Thankfully that Lance had the presence of mind to slap down a nice fat deposit to tempt the Eterna City Resort Hotel staff into setting aside the best and biggest table they have for a long overdue Team Voltron bonding session before going upstairs and blowing the rest of his trainer's savings on a room for him and Pidge for the next two weeks.

Unfortunately for all, this means that they're all on their own for whatever they eat and drink, including what Lance eats and drinks (But isn't that why one has a spouse to pay their portion of the bill?) Everybody can say Lance loves the finer things in life and that his tastes run to the pricier side of them, but no one can say he's much of an event planner. Or a planner at all.

That is why he's the one sending out dinner invites to the team, not leading them into war.

[That slap gets a reaction. He totally did not expect her to hit him that hard. And thus, was not prepared for it. His shoulders jerk forward, taking his head with them, naturally.]

[So that ends up making his chin THWACK into the table.]

- Pidge!

[pidge_out]

[She genuinely didn't mean to hit him that hard so she does step back a little, hiding both her hands behind her back in shame. These hands? Hurt Shiro? Never.] Sorry! Sorry, that- that was an accident!

It's - fine! It's fine!

[It's just going to bruise later, probably. And hey, deep down, part of him is a little impressed she whacked him so hard.]

Back up. [Not literally. But this is clearly A Conversation that needs to be had.]

You two really -?

[pidge_out]

[Her cheeks are just gonna keep burning for a bit, and her eyes dart between her feet and Shiro's face a few times. She's really only just remembering that they had yet to announce themselves officially to the team, with things being so busy and everyone being so far apart all the time. And she didn't know what to expect, but Shiro choking on his drink upon hearing the news wasn't it. So Pidge nods quickly, scuffing her toe on the floor.] Yeah. We-- yeah. [And that's the proverbial kick to the brain that gets her rambling. Except she's definitely verbally tripping over herself here and there.] It's just-- We meant to tell everyone, and we're still gonna have the ceremony and everything later, that's really important to Lance-- and I mean we had to have the actual license before the wedding anyway so it just made sense--

[He is silent. Aside from a couple lingering coughs to clear his throat. But he doesn't actually say any words. Just sort of stares at her. As if she's sprouted a second head.]

[They... really went and did it.]

[As soon as Pidge starts rambling off, though - the sure sign she's uneasy, he just shakes his head. The shock is still lurking around the edges of his expression. Who wouldn't be surprised by news like that? His shoulders relax, something quieter overtaking his face.]

[And then he sits forward.]

[Arms around her.]

Hey. Good for you guys.

[pidge_out]

[The hug surprises her for a second and she stiffens, head snapping forward and eyes widening a bit. But then she softens again, features settling into a small, relieved smile. Her arms wrap around Shiro as best she can, returning the hug with a soft sigh.] Thanks, Shiro. That means a lot. [He is her brother, after all.] Sorry... for not telling you sooner.

Did you really think I wouldn't be?

[Granted, she did startle the daylights out of him. But that's not the point here. He gives her a tighter squeeze, just to drive the point home.]

It's okay. I... know I haven't been the easiest person to contact, lately.

You just surprised me. Promise - I'm not upset.

[pidge_out]

[There's a little laugh, shaking out the last of her anxiety as she squeezes right back.] You choked on your drink. I wasn't sure what that meant. [She wriggles slightly, just trying to pull back enough so she can give Shiro a sheepish kind of grin, the blush still faint across her face.] So um. Surprise, we eloped? How's your trip been going?

I probably would have choked on air honestly. You just ... really caught me off guard.

[But he's almost laughing too, as he says it. Hopefully that helps drive the point home. How could he be angry? They're doing what he'd always hoped they'd have the chance to do, here.]

When did it happen? [Spill the juicy deets, Pidge.] Because, you know I'm going to have to give Lance a "talk", for this.

[pidge_out]

[The blush deepens slightly and Pidge has to bite back her smile, lowering her gaze to where she's fiddling with the rings on her finger.] A few months ago. I just figured it made sense to get the legal stuff done and then we could spend time planning the whole party portion of it. No time wasted or anything, I guess. [Surprise again, it was Pidge's idea?]

That is... probably the most Pidge thing I've ever heard you say before.

[He's unable to keep the grin off his face. The look of pride all over his expression.]

[A hand on her shoulder.]

Let me guess. Lance is doing the party part.

[pidge_out]

[Busted. Pidge at least looks the tiniest bit ashamed, mostly of how predictable she apparently is.] It's important to him that it get done right. And he's better at it than I am.

Honestly, I think Lance is better at it than any of us. Look what he pulled together here, after all.

[Don't be ashamed, Pidge!]

We've all got our strengths, remember?

[pidge_out]

[That does make her smile a little.] Yeah, I know. I'm proud of him for it, honestly.

I'm proud of both of you. I mean it.

[Look at them. Moving forward. Doing what's best for them... just living. Not chased by war and space domination.]

[His smile turns incredibly wry, though.]

But... [That is one lengthy, dramatic pause.] I'm going to have to spook the crud out of Lance for this.

You know that, right?

[pidge_out]

[Her smile grows a little more as she barely keeps herself from just full on beaming. Shiro's proud of them, and that's about all the validation she could ask for. Of course that pause has her expression faltering slightly, because dammit Shiro it scares her for a second. But then she smirks a little, mischief in her eyes.] Well, that's a given. Make sure he properly soils himself, too.

[Well, Pidge is pulling a lot of expressions from him today. First the shock, then the pride, and now?]

[Now he's straight up laughing.]

You're dealing with him afterward. You sure you want me to do that?

[pidge_out]

Hey, I draw a hard line at doing his diapers.

[She's grinning, mighty pleased with herself. It's good to see Shiro laugh. It feels like it's been forever.]

[Pidge why.]

[pidge_out]

You're welcome. [Because why not, obviously.]

[Speaking of ruining he moment, here comes Lance to make it worse. Just with his mere presence. He's grinning stupidly up at Shiro who he playfully punches in his flesh arm with a skinny fist, while his left hand, the one with the ring that matches one of Pidge's comes to lie at the small of her back.]

Seriously, dude. Did you have to make a speech? It's a dinner, not a graduation.

[Ignore him. He's loving the name drop and attention right now.]

Lance, hey. Just the guy I wanted to see.

[You're welcome for this, Pidge. For ruining the moment. And probably any grey hair Lance may walk away from this with.]

I think... you and I need to have a talk. [He is putting so much seriousness into those words. So much. Shiro deserves an oscar for this performance.] About you and Pidge.

[pidge_out]

[Sorry, Lance. Pidge is absolutely playing along, nodding sagely at Shiro's words even while leaning into his side. She'll even grab up a glass of water to take a sip from, closing her eyes and totally maintaining a cool face the whole time. No one should ever play poker with her. They'll lose miserably.]

You're overreacting, Shiro. [She says it as if there is something Very Serious happening right now.] It's fine.

[Need to have a talk. That's a phrase no one wants to be greeted with.]

[He's answering Shiro, but looking down at Pidge, grin sliding right off his face before shifting into confusion. What could this be about? Oh god... Matt's pissed about them being a thing and Shiro has to be the bearer of bad news, right? That's what it is, isn't it? Unless it's one other possibility...

Eyes back on Shiro, wide with panic.]

I didn't get her pregnant! We use condoms!

[Most of the time, anyway. Unless Pidge has something to confess to Lance herself.]
