WOAAAH! We are going to Sinnoh!
Come Sunday, the Goldenrod City Pokecentre is the scene of a cheerful chaos. Moreso than usual, even! Trainers and luggage arrive all throughout the day, and are herded together by some of the cheerful Joy staff, while Lance and his E4 companions check everybody off on lists. Nobody is getting left behind on this trip (except the people who didn’t sign up.)
Once everybody is present--and the lists have been triple checked to ensure that’s the case--Lance calls attention to himself. By now it’s early evening.
“Hello everyone, I’m very glad to see you all here. According to my list, we’re all in attendance, so it’s time to start making our way towards Sinnoh. I’m sure some of you have been wondering how we’ll get there… rest assured that your questions will be answered in just a few moments.”
After that, he steps aside and gestures towards… the warp pad? Are we warping to Sinnoh? Is that something you can do?
There’s only one way to find out!
One by one, the characters and their luggage are herded onto the warp pad and transported to… an airport?
Yes, it is an airport. The sight of those gleaming hallways may be utterly alien to some, but those with some familiarity with air travel should be able to recognise it for what it is. Staff members are on standby already, cheerfully directing characters to leave their baggage on nearby trolleys.
Lance is the last one to arrive, and he immediately launches into an explanation, hoping to preempt the storm of questions.
“Allow me to explain. This is Johto regional airport. While most regions have warp systems to facilitate travel inside a particular region, when it comes to long distance travel between regions, we use airplanes. In the past, airports were built in high-population areas, but this led to a lot of disturbances that affected both people and Pokemon. The modern solution has been for regions to build new airports, away from human cities and Pokemon habits. The Johto Regional Airport happens to be built at sea.”
And no, don’t even bother asking him for its exact location. His expression tells you all you need to know about the likelihood of Lance telling you.
“But we shouldn’t dawdle. There is a plane waiting to take you all directly to the Sinnoh Regional Airport. Unfortunately, my fellow E4 members and I won’t be able to join you on your trip. However we hope that you will enjoy seeing more of this world... and perhaps in the future this can happen more often.”
He doesn’t say not to cause trouble, but please, for Lance’s sake: don’t cause any trouble.
After that, the airport staff take over, bustling everybody across the airport at a rapid pace and towards a waiting airplane. They explain that the trip will take some hours, but that by morning, characters should arrive in Sinnoh. Bags are loaded, characters are installed in their seats (no fighting for the window seat) and the customary safety debriefing is delivered by a stewardess Lopunny, indicating the exits here, here, and here with practised sweeps of her adorable paws.
The flight itself is of little note. Narratively, at least. It might be incredibly interesting to characters who have never flown before, but for those who have, it’s a rather boring, uneventful flight. And once they land in Sinnoh, the same scenes from their time in the Johto regional airport play out in reverse. Characters are herded off the plane by another crew of cheerful airport staff. Bags are retrieved and matched up with their owners once more (don’t worry, nobody’s bag went missing) and once that’s all done, it’s onto the warp pad again.
This time, when they materialise, characters find themselves standing in the Eterna City pokemon centre. It… doesn’t really look all that different from all the other Pokemon centres they’ve visited so far, but just outside its doors lies a new region waiting to be discovered. A woman in shorts and wearing a strange half-cape is waiting for them, throwing her arms open wide in cheerful greeting.
“Welcome to Sinnoh!”
And with that, our Trip To Sinnoh plot is live. Gardenia will give your characters a short rundown of important sights and directions, as well as answer any questions they might have, before they are free to do whatever they want for the next two weeks.
Please feel free to post your own logs or network communications related to this trip in the
victory_road comm. Good news: the network can still communicate with those that chose to stay behind in Kanto and Johto! Meanwhile, we (the mods) will utilise this post to put up any and all mini-events, and the comments on this post will be locked until those go live. If you need a refresher or have any questions about the event, please check out our OOC info post here, which is also where you can ask any other questions you might have.

Floaroma Town Field trip
Get ready everybody, we are going to Floaroma town!
Friday morning, bright and early (perhaps a bit too bright and early for some), the warp pad will take everybody who is interested to the nearby Floaroma Town. Characters will be able to explore the town itself and the attached meadow. It will not be possible to leave via any of the exits.
The town is presenting itself at its most bright and cheerful. Flowers and plants line the shops and houses of the small town; small pokemon (primarily grass pokemon) scurry around, peering at the characters with interest. The feel and look of the town definitely gives you the feeling this particular field trip is aimed more at relaxation and everything traditionally considered ‘cute’ rather than adventure.
Oh well, hopefully, you’ll enjoy it anyway.
Town wise, Floaroma town is somewhat smaller than Eterna City, and has a bit of a more modern feel. Sunlight and flowers brighten up all the town’s cobbled streets, which are dotted with cute boutiques (for yourself, for your sweetheart, for your pokemon) and little cafes. As self-proclaimed lovers of scent, in addition to fashion and accessory boutiques, characters will also be able to find more than a few stores that sell a wide line of perfumes.
One other thing that Floaroma Town seems to boast more of than any other town is honey. It’s no wonder with so many Combee buzzing through the air. Maybe you would like to buy a jar or two to take home with you? Or would like to buy some of these delicious honey cookies? Some honeyed tea? Pastries glazed with honey? Or would like to buy this special honey to smear on trees and attract wild pokemon? Honey, they got so much honey here.
At the centre of town sits a gigantic flower shop, which sells everything you could ever need for your plants and plant-like pokemon. Does your house plant have yellow leaves? Does your Bulbasaur's bulb seem a little wilted? Don’t worry, the experts here at the flower shop are ready to help you find the best treatment for all that ails your green companions.
In addition to advice, characters will be able to buy a wide variety of products here that are specifically aimed towards the care and feeding of plant-like pokemon. Everything from nutrition or tonics to help get rid of spotty leaves or infestations lines the shelves. If you have any grass pokemon, be sure to check it out!
Another corner of the store is dedicated to everything the aspiring berry grower might need. In addition to being able to buy various berry sets to start off your own garden, growing pots and mulch, characters will also be able to buy recipe books to create the perfect Poffins and even participate in a small Poffin cooking class at noon.
The third part of the store is dedicated to bringing nature inside. Houseplants, watering cans, fertiliser, everything that you might need to grow a little green buddy on your kitchen sill is available for purchase. Additionally, one of the best selling items seems to be a very varied line of pokemon planters. Really varied. Whatever pokemon you might love and cherish, you can stick a plant in it. Might make for a nice souvenir!
If shopping isn’t your thing (or your wallet has run dry), there is always the Meadow.
Situated just outside of Floaroma Town, the Meadow is a huge, sprawling field of grasses and flowers. Some paths have been cut in the grass to facilitate walking around, but other than that, nature is allowed to run its course here. And it does so in splendour. Flowers of every colour can be seen practically as far as the eye stretches. Wild Cosmos, Daisies and Poppies grow alongside Marigolds and Morninglories. The gentle buzz of Combee drifts through the air as they go from flower to flower, while Butterfree and Cutiefly add splashes of colour to the sky above. Berry bushes line the edges of the meadow, heavy with both berries meant for pokemon and those meant for people. Surely nobody will mind if you take a few, right?
Near the entrance of the Meadow, an older woman can be found, tending to some young trees. To anyone who seems interested, she’ll tell them the tale of how the Meadow came to be. How once this was nothing but a huge, barren field. How the people of the town had tried to bring the meadow alive by planting flowers only to have them wilt, even under the greenest of thumbs. People had nearly been ready to give up and leave for greener pastures until someone prayed for the blessing of nature and suddenly the whole Meadow had sprung into bloom! It had been a miracle of nature and even until this day, the people of Floaroma Town worked hard to show their gratitude to nature.
Sounds a little iffy, but hey, what does your character know about growing meadows?
Either way, why not come for a nice long walk among the flowers, maybe have a picnic, and who knows you might even meet…
That’s right, during their visit to the Meadow, characters might have the chance to run into none other than Shaymin. Maybe Floaroma Meadow is its home, maybe it’s just here for a visit as well, or maybe it even came to see these wonderfully strange outlanders it has heard so much about from other legendary pokemon -- either way, Shaymin is loose and roaming the meadow.
Mind you, Shaymin is an extraordinarily shy pokemon. And it is very, very good at hiding among the flowers. While it is curious, it will only appear in front of characters if they are in a quiet and calm mood. Any sign of battling (whether directed at Shaymin or any other pokemon) will make it flee. Any attempt at catching Shaymin will earn characters a face full of itchy pollen as it once again scampers.
But if your character is kind and gentle and patient, they might just be able to have a rather extraordinary meeting.
Tutors & TMs
Floaroma Town is not a very battle-orientated town, but nonetheless, characters will be able to find some Move Tutors and TMs for sale.
Move Tutors
- Coaching
- Meteor Beam
- Skitter Smack
- Lash out
- Scale Shot
TMs
Leaf Storm - P8500
Stored Power - P7500
Shaymin’s gift
After encountering Shaymin in the Meadow, characters may find a Lum Berry on the ground where Shaymin was. It won’t leave these behind for characters that startled or frightened it, but those that were kind and patient might just find this special little gift.

Karamatsu Matsuno | ota
[Karamatsu has not been able to sleep well since he arrived in this strange new Pokémon world. but that's alright. it just means that when 9am rolls around, he's ready with his gear to go wherever it is they are going. Floaroma Town? great! never heard of it! but once he gets there, he is glad he's there. such lovely flowers everywhere! Karamatsu really likes flowers.
he still has just one Pokémon to his name, and he's hoping he can get a few more while he's on this trip. he's a Breeder, after all... he needs to, uh... have more than one Pokémon for that! he's just hard-pressed to give up doting on Feebas, whom he loves very much.
anyway, he is here, and he's grabbing honey cookies before they're gone. he doesn't have a lot of money, but there's enough to buy a few goodies]
II) Treating Yourself
[what Karamatsu is looking forward to most is the Poffin cooking class at noon. he's read about Poffins! they're supposed to help raise your Pokémon's statistics, depending on their color. ...well, something like that! he just knows they are good for Pokémon, and he believes he should have the skill under his belt. he's okay with cooking, even, so this shouldn't be a total disaster. hopefully.
for now, he waits eagerly for the class to start, ready to learn, and open to hearing more about the little treats. he's also looking around to see who is going to join him. maybe he could make more friends!]
III) It's Green They Say
[later on in the afternoon, Karamatsu ventures to the Meadow to check it out. he speaks to the woman tending the trees. of course, her story warms his heart, as Farfetch'd as it may be. after that, he can be found genuflecting in the field of flowers, sitting down on the ground and watching the Pokémon that are milling about]
IV) wildcard
[open for more shenanigans! reply here, or ping
I
...The niichan approaching him from behind, that's who. He pokes his little brother on the shoulder, and turning around, Karamatsu should see his big brother, his usual Trapinch riding on his shoulder with an amused grin.]
Yo~ decided to tag along for the field trip, eh? Want some company? ...If you say no I'll be upset, so consider your options here.
no subject
Company, eh? Of course, you may join me. I was just about to purchase some honey.
[but he doesn't have enough honey money]
no subject
Y'got enough for it? If not, I can spot'cha some. Because I'm a generous big brother like that, y'see.
no subject
[he looks over at Osomatsu, then back into his empty wallet]
I am beginning to think I will not be able to make enough money without battling, the way you do. I really do need more Pokémon.
no subject
It's not a bad idea to start battling and catching. Not at all. I can help you catch some new ones. That's partially why we're here, right?
no subject
...Yes, I believe so. If I am to stay in this world, I should start by... branching out more.
no subject
Are you?
no subject
...Yes, I am.
[Osomatsu wants uncommon pokemon, huh? Karamatsu just wants any, he supposes]
no subject
[He puts his own jar away, thinking about how much his bosses would probably value some uncommon pokemon...he's gonna get in good with 'em.]
So we just gotta go out into some tall grass and battle?
....Or. I do. Can your fish even fight?
no subject
[only because she's useless. maybe if she were battling against fire pokémon, she could get in a few hits. but grass type?]
But she has a big heart, like me.
no subject
[He lets out a little sigh, taking Snappy off his shoulder, kissing the top of his head, recalling him, then calls out his vulpix. Charisma Legend hops into his arms nigh-immediately, and he ends up carrying her like a baby.]
Aight. Lessgo.
no subject
So, brother... Erm, how does it work? Battling...
[he's too timid, fighting for sport is not his forte]
no subject
Well, usually in the tall grass, there's a lot of Pokemon wandering around, right? You call out one of your own Pokemon and try to make the best possible usage of their moves. You have to remember the types properly, of course, so I brought out Charry because fire burns grass. Fire types beat Grass types.
They're just gonna skitter up to my feet and I'm gonna sic Charry's best moves on 'em, and when they seem weak enough, y'toss a pokeball in. If it stays inside, it's yours. Simple, right?
[He had this info drilled into his head during hell week and that's the only reason why he knows.]
no subject
What happens if it does not stay in the ball you throw at it?
no subject
Well, if it pops out, you either weaken it more and try again or it might run away. Or you knock it out, get your own Pokemon some more experience, and move on.
no subject
I see. It is not so difficult to understand. Though it probably takes practice to become an expert.

Kazuki OTA
He brought his Sensu Oricorio, Azuma, and his Ribombee, Puff, together with him since they were even more interested in plants and gardening than he was, his Furret Maestra to help him carry stuff, and his Togekiss Daruma, just to let him enjoy the day. None of them were interested in battling, so the local Pokemon didn't have to worry about getting harassed.
So you can find Kazuki doing the following things:
-Hiking around and trying his hand at identifying plants.
-Stopping for a picnic lunch.
-Having an unscheduled nap after said picnic.
-Stopping for a drink and a snack at a local cafe at the end of the day.
-Or suggest your own topic!
Local Cafe!
She spots Kazuki settling down at a table near hers, and notices his Furrett helper. She perks up a bit that she isn't the only one to have thought of it. The idea of having someone carry things for you seems like common sense.
"You are a wise shopper, my friend!"
no subject
"What do you mean?" he asked. He hadn't done any shopping that day, so Maestra was carrying the supplies left over from his picnic. However, he did love to shop, so he thought she might be complimenting his choices in fashion.
no subject
"You have someone to carry your stuff for you! I have Stiletto as my helper!"
She motions to her Ekans, wrapped around a few large shopping bags.
no subject
A Furret was a versatile creature. She could user Surf, Rock Smash, Strength, Cut, Dig... The only thing she really couldn't do was Fly, unless maybe she learned to spin her tail around fast enough to take off?
"Is the shopping around here any good? I didn't have a chance to look, I was in the Meadow all day."
Sorry I died! I'm alive again!
"There's a lot of green things, but overall, not disappointing. The food tastes way more expensive than it actually is."
it's okay!
"Maybe it's all the green that makes the food taste good! The air is so fresh, and there're plants everywhere!"
