[Shiro's gear turns on while outdoors. On the beach. It's clear they're in the middle of a training session, with various members of his pokemon team sitting along a makeshift battlefield -- you know, the big rectangle with the circle in the middle. Made out of driftwood and seaweed.]

[And the entire gang is wearing the same mildly distressed expression.]

[Shiro, wielding the camera one-handed thanks to the sling on the other arm, slowly pans over to where his ... uh. Archen. Exists.]

Does... does anyone know if this guy is okay?

[Because the little bird-dinosaur sure doesn't really look like it. Its flailing is kicking up sand and bits of shells everywhere. Shiro's Litleo starts edging away from the other pokemon, eyes wide and ears slicked back.]

He's been acting like this since he hatched. We're all a little... concerned.

[WHY IS IT LIKE THIS, POKEMON WORLD.]

I never got to travel through space. I mean, I was on a spaceship before I got here but it was a really far distance and everyone had to get frozen and go to sleep for the entire trip.

I'd like to be on a shorter trip so I could see space.

[Oddly enough she doesn't have a phobia of space even though she almost died there too. Just, healthy respect.]

I wish I had a ship to take you up in -- I promise you'd come back down again, safe and sound. But it's beautiful out there. As scary as it can be, it's gorgeous.

That's okay. Maybe I'll get to see it if I go back.

Or if they ever go to space here.

[At this point (almost two years is a lot for her) she's expecting the second one is more likely.]

I'm holding out hope for space exploration while we're here... and hey, maybe my partner will be the one to make that leap someday.
