1st Match // [video | action] New Bark Town

[The video feed starts off with an eye.

Just one, surrounded by what looks like a mask. After a moment, the eye pulls away and the rest of the mask, which completely covers the owner's face minus the one eye, is revealed.

The voice underneath the mask is guttural and growling, but perfectly audible despite the barrier.]

Mother said to have fun and be careful.

[He rolls his eye and grumbles a bit, quietly at first but quickly growing louder. As he speaks he changes from his indoor voice to his outdoor voice, barking out the words louder and louder as he brings the camera close to his face again:]

How can I HAVE FUN WITHOUT MY AXE!??

[Somebody mad.]

Yep. They really don't like violence here.

[He might be a psycho, but at least he's talking somewhat rationally? Even if he might save the talking for later if they didn't happen to be speaking over comms.]

[It's a long, drawn-out sound of disgust. This whole planet sounds like a bunch of weenies. He blinks, and twitches slightly, before answering the guy's question:]

I'll live.

[His voice is a deep growl. He's not happy about it, but he'll survive without a daily murder spree somehow.]

[Wow, that's... Huh. It almost sounds like...]

You feel bad for the Pokemon?

[He blinks, and turns his head to look at something off-screen. Then he tilts his device away from himself, and toward...

...A Torchic.

It's wonderfully bright and fluffy and currently engaged in what seems to be a game of hopscotch in a gently-singed patch of dirt, alternately hopping up and down and pecking diligently at the ground. It looks like it's having the time of its life.]

Does this look like a contender for Fink's Slaughterhouse to you???

[Damn right he feels bad for the Pokemon!]

[He's a bit torn between smiling at the adorable little bird and frowning even more deeply. This guy is surprisingly upset for the creature, considering he's apparently Pandoran.]

No. No, it doesn't.

I don't really like it either, but... that's how things seem to work around here. And anyway, most of the ones I've seen are around the same size. I'd feel bad for beating up something smaller than me, even if it attacked me first. Wouldn't you?
