[Hey fellow Paldea chums. Guess who immediately hit up the library to learn everything about this region that he can?

So now have Armin absolutely beaming at the camera, a wide smile and eyes shining bright as he holds up an atlas for all to see. The atlas is open to the page on the Asado desert.]

It really does look like a sea of sand!

I've wanted to see a desert since I was a little kid, and now I finally get the opportunity. Would anyone be interested in going with me? Huey, you perhaps? I think there is an assignment available too, if that might motivate some folks.

[Hey, Armin will do the assignment while he is there, but he doesn't need it. He'll go just for the excitement of seeing a desert.]

Or, perhaps, does anyone have a tips on travelling through a desert? Bring plenty of water, of course, but anything else? And pick the right pokemon, I suppose. I don't imagine my water pokemon would enjoy the area much.

[ The video opens on a very round pig, bouncing glumly on the deck of the ferry boat. A voice comes in, speaking in a posh accent that one might associate with an upper class upbringing. ]

So, I've read what I can about this creature in my Pokedex, and I understand that the pearl balanced atop its head is essential to its well-being... But the Pokedex doesn't say anything about it trying to steal other pearl-shaped objects to wear instead!

[ That's right. This is a pet shaming video. The Spoink frowns, looking appropriately chastised.

Adaine flips the camera around to reveal herself— a blond teen with round glasses perched on her face, wearing a denim jacket that doesn't look suitable for the current weather. ]

Has anyone else experienced this odd behavior? I'd like some tips on how to stop him from chasing down every basketball or melon it sees.

[The video opens on a sleeping little Jangmo-o, curled into a tight ball. The scale on its tail is draped very deliberately over its forehead, not unlike a sleeping cat. As the camera shifts (and the woman behind it rustles) the little creature startles just enough for the tail to fall away. The damaged forehead scale had been trying to protect immediately becomes obvious. Whatever caused it, the damage was long since done — the wound had healed over, leaving the break clear but little more to be done.

As the little creature lets out a fearsome growl, the camera backs off, then turns toward the user. Angel offers a careful smile toward the screen, lifting a finger to her lips as she makes her way from the room. The door is carefully closed before she finally speaks.]

There was a swarm on the islands a few days ago. I found him being picked on. Jangmo-o rely on the forehead scale to defend themselves, so… you can imagine the trouble he was in. [She sighs.] I’m hoping to help get him back into good health, but it’s going to take time. And honestly I don’t even know where to start, or what all is even possible.

But… He deserves a chance to live as normal of a life as he can. So… if you have suggestions, I’m all ears.

Wonderful news, network!

[Shadowmaru stands in front of his cottage door. He's wearing a heavy coat and scarf, like he's preparing to go outdoors.]

Thanks to your tremendous assistance and suggestions... my problem has been sorted. And wonderfully so.

[While he speaks, something sparkles in his hair. Is he wearing glitter in his hair? It looks like it's splattered onto the door, too. While he turns to open it, to reveal what's behind - in as dramatic a fashion as possible - more glitter seems to flake off.]

[But more important than that is the absolute unit of a shiny Scolipede hanging out on the porch. Preening.]

Ta-daa~!

[... and when Shadowmaru gestures towards his pokemon, there's a spray of glitter off his arm. Thanks, Snorunts.]

Okay, question.

Has anyone gotten a notification from the Jennies saying that there's an issue with their Trainer ID?

I feel like I've hit some sort of weird dead end with just more and more forms to fill out and it's... [Keith growled under his breath, his temper quickly fraying.] It's stupid. [He was visibly trying to keep his cool while on public video.]

[It's Armin at his desk, rain hitting the large windows behind him, making it look rather cosy. Hopefully you are all inside too, and not out in the rain.]

It's almost Halloween again, isn't it? Seems impossible that it's already this late in the year again. When I was a kid, my grandfather always said life goes quickly when you are old, but I never believed him. I guess he was right after all...

[Armin is clearly very old and soon to be turning even older. 23! Practically at death's door.]

Have you guys had any luck deciding on costumes yet? I couldn't think of anything, so I thought reading some of my favourite scary novels might help. [Armin gestures at a stack of books on his desk. Imagine books like 'Dracula' and 'Frankenstein' and 'The Haunting of Lavender House'.] But now I have the opposite problem...

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm open to suggestions.

[Though really, Armin kind of looks ready and willing to chat about anything. He feels a little bad for neglecting the network during the whirlwind of getting married and wedded bliss.]

[You know those videos where the owner opens the door and the animal freaks out? Yeah. Angel's feed opens kind of like that! Adorababy is sitting on the ground in the entryway of the Pelagic Gym. He isn't sure why he's been dragged down to the main area, when he's much happier lounging about in the living quarters. But fine, he'll humor Armin.

Speaking of Armin, he is, presumably, the one behind the camera. He offers some soothing words for the occasionally preening Sylveon.

And then the door opens, just a crack. Almost immediately, the pink ball of fur and ribbons perks up. His nose tips into the air, ears craning forward as he seems to quiver in excitement.]

"Do you recognize that?"

[Armin's voice floats over the recording. It seems to make the Sylveon tremble in excitement. He begins to trot forward, only to burst into an outright sprint as the door opens the rest of the way and reveals Angel. The creature wastes no time in lunging up at her, paws hitting her square in the chest and sending her tumbling backward.

The video blurs as Armin appears to charge forward, checking on Pokemon and trainer alike.]

"Are you okay?!"

It's okay. I'm fine. We are both fine, aren't we 'Dora?

[When the camera focuses again, it finds Angel and her Pokemon square on the ground, half inside the gym and half out. The Sylveon trills in delight, butting his head beneath Angel's chin. Its feelers are wrapped tight around both arms, holding her close and drawing her in for a proper embrace.]

I missed you too, sweetheart. It's okay, though. I am not going anywhere any time soon.

[The recording opens on a shot of a living room floor. A laughing Angel is there, absolutely covered in kittens! Seven little Littens crawl over her lap, demand pets, tug at her clothes or are trying to wrestle each other. Each Litten is wearing a different coloured ribbon around their neck, though many of the ribbons have chew and singe marks.

Though, while it is Angel being recorded, it's Armin who speaks, his voice warm with fondness and humour.]

Miss Minfilia? I've managed to breed that Litten you requested, though I think I was a little too successful.

[A momentary pause just to enjoy the sight of two Littens who have decided to start a little pouncing match in Angel's lap.]

For anyone else watching -- please take these little guys off my hands? One of them is reserved, obviously, but the other six are looking for good homes. They all come with seventeen moves fresh out of the egg and they are all male. One of them has a Hidden Ability, so let me know if you'd like that one. No charge, you are doing me a favour here.

[Armin laughs.]

Please. Before Angel convinces me we really need six more kittens around the gym.

Early Saturday morning, the doors of one of the largest --if not the largest-- convention centres in Viridian City open to welcome everybody to this years Battle Convention.

Spread out across several floors, and the battling fields outside, the Battle Convention is the place to be for anyone with an interest in pokemon battling. Whether you are a hardcore battler trying to hone your craft even further, or a newcomer to the battling scene hoping to learn, the Battle Convention has things of interest to everybody. It's promising to be a busy event, with trainers attending from all over Johto and Kanto. Famous battlers and gym leaders alike can be spotted in the crowds, hosting workshops or even entering in the tournaments.

This year, transport arranged by Riegfried and Soy will deliver everyone to the Sevii Islands -- a short trip for some, a longer journey for others. Either way, at around eleven AM, everyone who was interested in joining will have been gathered at a cheery cafe, fully reserved for the event so people have somewhere to sit and wait while the rest arrive. All bags will be taken by the couple's employees immediately upon arrival, with the promise that Trainers will find them waiting for them on the ship.

At eleven, Soy checks a pocket watch, then he addresses the crowd.

"Welcome all! Riegfried and I are so happy to see so many of you here. It heartens us greatly to see you trust us again with the hosting of this event. Please be assured that everything in our power has been done to prevent a repeat of last year's catastrophe, and we've worked closely with the League to ensure that everyone involved in this project is trustworthy. Now, if you'll follow me."

It's just a short trek from the bright little cafe to the ship's mooring. Or such is what all will be told as they walk. Riegfried and Soy lead the possession, coming to a momentary halt as the gathered Trainers crest a small dune. There, they both sweep off their top hats, giving deep and theatrical bows as they gesture towards a small, private bay where not one, not even two, but three airships lay moored along a pier, waiting for everyone to board.

"Welcome to Prom."

Nearby, there's a visibly fainted Durant, currently being looked over by one confused Torch Dragon, and a smug looking Adorababy.]

I just have one question. [Yes, her voice is nasally due to her current predicament.] Why do Durants smell like grapes?

[Angel's video clicks on, and finds her with a bright smile on her lips. Some might notice a faint shadow in her gaze, the way the smile doesn't fully reach her eyes. But she's doing her best to put on a happy face. She's seated next to Armin, who currently wears a scarf of a Sylveon. Said Sylveon is glaring downward.

It becomes pretty apparent as to what he's looking at. An... exceptionally wide Houndoom has spread itself across both Armin and Angel's lap. He glances up at the camera once, and then looks back down.]

Um. Hi. [Angel's voice wavers for just a moment, but she quickly draws a breath and continues on.] Maybe some of you have noticed but... Handsome Jack is gone. The man was my father, but... I'm sure many people know there was a fair bit of animosity between us.

Please do not send me your condolences. And... if you are missing him, please do not expect them from me. I am only doing a courtesy to those that did care for him.

[She traces her hand over the Houndoom's head.] Some of his Pokemon are with me. That includes Doom... Doom Boner here. [What a revelation that had been.] I may divvy them up to others soon but. Not today.

I'm sure some think me cruel for relishing in this. [Again, another waver. Her wide smile wobbles for just a moment.] But... He has put me through a great deal, and I am pleased to finally be able to enjoy my life.

[She glances at the camera, then at Armin. For a moment, her smile solidifies, gaze brightening as she studies him. With only a second of hesitation, she leans forward and steals a kiss. Her fingers fumble briefly, before the video cuts out entirely.]
