Hakutai Inn

As novel as the existence of a secret airport had been, the airplane itself and the flight here weren't all that eventful. In fact, Hunk had managed to nap through it. By the time they'd landed and everyone had been bustled to the warp pad that ultimately led them to the pokecenter in Eterna City, he's more than a little eager to get out there and stretch his legs.

Booking a room for himself at the inn is a no-brainer. As much as he doesn't mind sharing, Hunk figures it'll be nice to have a place to retreat to at the end of the day. After making a quick stop to drop off his things and freshen up a little, Hunk can be found exploring the building that will be his home for the next couple of weeks.

Gym

It's probably surprising to anyone who knows him well, but he's actually looking forward to challenging Gardenia. Even Hunk himself can't explain quite how he'd fallen into going after the badges. Sure, he could try to blame it on Tiramisu, or claim he was just trying to find something to do since it seemed like everyone else has already found their purpose in this new world. Maybe it's a little of both. Maybe it's something else. Either way, it has given him something to do, and he's grateful for it.

Today, though, he's parked off to the side in an attempt to watch some of the other challengers. Pidge, Chickpea and Blueberry are with him, though the former seems to be the only one paying much attention. Tiramisu appears to be curled up asleep at his feet. Clearly, she's into it.

(Down in) the Underground

Maybe it's not the wisest thing to be wandering around underground while Tiramisu is off on her own somewhere, but he figures it's probably better than the alternative. Trying to convince her to behave in such closed quarters when there are so many things to see and chase would probably just be asking for trouble. Fortunately, she's pretty well-behaved when she's not in the mood to battle. He'd even taken her out for a bit earlier in an attempt to burn off some of the excess energy she always seems to have.

For now, he's waiting patiently for the Mudsdale-drawn cart to start its journey. There's no telling exactly what he'll find down here, but Hunk is looking forward to finding out.

Choose Your Own

[Hunk is available to bump into pretty much anywhere. He'll be shopping and visiting the museum and generally poking around the city and the surrounding area. Tiramisu is available for nonsense while Hunk's working in the underground, if anyone is so inclined. Gym.

Armin had always enjoyed the gym challenges. Pokemon battling was, after all, a battle of strategies rather than mindless pure strength. Sure, you could brute-force your way past some challenges, but where was the fun in that? That was sloppy. Thoughtless. To Armin, the process of reading up on a gym's leader, trying to find the best pokemon among his own to counter each individual opponent, trying to figure out the best strategy that would leave as little as possible up to chance, running through it with his pokemon until they fully understood what he wanted from them... he lived for that. It was like playing chess, except you sure bonded a lot more with your pokemon than with your chess figures.

But there are no more gyms for him to challenge back home. He still tries to keep sharp by visiting the Trainer Tower on the Sevii Islands when he can, but it's never quite the same as challenging a gym. So when he heard they would be able to challenge the Gym Leader here, he'd been excited. And when he heard the Gym Leader was a grass-type specialist, that actually increased his excitement. As someone with a very water-heavy roster, grass gyms were a special kind of challenge. It would require some extra thinking and studying, a bit more puzzling and perhaps some really unusual strategies.

Sheer. Joy.

Anyway. After some good reading up and fact-finding about Gardenia's gym, as well as some new tutored moves and a very pleasant evening spent coming up with a strategy, he's ready to do this. Though when he arrives at the gym, he spots a rather familiar face, making it over to Hunk's side.

"Are you here to challenge the gym too?"

Underground

"Animal-drawn carts in a mine? How old-fashioned. I bet the system could be improved without endangering the structure."

Theoretically, Ash is also waiting for the cart to get moving. But he's mostly spent the last few minutes poking at the wheels, in a manner that's starting to alarm the closest guides. They should be glad he has no tools or materials available...
