[Shiro's gear turns on while outdoors. On the beach. It's clear they're in the middle of a training session, with various members of his pokemon team sitting along a makeshift battlefield -- you know, the big rectangle with the circle in the middle. Made out of driftwood and seaweed.]

[And the entire gang is wearing the same mildly distressed expression.]

[Shiro, wielding the camera one-handed thanks to the sling on the other arm, slowly pans over to where his ... uh. Archen. Exists.]

Does... does anyone know if this guy is okay?

[Because the little bird-dinosaur sure doesn't really look like it. Its flailing is kicking up sand and bits of shells everywhere. Shiro's Litleo starts edging away from the other pokemon, eyes wide and ears slicked back.]

He's been acting like this since he hatched. We're all a little... concerned.

[WHY IS IT LIKE THIS, POKEMON WORLD.]

Well, Pokemon seem to have all kinds of different personalities... [Yuuko has a few oddballs of her own. Though none of them are quite like this one...]

I mean, I'm assuming this one is a flying type, so that could be it, right?

I think it's... supposed to be some kind of dinosaur? Maybe? Normally, I'd say it doesn't look flight capable, but --

[Both Shiro and the 'gear pan over to where his Tropius is dozing in the sun. Speaking of things that don't look flight capable...]

Well, birds are descended from dinosaurs... [Even dinosaurs that fly with giant banana leaf wings, apparently.]

Maybe you just need to give him some time. Not everyone develops at the same rate, and I guess the same goes for Pokemon.
