Thankfully that Lance had the presence of mind to slap down a nice fat deposit to tempt the Eterna City Resort Hotel staff into setting aside the best and biggest table they have for a long overdue Team Voltron bonding session before going upstairs and blowing the rest of his trainer's savings on a room for him and Pidge for the next two weeks.

Unfortunately for all, this means that they're all on their own for whatever they eat and drink, including what Lance eats and drinks (But isn't that why one has a spouse to pay their portion of the bill?) Everybody can say Lance loves the finer things in life and that his tastes run to the pricier side of them, but no one can say he's much of an event planner. Or a planner at all.

That is why he's the one sending out dinner invites to the team, not leading them into war.

Thace smiles when he sees the relaxation. "I'm honored to finally meet you. How long have you been in this world?"

Pidge eases into a seat next to him, folding her hands on the table in front of her.

"A little over..." She pauses for just a second, making the time conversion in her head. "Just about two decaphoebs. I'm surprised we hadn't bumped into each other until now if you've been here for four whole movements."

"I've been keeping a low profile over the public means of communications. If you weren't visiting Violet, or most recently Goldenrod, I'm not surprised we hadn't had contact before now."

Thace says that like it's entirely normal to be paranoid about communications, and not, you know, paranoia.

"But now that I'm aware of your presence, I certainly would enjoy contact, even if we are physically apart."

She has to smile at that, just a little bit. Because she gets it. After being a part of a war in space for so long, encrypted messages had become a norm for many of them. Around here, though? It's a habit worth breaking out of.

"That'd be great. And you don't need to keep a low profile while we're here. The odds of Zarkon's forces even knowing to look for us in an alternate dimension are about 1.63 billion to one, nevermind being able to intercept the local comms." She inclines her head slightly, the smile on her face growing. "So relax. Now that we know who you are, call any time."

That gets a little smile out of Thace. While he's not sure he can be comfortable just posting everything publicly for everyone yet, he understands where she's coming from. More than that, updates had mentioned the Paladins helping with technical aspects of the plan. No details, of course, but even that is enough to get Thace curious.

"I think I will. I have a few concerns about the technology used in conjunction with Pokemon, and I'm wondering if with enough technical expertise, it could be updated to be better and safer for everyone. Would any of you be interested in helping?"

Thace just said some of the magic words. The way Pidge's face lights up is downright palpable, her grin spreading from ear to ear and eyes practically shining with excitement at the idea. "I would! I've been messing with my own 'gear for ages so I've got some useful upgrades you could incorporate into your own if you'd like, the tech here is limited and pretty primitive even by Earth standards and as far as the PokéGear are concerned there are some wild firewalls that need to be bypassed before you can make any decent headway on them, but anything outside of those and especially in conjunction with Pokémon should be a cinch - though I should warn you that making anything Psychic-proof can get messy. What kind of tech work did you have in mind?"

"I would greatly enjoy taking a look at your upgrades. I did the initial upgrades on mine while on the road to Cherrygrove with whatever parts I could scavenge, so they're not as elegant as I'd prefer."

Thace's 'gear does look like it was taken apart and put back together so that all the pieces didn't quite fit right, but it also clearly still functions. "Alterations to the balls and storage. I have concerns about Pokemon not being able to get back out once they're inside or being able to communicate. I'm also looking into possibly building some kind of translation facilitator."
