Yeah it sounds like that's definitely along the right lines then!

Yes; they're called vaccines, some of them you have to go to a doctor for but most pharmacies have flu vaccines available around fall and winter

I will encourage Ashe to come with me as we stop by the Pokecenter. I am certain that the nurses there will know more on this subject.

But you should also know it takes a couple weeks for them to be effective, so you won't be immune right away - and you're probably gonna feel pretty gross for a day or two after getting it done.

Why will we feel gross after receiving the vaccine?

Well it's kind of like
You know how you'll be tired after training even though it wasn't a real battle? I assume anyway.
It's like that but with how the body responsds to illness.
I have a fever, and muscle aches, and so on because that's my body tyring to deal with the flu germs; so after getting a vaccine, you might get a minor version of those symptoms

Grant, I understand that this may be a very stupid question, but please reassure me that none of us will die from that.

That is not stupid, and it will not kill you. You'll just probably want to rest for a day or two.

Can you not tell how hot you are by someone feeling your forehead?

Anyway like that you can tell someone HAS a fever and kind of how bad it is ubt not the numerical temperature, you can measure heat as a number with a thermometer and use that to tell how bad a fever is

If my temperature does get that high we should still have time to get the sled set upthen, i don't know if you've got to do it ahead of time

I want to make sure that you are all right, Grant. I do not want to take any chances. With that in mind, I will make sure the sleigh is properly set up just in case there is an emergency.

You are too important for me to do anything less.

If things do not happen, then that is fine, and it will not take much to put things back to as they are.

[After having lived on his own for so long, his "plan" when he got sick just being to get himself to the hospital if necessary, this is... odd. Even after he took Chip in-- well, Chip is a child, there wasn't much help he could ask of them; he's just glad that this is the first time he's really gotten sick since their arrival.

Anyway, the point is: Having someone fussing over him like this, actually making preparations for if things take a turn for the worse, is new. And, of course, because it's Dimitri, because of how he talks and how quick he always is to tell those important to him how much he cares...
