[ The feed suddenly cuts on and you can see the sky, and a bit of minty green hair. Forgive him he's not fantastic with technology. ]

Hello- apologies. I am Byleth Eisner. I do hope this ah- this message finds you all well. I would like to possibly request a bit of help as I believe I may be slightly-

[ It shifts and you can finally see his face! Wait- no. That's an Espurr who's soul-piercing eyes strare into the camera. ]

Breakfast, please! I know you must be hungry, but once we find our way to civilization, I promise we can eat-

Wait- don't d- [ The last thing the video shows are some Espurr beans before the feed cuts. ]

[Ashe woke up from a nap with Ky and Loog chirping at him while Ky held the gear. He sat up and rubbed his eyes as he looked at the screen. His sleepy mind worked hard to place the face on the screen. Wait? Is that the professor?

Ashe sat up as Loog settled in his lap and Ky pressed his own face against the screen the same time as the Espurr. Ashe eased Ky away from the screen as he waved.]

Hi professor! It's great to see you again! There are some treats and food here for your pokemon when you guys get here. I can make something for you too since I was going to get something to eat.

[He didn't mind making two things since his professor was back.]

Oh Ashe! Indeed, you have been sorely missed. [ Honestly that's an understatement. The mention of food immediately brings that soft smile to his face. ]

I would love that. I haven't gotten to taste your delicious cooking in ages. I'm sure Breakfast will appreciate it as well.

[ Ahh, his stomach is already growling at the thought. The Espurr seems to agree, chirping excitedly in his arms. ]

[Ashe gave a sheepish smile back. He didn't know his professor missed him so much, still it was good to see him. He got up and reached for his nearest hoodie while Ky grabbed the gear then jumped off the bed. Once Ashe got his bangs out of his eyes he reached for the gear on his way to the kitchen.]

It's no problem, Byleth. Is there anything in particular you wanted to eat? There are so many great things here that I can cook even more things than before. We should still have some homemade pokemon food for Breakfast too.

[Not that he didn't mind making food for Breakfast. An unique name for a pokemon, but very much like the professor.]

Oh I think it may be more of a question of what don't I want to eat- a much shorter list. Hmm... oh. I just can't decide. Every dish you make is delihtful.

Perhaps you would surprise me?

[ He can feel his stomach growl at the thought of Ashe's cooking. ]

Breakfast will be happy for it. I think he's getting cranky.

Sure thing! I'll make a couple of dishes for you to choose from. It's much easier to store food here. [He remembered Byleth's big appetite from their time at the monastery that it would be good to make some new dishes for them.]

I'll make sure to make enough for Breakfast too. So, how are you liking this new place so far? It's much different from home, but I've got used to some things. There are others I'm still getting used to like catching pokemon.

[Though many of his pokemon just get in his pokemon on their own after he fed them some homemade food, he's sure he'll catch one soon!]

Oh we have some extra mugs for tea too which one did you want? We have a mug with cats on it, one with plants, and one with waves on it.

You are just too good to me, Ashe. You know you don't need extra credit anymore, right? [ Just a little tease. ]

I like it here quite a bit. No more paperwork or blessings to do... but most importantly, I can be around my friends again. And make new ones.

[ OH SNAP!!! ]

A mug just for me? Well- obviously the cats. Thank you.

[Ashe couldn't help getting flustered in response.] It's not a problem really! I'll get started right away.

[Ashe walked over to the sink while Ky carried the gear so he could still talk to Byleth while he washed his hands.]

It sounds like you were really busy back home. You'll get a chance to relax. I like that it's so peaceful here too. [While he missed his siblings and a couple of people from home, it felt good not to have to worry about the various things he worried about back home.] You'll definitely meet a lot of people here and make a lot of friends. [Byleth did have that ability to charm a lot of people.] It's really good to get a chance to hang out again with you too. [Ashe would never turn down the chance to hang out with Byleth.]

Yep! Okay, the cat mug it is. You're welcome!

Indeed, I was. I am glad for this little vacation of sorts. I'm quite looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting new people and Pokemon. Which reminds me, what kinds of companions do you have there?

[ He's so curious about all the different species. Also he's very happy that he gets to lay claim on a cat mug. How wonderful! A mug just for him... and cats. What could be better? ]

I will require one other thing upon my arrival Ashe- I would like a hug. Do you think you can do that for me, too?

I have Ky, my Piplup, right here. [He gestured for the gear then turned it to Ky who stared at Byleth for a bit before he looked back up at Ashe who nodded.] He's another person I trust, Ky. [The Piplup looked back at Byleth for a few more seconds when he waved. Ashe walked over to the counter to place his gear so he could see Byleth's face again.] I have Loog, my Mudkip, a Growlithe and Lampent from Lysithea and I feel like I have another one I have to check. I know they can be really shy when meeting new people.

[Ashe always felt bad when he couldn't remember all his new companion creatures off the top of his head. He walked over to the refrigerator to grab a carton of eggs and placed them on the counter. Since living here for awhile he remembered which cabinet had the equipment he needed. Ashe placed the bowl next to the carton and grabbed an egg when he heard Byleth's request.

A hug? Ashe couldn't remember the last time he actually hugged someone, including his siblings that it took him by surprise he accidentally broke the egg in his hand.] Ahh! Sorry about that! {Ashe gave Ky a reassuring look before going over to the sink to wash his hands. He turned to the gear as he shyly nodded. Yes, I can do that.

[A hug after so long sounded nice.]

Hello Ky. Like Kyphon yes? [ Just a guess, knowing Ashe. Of course there's a Loog. He quirks a brow watching him break the egg, some removed level of amusement. He's missed Ashe so much. ]

Ahh, am I distracting you? I can let you know when I'm closer to arriving.

Yes like Kyphon! [Ashe quickly added as he cleaned his hand. He really didn't mean to do that in front of Byleth!]

Oh no, you're fine! Luckily, we have more eggs where that come from! Great, I should have everything ready by time you get here. [It would also give him time to settle down before he arrived.]

[ When at last they do arrive, Byleth is fairly exhausted from the long trip. Though likely Dimitri more so, as the man had allowed Byleth to sleep against him while they flew. Still, he is intent on seeing everyone first before he inevitably collapses on the nearest flat surface. He peers into the kitchen where he'll expect to find the archer.

And he does! It was either that, somewhere reading or the garden. ]

Hey, you.

[ The greeting is a fair bit warmer than Byleth had been in the past, but it's been a year and he's slowly been learning to be- well. More of a person. He stands in the doorway to the kitchen, holding his arms out. Come on. Get all up in this hug. ]

[Ashe finished plating the last piece of food for Byleth then stepped back to admire how it looked. He's sure it wouldn't be enough for Byleth's huge appetite, but he hoped it would be able to tide him over for awhile. He had a bowl of food for his pokemon too.

Ashe wiped his hands on his kitchen towel when Byleth walked in. It's been so long since he saw the professor that he couldn't believe he's in front of him again. He knew his face started burning when Byleth opened his arms, but he couldn't help it! Ashe walked over and wrapped his arms around his waist.]

Hi Byleth.

[He quickly discovered that he liked hugging or it could be that he hasn't received a hug since he was last home with his siblings, either way he really enjoyed it.]

Ashe.

[ Byleth folds into the hug comfortably. He's gotten better at this whole... physical affection thing. Squeezing him tightly at first. One hand moves to gently ruffle his hair. He's not really bothered to stay here as long as Ashe likes, or will tolerate.

Hugs are... very nice. ]

Ahh, I missed seeing your smiling face.

[Ashe knew he would enjoy the hug, but he didn't expect the warmth that passed through him from it. At first Ashe didn't wrap his arms around him the tight squeeze surprised him, until he eased into it. He wrapped his arms around Byleth's waist and leaned into the hand in his hair. Everything felt so warm, so nice, he's pretty fine staying in this hug for a long time.

Hugs are very nice.]

I-I missed you too...

[ Hugs are nice, and Ashe gives wonderful ones. It comes with the territory of being So Baby. He does eventually release him after a couple of minutes, stepping back. ]

Well then. Shall we have some tea?
