Yes, this appears to be broadcasting after all. Very well. Let us try this, little one.

[There is a floating Solosis who floats into view who is probably the one she was speaking to before she looks at the screen. When she speaks it is with a thick German accent.]

I am Dr. Brigid Tenenbaum, I was told to try this device to perhaps get more answers then I have received from the locals in the strange town I woke up in yesterday.

If there is a way back home, I would very much like to know it. I was in the middle of a very important project before I was taken here and I am needing to return to it soon.

However, if such a thing is unknown then if anyone has information on what this world uses pokemon breeders for I would be most grateful. It appears I am one and while I suppose my studies of genetics may be helpful with such things, I refuse to do this work unless I know what the results may be used for.

What happens to the film? Does it simply not record or is it damaged in some way?

I wish I'd asked myself- from what I gathered no one had properly tried, but as you've noted, that may not entirely be the case...

It is taking me some time to adapt to the various chances that having this technology allows, I shall admit.

Yes the technology is not completely familiar to me as well. Some parts seem much more advanced and yet others...less so in certain ways.

What sort of technology are you familiar with?

I have ....seen a great deal of progress on technology made in a very short period of time in my world. I am most familiar with the things that helped me with my research and work though-

[She really doesn't/won't talk about the details of the "advances" that got made with that right now.]

A better example might be robotics and A.I. I was learning more about computers when I was taken here. The one back home was much larger and used outdated methods. However it once was able to control an entire city and thinks for itself. It also could control security bots that would fly around and attack intruders.

It sounds incredible, [and very Verne] but very easy to abuse as well...

Your words make sense however- I've encountered things that seem far beyond what would have existed in my own time, but there are yet other things that seem somehow...before it as well. Not a lot, [he happily admits with a laugh,] But at the very least, it's strange not to see more train travel!

Yes. Such a thing did happen in the past. It is a...long story but the creator of it and I were working to rebuild it when I was taken here. It is why I am starting to know more about computers.

Yes. From what have heard they expect people to do a great deal of walking in this world.

Indeed- I did hear that the possibility of a carriage exists, but most apparently make use of them as caravans for shelter rather than any sort of cab. Evidently the norm is very much to ride a pokemon, walk, or...well, use simple transportation such as pedal-biking.

No. I am afraid all of my notes and materials remain in my world. I will have to wait until I return eventually.

[Which might be for the best for all her research. She is never going to introduce ADAM into a place it has never been. That would be a disaster.]

I wonder why that is. They have the technology for such things.

[And there's probably a market for it. But yet they don't. Actually that's a great sign. It's the opposite of Rapture's first, well if people will pay money for it, then who cares what will happen if we do the thing.]

Indeed- perhaps it is part of the harmony they have with the local fauna? Rather, the pokemon? If the focus on lifestyle here is so deeply connected to what encourages them, then I imagine a focus on transport with them rather than leaving them to be cargo would be part of it.

I would think it would have to be a deep connection to overcome humanity desire to travel where it pleases no matter the cost. But perhaps this place is different from the ones I know.
