Someone hasn't been sleeping.]

[And then peeks into frame, looking disapproving.]

[Whoops, it's been spotted. Shiro's face takes over the screen, looking just as worn as he'd looked a minute ago, but more annoyed.]

This is the second time he's done this. Is that common, with these types--

[Before he finishes the question, though:]

[The poor, beleaguered young man goes down like a sack of bricks. Dropping the gear. And, judging from the indignant squeaks, has landed on his Aron while the Gastly looks on in mute embarrassment.]

[Aron, free and now excited, makes a game attempt of tackling the ghost -- while the aforementioned trainer just. Lays there.]

[Krieg's just been rambling aimlessly up and down Route 29 since he got here, avoiding people and chilling out with his little fire chicken buddy.

He's not expecting to find someone passed out on the ground.

Murder Chicken wasn't expecting it, either; so while Krieg pauses in his rambling to loom stand over the passed out guy, head tilted curiously to one side, the little Torchic takes command and hops right up onto Shiro's chest to attempt its very best rooster impression.

It's still very much a baby, though, so instead of the impressive crowing it was aiming to achieve, all that comes out of its little beak are gentle peeping noises.

They're loud peeps, admittedly, but still very gentle.

Will this be enough to wake the sleeping beauty Shiro, or is Murder Chicken gonna have to step things up and aggressively nuzzle his chin???]

[Krieg is probably the last person the sleeping beauty's pokemon expected to see. His Aron squeaks a little more insistently, wriggling around until it can worm its way out from under him.]

[Gastly just sort of. Stares. First at the looming human in the mask, and then at the peeping Torchic. What the heck. Where did these two come from?]

[Fortunately for all parties, Gastly's not a high enough level to inflict hypnosis for too long, and abruptly, Shiro is popping awake. Partly thanks to the efforts of Murder Chicken. Unfortunately, Krieg is also the last person he thought he'd see.]

[The startled Gah! probably isn't helpful, either.]

[Awww, c'mon Gastly, it's not that bad. Church'll talk to it until Shiro wakes up. Or Slimer will talk to him until Shiro wakes up! And when Shiro does wake up, Church is laughing. Because he's an ass like that.]

Dude...yes, they're totally mischievous like that. Mine was haunting a motel I was at, and it spent the whole time trying to spook me, and when that failed, mostly was trying to be annoying.

I kinda dig the guy. Really growing into his own. [And theeeeere's Slimer the Haunter drifting into frame behind Church, face big behind his head, hands inching up by his ears.] Do not let it lick you. Licking is bad. [He jerks his thumb over his shoulder, indicating he knows you're there, Slimer, and the Haunter pauses, looking surprised, then retracts his creeping hands.] Only lick inanimate objects and enemies.
