I suppose it would depend on where you are right now. If you are new here and have just arrived in New Bark Town, then Cherrygrove City would likely be the closest place for you.

There you can find work, for funds, and be able to more comfortably decide on your goal in this place.

They often do that. They are more intelligent than some might assume them to be, and I am glad that you have gotten help from yours.

Is there anything your partner has been struggling with?

Not that I am aware of. She is very curious about things along the path.

Curiosity is a good trait, although hopefully it doesn't get her into trouble. You seem as though you are a lot calmer for all of this. Is there anything that you are looking forward to?

[Better to look forward to something than hate it, or, potentially worse, be in a terrible dissociative state and come out thinking this is the afterlife.]

The wilderness does not bother me. It is nice, seeing so many stars.

I agree. The cities here are incredible to me, with how different the buildings and technology are compared to my home, but many of them shine too brightly. I have been told it is "light pollution", where the light they emit blocks out the night sky.

It is a shame, honestly, and I relish getting to travel for that reason. It is nice to see someone else who shares the same feeling.

I am from a city called Tokyo-3. It was similar in size to the ones I have seen here, but it was designed for a different purpose.

May I ask what it was designed for, and if that has something to do with the number attached to its name? I hope that isn't rude, but Faerghus naming conventions are somewhat different.

After Second Impact, the original Tokyo was destroyed, and two separate cities were developed to replace it. Tokyo-2 was designed to house government officials, and ours, Tokyo-3, was designed to support military action against the Angels.

[There appears to be some history here that he is unaware of... but he thinks he can understand it all roughly. Some sort of disaster or tragedy befell a city, and its replacement was split into two. And presumably...]

I take it these Angels were responsible for the Second Impact, or connected to it in some way?

Yes. They are incompatible with mankind.

That makes it sound as though they are not human themselves. I had thought that perhaps it was the name of a group, or another country, but it appears that is not so?

[instrumentally]

It is hard to describe them by way of appearance. Every Angel is unique, and cannot be replicated. All of them are immensely powerful beings.

Angels and humanity cannot co-exist. If the Angels were to survive, they would destroy what is left of humanity. So, we must destroy them before this occurs.

To call for the destruction of an entire race is a heavy thing to say. Why do Angels feel the need to destroy humanity?

[instrumentally]

I do not know if it is a conscious decision on their part. Perhaps the Angels are similar to us, and only wish to ensure their survival. They are difficult to understand, and we cannot interact with them without coming to harm ourselves.

Although I may be overstepping my bounds, as this is not a situation or place that I have ever gone through, that seems rather tragic.

I hope that you will be able to feel more at ease here. There have apparently been strange and worrying incidents here, but it is a mostly peaceful place. It would be nice if you could find some measure of happiness and comfort.
