003: Video

[The video clicks on, Maya is standing by a window.]

I know people have been talking about the monsters from the portals acting friendlier this time around. Or not fighting them and then they'll leave?

Well, I ended up in a few fights with one when I was out walking and training. I kept beating it in battles and now I think it's following me.

Look, it's still out there. It'll probably attack if I go out.

[She'll turn the camera to show outside off in the distance. Yup it's a Buzzwole. Of course Maya would manage to get a Buzzwole to follow her around. She'll flip the camera back to her. She doesn't seem that worried, oddly enough.]

Anyone else have something like this happen? Or advice? I mean, I'll keep fighting it when it attacks, but somehow I don't think that's going to drive it off. Maybe a trap of some sort.

[She'll pick the hat off again and look at the label.]

Huh, witches hat. Guess I have to find the rest of a witches outfit. What about you?

[Nothing's really caught his eye, yet, so he continues to look until something does. He'd gone cute and fluffy for Angel, but Maya's really not the type to appreciate "cute", so he can actually lean more into the kind of stuff he's into.

It's not long before he sees a zombie makeup kit. He picks it up and shows it to her.]

T.K. Tribute!

[Small miracle, it's one of the rare instances he actually uses someone's real name - but only because he could make it into an alliteration.]

[She'll have found a purple and black witches dress and is trying to figure out how easily that left sleeve will come off, when Krieg finds the make up kit. She chuckles.]

Zombie make.... Oh that's a good idea.

Just don't cut off your foot or anything. I don't think the tribute needs to go that far.

[...Jeez, Maya, spoil all his fun, why don't you...]

Pfff, nah. The Geek Girl's not here to build me a better one.

[Is it bad that's pretty much his only reason to keep his foot attached to his leg? It's probably bad, huh.]

[It kind of is but also not really surprising. She will however, run with whatever stops him from doing that.]

Good. With the varying levels of technology this place has who knows what you'd end up with here.

[Like a stick. Speaking of that she's found a fake broom and is looking it over before deciding to get it as well.]

So what else do you need?

If it's not as badass as her robot arm it's not worth having!

[Man, a stick would suck. So he'll just keep both of his flesh and blood feet where they are for now.]

Mmmmm....I dunno. I've already got rags. Should I get different pants?

[She'll shrug and look around the shop. She's just guessing at this point.]

It might be more of a costume if you wear something you don't normally wear. Maybe if we can find something here?

Mmnnn, maybe.

[He looks around some more, too, but comes up at a loss.

He has a life hack for this, though. Usually when he's shopping he only has a vague idea of what to get, and it's usually a present for a friend, but this really isn't any different. So he locates a store employee, shows them the zombie makeup, and asks for suggestions for accessorizing.

The employee is happy to help, and Krieg quickly has a small collection of gear that will have him shambling in style.

The employee will also assist Maya, if she wants.]

[Maya is gestured towards other witch like things and picks out a few herself.]

I don't think I'll paint myself green, but aside from that this seems like a good costume. I like the broom, it might make for a good way to hide some sort of staff weapon.

[Green isn't her colour and yes she waited for the nice lady to go away before mentioning weapons.]

Do you want to stay in this city for the holiday?

Yeah! The party's good here.

But we should check out the little ghost town, too.

[Since Ecruteak is only a fast-travel hop away, and its aesthetic is made for this holiday.]

Is that stick no good for hitting?

Good idea.

[It really sounds like it was.]

No, it seems pretty fragile. Probably just meant as something to hold. It would break in half if I tried to seriously hit anything with it.

[Because that's not really the point Maya...oh well.]

We'll probably have to find a real one outside.

I'm sure we can find something stronger.

[And then Maya can figure out how to fight with a staff. Shouldn't be that hard...right?]
