Does anyone else get weird dreams about Pokemon now that they're here? Like just the other night I dreamt that I found a swarm of Gengars, and one of them was shiny, except it was bright neon green instead of the normal shiny color (which would totally be a better color for a shiny Gengar, if you ask me), only right when I went to catch it, it cast Self-Destruct and fainted! I woke up from a dead sleep, shooting bolt upright in my bed screaming, "NOOOOOOOOOO!"
When my Pokemon came to check on me to see what was wrong, my actual (non-shiny) Gengar seemed to be giving me a look like she knew what the dream was about and she was jealous.

Oh, but anyway, about Gengar... Being a Ghost type might grant it some kind of weird abilities, you know? Just like a real ghost. So even if it's not Psychic type, maybe it could sense some of your dream or something.
