Blissey produces eggs. Miltank produces milk. You can get wool from Mareep, honey from Combee, bananas from Tropius. Any Water-type can serve as a source of water as long as you boil it, and any Fire-type can produce the flames for that. And there's all the Pokémon that can help you cut tree, or dig holes in a mountain.

This list is probably missing plenty of options and helpful species still.

So, where are the few but hardcore survivalists who choose to live off the grid? Wouldn't this world be perfect for that kind of personality?

Yeah, a few people in town know about her. When I was looking for her there they said she sometimes came down to get medicine.

I wonder if there's anyone really hiding out there. I used to hide in trees when I was first travelling but it would be hard to live for a really long time like that. Maybe a few months.

Guess there are things not even a survival expert can do by herself. Not that I'd encourage amateurs to mix their own medicines, really.

There used to be places where trees were large enough for people to carve small homes in their trunks, but I haven't seen any here. Did hiding up there offer you any advantages along your journey, or was that just something you also did back home?

Oh, no we didn't have trees back home. But when I got here I didn't trust this place and I hid a lot, especially when I had to sleep.

The lack of trees and the lack of trust are both a shame. Luckily, they're both easily found here. That couldn't possibly be comfortable at night, though.

It was fine. I didn't sleep very much when I first got here anyway and I've slept in worse places.

I learnt how to camp though later and that made things better.

They really should give camping lessons to everyone that shows up here. Not sleeping comfortably can mess with your body in the long term, even if your nights are short.

Camping lessons would be good. Or maybe have someone there to tell you where you can sleep in the town. I walked to the pokecenter in the next town and it was winter so it was really cold. And not everyone starts with a fire pokemon like I did.

Seriously? Was there no one on the way who could tell you that much, no locals who could shelter you for a day or two? Even with a Fire-type, it's no easy trek.

I think there might have been locals if I'd looked for them to ask. But I was only seven and I'd just come from something really scary at home.

Plus the first thing here was that lady who lied about being my mom, told me I was ten and threw me out of her house. So I didn't really trust any of the local people to talk to them.

Yeah, I can see why that would be alarming. For us adults, that poor woman deserves pity, support and help we cannot given, but hearing blatant lies from a grown-up just after finding yourself in an unknown place, I get why you wanted to stay away.

Yeah. I never want to see her again. I wish we didn't have to wake up there.

If they know we do, they should just move the lady somewhere else so they can have non liars tell you about the place when you wake up.

I don't think moving her would be good for her health, all things considered. People like her need stability. But that's all the more reason to have someone stay with her, and welcome people as they show up.

I guess. But wouldn't it be better for her if she didn't have to see so many new people showing up?
