[When Jane arrives so quickly, Dimitri is just starting to feel the... kickback of his very first vaccination. Agnes, his Kangaskhan, has him seated down on a chair in his room, and is apparently checking his temperature with her clawed hand like any mother.]

[She is also holding, in her other clawed hand, what looks like a Hurricane cocktail, complete with fancy glass and a small wooden spear that goes through a small spring of orange peel, a cherry, and a slice of pineapple.]

[This is probably fine.]

[Dimitri rouses when he sees that familiar flash of blue and cheer, however, and he turns his head to smile.]

Oh, Jane-! I was not expecting you to arrive so quickly.

Well, I got your letter and just sort of, you know. Booked it? And used the warps.

[Still a touch dizzy, she thinks. Does that Kangaskhan have a cocktail?]

I'll stay for a few days just to make sure you're all doing okay, so don't worry, alright?

[The Kangaskhan does indeed have a cocktail, and she raises it up in a Cheers to Jane before turning her attention back to Dimitri and the temperature she's feeling.]

[Dimitri lets her do as she likes, smiling at Jane apologetically.]

I hope it was not too much trouble... I understand how disorienting it can be to use those devices. Hopefully we will not cause you too much trouble.

Frankly, I am only feeling slightly off, although Agnes keeps checking on me. She seems quite fussed about something, but I imagine I will be fine. It has not gone as badly as I thought it would.

No, no, no trouble at all! As for Agnes, well, I cannot speak for her, but I am glad to see you are in her capable hands.

[She's very insistent on checking his fever, like a mom would be. Eh, that tracks, she's a Kangaskhan.]

Yes, we have many people here to take care of us.

[A quick glance at Agnes, who just nods at him after a moment of thought, and Dimitri gets up carefully to his feet.]

We made the decision to take turns in who would get vaccinated, with one group going first and then the other group going after, so there is that, at least. And that is not even counting Grant and Jinx helping all of us.

I do feel bad about dragging her about, however... She was supposed to stay in Violet, but she was caught up in all of our drama.

You certainly seem to accumulate new travel companions wherever you go, huh?

I mean, we do consciously make these choices, but it is not a goal we set out to do. It is simply something that happens, you see.

When I began traveling with Grant and Chip, I thought it would only the the three of us, temporarily. However, Sylvain and Claude arrived shortly when we reached Cherrygrove, and, well, they insisted on watching over me... Of course, when Felix arrived, he always must be with Sylvain.

Felix became fond of Jinx, and Sylvain of Razor, and it happened that they travel with one another, so occasionally they have come along with us, for... various reasons. [trauma reasons] When Dedue arrived, he prefers to stay by my side, and, well, it would have been rude and cruel to leave Annette and Lysithea on their own when they arrived...

[dimitri... dimitri she's not interrogating you-]

[Agnes the Kangaskhan takes a sip of her cocktail]

[She chuckles softly.] Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound...weird or anything. It's just an observation! And I think it's a good thing, in the long run.

[Agnes is so valid.]

Oh, no. It's simply, well... When I think back on it, it is rather uncommon, at least in this place.

[Dimitri shakes his head.]

I suppose with a country that is so safe, people feel perfectly at ease traveling on their own or merely in pairs with no worries, should the weather permit it.

This is true. Or, you know, letting their kids go out and about at such a young age.

I am sure that Chip could manage it to a point... but I do not believe that Grant himself would be comfortable with it.

[Also, gotta make sure that Chip doesn't die from sugar overdose]

Still, despite that... I think all of us will be glad, in our own way, to find a place somewhere here in Olivine. Hopefully here, at any rate.

Oh, I'm sure you'll find something nice. You probably rent out a beach house if you wanted, too, considering the shore's right there.

Yes, that is what I think Felix and Sylvain would like... It's quite different from where we lived before. Have I told you much about Fhirdiad?

[Dimitri gestures for Jane to take a seat herself; he should really make some tea or something for her. It's only good manners after they had her come all this way.]

[But he's gotta trouble himself, Jane. He knows no other way to be. So under Agnes' watchful eye, he goes to set an electric kettle going and searching for some tea. He got plenty of chamomile in preparation for this sick day.]

Well, the cold snow makes it rather difficult a good deal of the time... Somewhere so warm and pleasant, with a glittering sea like this instead of a dull and stormy one, is rather new to us.

I think Sylvain will like that - being somewhere like this that is so different from our home. Honestly, I think all of this has been good for him, besides how travel wears down on a soul. Seeing somewhere with such different food and people...

[It's so much different compared to Gautier. Dimitri wants him to enjoy it.]

[Watching him make that tea...Dimitri if you are not feeling good she will come make the tea herself.]

-Oh! Yes, I do recall now, he mentioned once about how he was used to a colder climate. [But sleeping in a tent in the snow is not fun for anyone.] Was it difficult to go to other places, where you're from?

[Patiently, Agnes offers him a box, and he blinks, taking it. Oh, there it is.]

Ah, to a degree... Harsh mountains blocked one neighbor - [and frankly, fuck them] - and there was a rather dangerous and volatile area on the border of another, although there were paths around both of those... And, of course, we did have access to ships.

Mostly it depends on the time of year. Unless it was for the most dire of emergencies, winter had many people staying inside until the worst of it had passed. Oh - except for a holiday, where the community would gather together. I rather liked that... Although there is little need for that kind of thing here in Johto, I suppose.
