What do y'all do for money around here?
Aside from battling since that's not on the table

Back home, having funds wasn't really
a thing I had to worry about usually
I made enough to get by and that was fine

But here it's different
So, any advice would be appreciated

Not sure how long I can 'live off the land' like some kind of

Well, like I said, they're plenty smart. You don't just have to figure it out from context clues. You can ask them direct questions and have them answer, at least to the best of their ability. They generally can't use human speech. But like I said, they understand it just fine.
