[Look at this poor, poor man. He's been buried alive in a mess of fur and minerals. Save him. He's sitting in the grass in town, leaned up against a "sleeping" Graveler who clearly has one eye open and fixated on a grumpy-faced Meowstic on Vaughn's other side. An infant Eevee in his lap paws enthusiastically at one of the cat Pokemon's two tails. Behind him, a Growlithe and a Riolu chase each other on and off the screen.

Vaughn looks more than delighted to be covered in these creatures.]

I finally have a full team! The past week's been a trip. Gorgon was the first one to evolve. Started glowing in the middle of the night, scared the heck outta me!

[A small face peeks out from inside the rim of his scarf, whiskers and ears twitching curiously at the camera before the Meowth ducks back into its hiding spot.] Then Meowth popped out of his egg outside of town, and Buffy grew legs and another set of arms. And this little fluffball just hatched! [He scratches the Eevee on its head before wiping a fake tear from his eye.] I'm so proud of my beautiful children.

Not sure what to name the hatchlings, but they're sweet little guys.

ACTION - AZALEA TOWN

[Vaughn will stick around outdoors in town for a while, maybe napping in the grass at some point. He'll be friendly to any trainers (or Slowpoke) who wander over, and may offer a light-hearted battle to the former if they're interested. But he's perfectly content just resting and chatting, too!

His Riolu will be more than friendly to any Pokemon out and about with their trainers, and will likely approach them to say hello in Poke-language.]

[Seeing Vaughn sprawled out with his whole team like this is exactly the kind of thing Korra needs to see right now.]

[That? That's a good thing. That's a happy, good man - a friend! - delighted by his Pokemon. That is a pure image. There is nothing but joy here.]

[There aren't any dangerous jerks from Korra's past popping up and turning her world upside down. There's no weirdness, nothing that makes her stomach churn or send her back to times and places she doesn't like dwelling on.]

[She has Iqniq, now a massive arcanine, and her two chubby Pikas following alongside her - though the Pikas are riding Iqniq. Her distressed expression melts into a small smile and she sighs.]

You look like the happiest guy in Pokeworld right now.

[abstounding]

[As soon as it spots Korra and her team approaching, Chunk barrels over and barks playfully as it bounces around its once-fellow-Growlithe. The racket stirs Vaughn, who maybe drifted off for a few minutes, and he peeks up at Korra to offer her a friendly grin.]

Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good. You guys wanna join us? Sun feels great.

[bent_the_world]

Yeah, I think I do.

[Korra flops down in a sprawl on the grass next to him, looking up at the sky. Iqniq rears and dances around in excitement, more than happy to play.]

So...someone from back home showed up. Someone I...am not really happy to see. Yeah, let's go with that. If I get really weird, that's why.

[She'd told Tarrlok she'd talk to him sometime in the near future. So now she has the weight of him being here and the weight of having to deal with him. She always could just...not. But that would be childish and petty and immature.]

[abstounding]

[The smile fades from his face as he turns to give her a more concerned look. He knows the feeling, sort of, and how badly thinking about it can ruin the enjoyment of being here.]

Hey, don't stress it. Getting weird, I mean.

Uuugh, it's a really complicated and not a fun story.

[Which isn't a 'no', she just doesn't know where to start. She and Vaughn come from such different worlds, and it's all tangled up with the Equalist movement and bending...]

The short version is he's a corrupt politician who tried to get me out of the picture. And came pretty close to succeeding. He's not even around anymore, for me. But he's from like five years ago and I don't think he even knows that I know what he is! Who he is. Everything. He talked to me like everything was fine!

[She groans and covers her face with her hands.]

I told him I'd explain stuff to him later, but... I'm sorry to dump all this on you.

[Angel leaned in closely, large blue eyes staring giddily at the Pokemon on the screen. In particular, her eyes alight on the eevee. Of course, she didn't quite realize that the only thing visible in her video broadcast was her forehead, and a few tufts of dark hair.]

Your eevee is precious! You should name it that!

[abstounding]

[He can't help but chuckle at the view from the camera. This girl must really like Eevee.]

"Precious." Tell you what; I'll strongly consider it.

[The Pokemon in question seeks the sound of its name and finds the image of the girl's head, though it's less amused and far more confused at what it sees. It gives a concerned trill as it paws at the PokeGear in an effort to save this poor human from her tiny prison.]

[Angel quickly pulled back, immediately concerned for the small pokemon. A frown pulled at her lips, and a hand lifted to her mouth.]

Oh no! I'm sorry, sweetheart! I did not mean to scare you!

[abstounding]

[The little one is significantly happier when it sees the woman in full, and may or may not believe that it was solely responsible for rescuing her. A happy cooing rumbles in its throat and its tail wags once or twice.

Behind it, partially concealed by its large ears, Vaughn chuckles.]

Wow, he really likes you.

[brokencode]

[Vaughn's comment sufficiently put Angel over the moon. She lifted her hands, pressing them to her cheeks, trying to stop the flush of emotion that was heating them up.]

Do you think so? I mean, I really like him too!

[ Rhys had watched the video with envy. He only has three Pokemon. None of them have evolved. Vaughn has an entire team and even some have evolved? Man, why can't he be that cool?

He knows how great Future Vaughn is. He knows what happens to him at the flaming wreck that's Helios, and an idea what happens to the Children and his best friend and a handful of ex-Hyperion employees out of what, a thousand? He doesn't know what happens after, though; how he's a CEO and all that jam. You know. Not as cool as your muscle bound friend who's the best pokemon trainer ever.

Whatever.

He happens to spot Vaughn though, mostly by his Rilou. Cute little thing, you had to admit! Rhys just smiles and nods, going straight up to his friend and leaning against a building. ] You look like you're doing good. Huh?

[abstounding]

[It takes approximately .2 seconds for Vaughn to register Rhys' presence, and even less time for him to leap to his feet. Sorry, buddy, but you're getting bear-hugged absolutely every time Vaughn sees you.

And that cute Riolu may also hug one of Rhys' spindly legs, because she loves anyone Vaughn does. Aggressively.]

Doing pretty awesome, bro. How about you?

[ Rhys literally doesn't mind that. Like, at all. Best Bro Hugs are literally the best kind of hugs. He's about two cents shy of picking Vaughn off of the ground, but his little Rilou is currently trying to cut the circulation from one leg to the rest of his body, so he'll just...keep him there. 'Cause his leg is already half asleep.

Once the bro hug is over, he pops out one of his pokemon for her to play with! Meet Gortys, his little Mareep. Her little tail lights up and she's just nudging Skagbait with her head. ]

Uhh, fantastic. I saw your post on the network, bro. It's pretty impressive.

[ He's taking this pokemon thing in strides, to be honest. ]

[abstounding]

[Skagbait is more than happy to say hello to Gortys, and gazes in wonder at the ball on her tail. She is mighty impressed with this cool new friend!

Meanwhile, Vaughn's smile is a bit self-conscious as he straightens up.]

Hey, thanks. Just... doing my best to take care of everyone, y'know? It's really good to see them flourishing.

[An Eevee and Meowth hatching around the same time? That can only mean-]

So your eggs from Soos hatched too?

[Dipper can barely pick up his Meowth because of almost being as big as him. The poor thing seems to have a cloudy eye, but looks happy to see a fellow Meowth.]

I named mine Greebo.

[abstounding]

Yeah! Man, I thought Pokemon couldn't get cuter. But the babies... [A low whistle.] A++ on these guys.

[He smiles warmly at Greebo, and coaxes his little one back out of the scarf. It's hesitant at first, but relaxes somewhat as it tilts its head at the other Meowth.]

Interesting name. Friend of yours, or?

My Zorua was tiny when she hatched! I thought she'd be bigger with the size of that egg.

[Doesn't mean she wasn't cute. Fay was adorable. Not that he'd say that out loud because boys his age don't call anything cute and adorable.

Greebo paws at the screen before Dipper shoos his paw away.]

No, he's named after a one eyed cat in a book. Except he's a lot nicer than the one in the book.

What's a Zorua?

[Meowth seems a little confused as to why Greebo and Dipper are so small, but it's comfortable enough to stretch and drape its paws out of the scarf as well.]

Aw, that's cute. Makes sense.

I'm kinda thinking "Bills" for this guy. Y'know, like Jimmy Bills.

You could always name them after things from home.

Yeah, I'm trying to give it some serious thought. But the last time I named one after home, everybody thought I was nuts. [He gives a short chuckle.] To be fair, the name does imply she'd get eaten back home.

You can't just say something like that and then not tell me what her name is.

[Ahh, now there's a sight that's not at all unfamiliar to Kaneki. Someone completely covered in Pokemon of various shapes and sizes. Something he's experienced plenty of times for himself.

He smiles fondly at the camera, using a free hand to scratch beneath the chin of a Zangoose perched on his shoulder.]

It looks like they all like you a lot.

[abstounding]

That's pretty convenient. I like them a lot too!

[A chuckle rumbles in his throat as he scritches under the Meowstic's chin, and she tolerates it -- barely, or so she'd like him to think.]

Yours is cool. What is it?

Ah...she's a Zangoose. I've had her ever since I first got here. Say hello, Rikki.

[Rikki's ears perk at the mention of her name, and then she tilts her head up with a haughty huff through her nose. Like yes, she knows she's pretty, thank you for noticing.]

As for names, I've been naming my Pokemon after famous authors or characters from literature. Things that would stand out to me, you know?

Hey, Rikki. How's it going? [He gives a little bit of a wave to the oh-so majestic Pokemon.]

Yeah, definitely. I get that. I've named a couple of mine after mythology. Others just kinda... come to me, y'know?
