I mean, in a world where money is functionally infinite, I really don't think it's necessary to judge how anyone chooses to spend it. It's not like their 'wasting' it means other people are being robbed of vital resources. But also, hey, if they want to turn their anniversary into a fun event for a bunch of people - well, for one, I think however they want to have fun on their anniversary is up to them and perfectly fine, and for another, I think wanting to share some fun and happiness with other people is a nice gesture. I think it's maybe even more telling of just how generous and friendly they are that they'd invite people back into their house after what happened at prom. Some people would get paranoid and suspicious and close themselves off, but they still love the world enough to invite it in.

Still, though...that doesn't mean the question of security should be totally ignored, or that I'm not worried about it. After what happened last time, where they clearly got their place targeted because they had a lot of money and goods worth stealing, having another big event in the same place - which is to say, with the same reasons for Team Rocket to target it - seems risky. It might not be as big an event as prom, but that doesn't mean Team Rocket won't necessarily try again. I'm hoping Riegfried and Soy learned some lessons from prom, but...well, I wish they'd offer us some assurances on that. Not bringing up the possibility of another party-crashing, or what they're doing to prevent that, has me worried that they're not even thinking about it. Romantic under the circumstances, I guess, but also pretty short-sighted.

Besides, taking steps to make things go smoothly - even if it means being a little suspicious - isn't necessarily a bad thing. Suspiciousness sounds bad on paper, but if it means your guests feel more secure in their safety at your event, isn't a little extra scrutiny a small price to pay for that peace of mind?

That said...breeding and battling aren't where the bulk of the money I've seen comes from at all. It's mostly through using Pay Day? Pokémon who can use that move can literally just...generate money out of thin air. It's incredible. (And I have no idea how the economy here even survives it, but it seems common?) It also requires zero visible work. It's where Dimitri and I made enough to comfortably bid two million on a shiny Dreepy, for instance. And we've been in this world less than a year. If Riegfried and Soy have lived here their whole lives...

Well, their money is completely consistent with my own experiences here. I actually don't know why most of the natives of this world aren't as rich as they are.

Also, they seemed plenty upset to me when I left prom. I gave them an egg from my Vivillon to replace some of the ones that were stolen from their garden - because obviously pokémon friends can't just be replaced when they're stolen, and I'm sure that's what upset them the most - so while I couldn't replace the stolen pokémon I wanted to make their garden feel a little less empty. I'd enjoyed it while I was there, after all, and it seemed a shame that Team Rocket had all but emptied the garden out. And they were touched!

I don't know. No one has to like them, sure, but you mostly seem to be basing your dislike on suspicions that have straightforward logical explanations. And hey, if you didn't see evidence of them being upset and you didn't know about Pay Day, fair enough, no one can know everything...but jumping to the most sinister explanation of what you don't have context for makes it seem like you're looking for reasons to dislike and distrust them. Are you sure they don't just rub you the wrong way in general?
