video; action for anyone in the area of route 29
[Open on a Gastly, bobbing up and down, making shushing motions. And then looking over to where its trainer is working with an Aron. Because clearly, Pokemon are more in charge of their trainers' Gear than the trainers, the Gastly somehow zooms in a little further, showing off the circles under said trainer's eyes. Someone hasn't been sleeping.]
[And then peeks into frame, looking disapproving.]
Give that here.
[Whoops, it's been spotted. Shiro's face takes over the screen, looking just as worn as he'd looked a minute ago, but more annoyed.]
This is the second time he's done this. Is that common, with these types--
[Before he finishes the question, though:]
[GASTLY used HYPNOSIS.]
[The poor, beleaguered young man goes down like a sack of bricks. Dropping the gear. And, judging from the indignant squeaks, has landed on his Aron while the Gastly looks on in mute embarrassment.]
[It's super effective! SHIRO fell asleep...]

[At least this seemed like an accident; Jean's Voltorb has taken to shocking him when it's displeased, which is more or less constantly.]
Hey, you awake?
video;
[For Shiro's part, the answer doesn't come until a good few minutes later, when he lifts his head up off the ground. With... grass in his hair.]
... Yeah, now I am. Sorry. Was I out a while?
[Since he assumes the 'gear was on the whole time.]

Uh... yeah. Yeah, I'm all right.
You have one, too?

[Answering his question even if it got cut off, of course.]
Ghost types are usually mischievous and sometimes malevolent. I think yours is just trying to tell you that you aren't getting enough sleep, however.
Yes, what --
Oh, right. I don't think... he's malevolent. Just overly concerned.
[Not going to comment on the lack of sleep.]

... Y'know, it probably should've put a strategically-placed pillow down or something, but I think that Gastly just did you a favor.
[But that's neither here nor there, and when Shiro finally sits up, hair a mess of forest debris, it's with a more disgruntled look than anything.]
Landing on my face in the middle of training isn't what I call a favor.

[Ash is obviously trying to help someone here, but is it the human or the Pokémon?]
[The answer is 'no, no one understands', because no one speaks pokemon.]
Are you... giving him tactical advice?

ACTION
He's not expecting to find someone passed out on the ground.
Murder Chicken wasn't expecting it, either; so while Krieg pauses in his rambling to
loomstand over the passed out guy, head tilted curiously to one side, the little Torchic takes command and hops right up onto Shiro's chest to attempt its very best rooster impression. It's still very much a baby, though, so instead of the impressive crowing it was aiming to achieve, all that comes out of its little beak are gentle peeping noises.
They're loud peeps, admittedly, but still very gentle.
Will this be enough to wake the sleeping
beautyShiro, or is Murder Chicken gonna have to step things up and aggressively nuzzle his chin???]ACTION
[Gastly just sort of. Stares. First at the looming human in the mask, and then at the peeping Torchic. What the heck. Where did these two come from?]
[Fortunately for all parties, Gastly's not a high enough level to inflict hypnosis for too long, and abruptly, Shiro is popping awake. Partly thanks to the efforts of Murder Chicken. Unfortunately, Krieg is also the last person he thought he'd see.]
[The startled Gah! probably isn't helpful, either.]

Dude...yes, they're totally mischievous like that. Mine was haunting a motel I was at, and it spent the whole time trying to spook me, and when that failed, mostly was trying to be annoying.
I kinda dig the guy. Really growing into his own. [And theeeeere's Slimer the Haunter drifting into frame behind Church, face big behind his head, hands inching up by his ears.] Do not let it lick you. Licking is bad. [He jerks his thumb over his shoulder, indicating he knows you're there, Slimer, and the Haunter pauses, looking surprised, then retracts his creeping hands.] Only lick inanimate objects and enemies.
no subject
Well. That's good to know, if nothing else.
[Shiro, there's a leaf in your hair. The stupid white puffy part.]
What happens when they lick? Or do I not want to know that?
