on shore today and I think it's the weirdest thing I've ever found washed up.

[Korra turns the gear and that sure is a very soggy and sandy armchair, half on it's side, right on the wet part of the beach. It's hard to tell what color it is aside from 'dark', and stuffing is oozing out. That is one sorry chair.]

I'm pretty sure this falls under my domain, and I really don't know the proper disposal protocol for chairs the sea doesn't want anymore. I'm thinking burn it when it's dry? I know Iquniq is voting for that idea.

[The stocky Arcanine does look preeeettttty eager to set the wreckage ablaze.]

I think that one's done for the world, sister. If I can't even think of a way to salvage it it, then it's in a real sorry state. I'd just enjoy the bonfire.

[He'd sleep in a Hydra corpse and he wouldn't even sit in that.]

Who the hell dumps armchairs in the ocean anyway? Someone was real pissed about their cohabitor's decor or there was a hell of an accident out there.

Do Wailmers do that?

You'll have to excuse my naivety. Still gettin' acclimated to this an' as far as I know giant sea creatures could absolutely need themselves an arm chair.

[Drifter squints, twisting his face up.]

Actually, come to think of it, they ain't no weirder than half the people I know.

I haven't seen a single one of 'em break into a dance and throw themselves off a cliff for the fun of it.

Medium grade entertainment for all the immortals running around back home. Amazing how people take to dyin' freely when there are nigh on no consequences.

Damn fool behavior if you ask me, but I guess whatever floats your boat.

I can't argue too much with it, I guess. Consequences or no, if it weren't for damn fool behavior I'd be out of business.

People like that like to take risks. And you know what? They put on the best shows because they ain't afraid to get out there.

N...No...I can't say I have lost an armchair. Nor would I throw it into the ocean once I had no use for it.

[Jane's just at the moment.]

You can't find someone to help haul it to a...trash place? Where does all the trash go in this world, anyway...Oh, or, um, maybe if it can be dried out and repaired, you could sell it? I can't imagine you'd make much of a profit, but someone ought to have a use for it if it can still be used, right?
cyan_maid: (What's that now?)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2019-08-19 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I...I think Grimer and Muk eat it, sometimes...? Which is why you can find them in sewers and things...but other than that, I can't say for sure...

[Surely they don't just dump it somewhere]

I know my Grimer eats the trash I give her, but that's usually made up of burnt sweets...
cyan_maid: (Mm...I dunno.)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2019-08-20 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel like even an armchair is something you'd have to divvy up as a sort of feast, though...going to town on one whole by oneself can't be good for the digestion system of...sludge puddles.

[She loves Gertrude, but her species is a sludge puddle. It's the truth.]
cyan_maid: (I really don't...)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2019-08-26 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, they have eyes and mouths, and...a means of vocalizing...can't speculate about the rest of it, though...it might just be absorbed slowly or something, I...I can't imagine it's easy to find out if they have internal organs.

[Nor is it ethical, probably.]
cyan_maid: (Just doing some reading)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2019-08-30 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
They have to have some, in order to...function. Maybe not skeletons though.

[I mean, Ghosts probably don't have skeletons unless they ARE skeletons.]
cyan_maid: (Tense!)

[personal profile] cyan_maid 2019-09-04 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
...Oh, that's a little eerie, I don't think I want to know the specifics, then.
starry_forehead: (Well if you consider)

You could take it to a dump.

...Do the islands have dumps? I know there's some in the major cities.
starry_forehead: (I think I heard laughter again)

[personal profile] starry_forehead 2019-08-20 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, with no dump that's probably the best choice. I don't think anyone's going to want that.

It looks like it might take a while to dry though. Does it smell gross?
starry_forehead: (More explinations)

[personal profile] starry_forehead 2019-08-20 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Hopefully not too long then.

Is there a place out of the way you could drag it so it doesn't make your part of the beach smell really disgusting?
starry_forehead: (Awkward shrug)

[personal profile] starry_forehead 2019-08-23 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Not...really?

[He's been there very few times.]

Not really used to islands all that much. Sorry.
starry_forehead: (Yeah just no)

[personal profile] starry_forehead 2019-09-02 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I guess you're stuck with the smell until it dries then.

Do you usually find stuff like that on the shore?
captainash: (thinking)

[personal profile] captainash 2019-08-20 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
...This may be a silly question, but have you checked if it's some sort of Pokémon? Or if it belongs to some local water critter? Armchairs don't usually end up in the ocean by themselves.

['Ditto playing an hilarious prank on someone' is a theory that can fit many situations, after all.]

The ultimate, foolproof test. Too bad wild Pokémon don't have access to this network, it would make finding a hypothetical owner much easier.

Burning it might be for the best... I do wonder who would throw an entire armchair into the ocean, though.

[Connor can't help the little smile at the thought of someone hauling it all the way to the ocean and throwing it in.]

Of course, I don't condone the act of polluting the ocean with furniture.
plasticasshole: (✦ throw the software to the fires)

[personal profile] plasticasshole 2019-08-30 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Like throwing armchairs into the ocean?

[Well, it's possible. There are plenty of mischievous Pokemon out there, and plenty with the strength to do it.]

I wonder if anything else will wash up.
plasticasshole: (✦ i'm feeling happy now)

[personal profile] plasticasshole 2019-09-01 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Treasure Beach? What kind of things wash up there?

[He's never heard of it, honestly.]
