[Along the side of one of the roads not far from New Bark Town since he had really just started out, sat Ulaz as he began his post. He was human now rather than Galra and a white mohawk. Those might have been still been somewhat normal, but the yellow pupils in his eyes probably weren't]

I am curious. Is is common place to name the creatures that you are either given or obtain? I have been wondering if she...

[A pause as turned the camera towards a rather rambunctious poochyena, who was indeed chasing off the wild and very dangerous... caterpie. Once she had successfully scared it off, she turned back around and came trotting back to her trainer, clearly proud of herself..

Ulaz turned the camera back to himself]

Would like a name other than calling her by what she is. I was curious how common it was to name them.

[As quick as Zirthe can make the flight, Thace arrives, first as a shadow passing overhead, and then landing a little distance away. He comes over first, with just Vrig the Aegislash on his back and Athvrix the Meowstic perched on his shoulder. Everyone else is hanging back just for a moment.]

Brother Ulaz, it's so good to see you in person after all this time.

[Ulaz hadn’t moved from where he had first made the post so he was fairly easy to find. He glanced up at the shadow as it passed overhead. Poocheyna - all bark and very little bite - came running back over to Ulaz at seeing the shadow overhead. Protect tiny partner, tall human!

As Thace walked over, Ulaz stood up and started walking over, his poochyena staying close by his side. Lots of big pokemons in person and she was tiny pokemon]

Brother Thace. It is good to see you as well. It has been quite a long time.

[The Corviknight caws softly. It's okay little one. All friends here! The sword waves an excited hello, and the cat is smug, as cats often are.

Thace for his part, would happily partake in a hug, but he extends his hand in the more traditional forearm grip first. He'll only move in for a hug if Ulaz seems okay with the little bit of tug in it.]

Steven and I are looking forward to helping you get settled. Also, this is my first partner, Vrig, and Athvrix. She's helped me a great deal, and has offered a kitten, if you'd like one. She trains them in how to help ease nightmares and other aftermath of stressful lives.

[Even before capture and torture, being a spy had plenty of trauma involved. Thace is very glad for his psychic therapy cat.]

[Ulaz would accept the traditional greeting, but would also step in closer for a hug when it was offered. Poochyena was reassured by the greetings and stopped hiding so much behind Ulaz. Even though the others were so much bigger than her, she knew she didn’t have a reason to be afraid. She was rather interested in the Corviknight. Big bird]

I would appreciate any assistance in getting settled. And I would appreciate that as well, Athvrix. Thank you.

[Since Athvrix was offering, he should address her. Poochyena looked between Athvrix and Ulaz. New friend to come?]

[Both then! The more traditional greeting leading into a brief but firm hug.]

[Then Thace chuckles suddenly and shakes his head.] Good, she says, because there are three eggs waiting in the care of Friya and Zedzti. Two Espurr and an Eevee, if you'd rather have one instead of a kitten that will become a Meowstic like Athvrix.

Eevee are fascinating and adaptable. They can mature in one of eight different ways. Flareon, like Vonir here--

[And now Thace gestures for the others to come closer. One is indeed a very fluffy Flareon, although there are sparse spots in her fur over several obvious scars.]

are the fire-adapted evolution, but they can tend towards several other types as well.

[The Corviknight, meanwhile, lowers herself so she can be beak to snout with the tiny Poochyena. Go ahead and satisfy that curiosity little one!]

[Both was good with him. It had been a while since he had seen another Blade in person and since he had been willing, there was no reason not to]

From what I have seen, it certainly seems like it will be a pleasant world.

[Ulaz glanced from Athvrix to Vonir... and then over at his Poochyena approaching the very large Corviknight that was now closer to her height. Poochyena sniffed at the Corviknight, studying the large bird. Big bird. Good bird. Poochyena wagged her tail, glancing over at Ulaz before looking back at the Corviknight. At least she wasn't afraid of the larger Pokemon.

His attention turned back to Thace]

It does sound like the Eevee are fascinating. Of course, I'm sure that both options are good ones. I think one of the... Espurr, was it, would be a good option.

A part of me will always be waiting for the reveal of something sinister pulling the strings, but I'm learning not to listen to that part. It's peaceful here, and much of the chaos that sometimes happens seems to be neutral in origin at worst.

[Corviknight bobs her head a little at the tail wag and stretches out a wing to let Poochyena climb up onto her back if the little one wants to.]

They are fascinating. Vonir often returns home with Eevee that have had difficulty making their way in the city. I have found quite a few family members through that, although just as many return to their old lives after receiving help. There's a group based out of Lavender Town that does the same thing on a larger scale. They trust me enough to call me in to help from time to time.

[He's proud of earning their trust as an amature rehabber. Then he chuckles.]

One of the Espurr it will be then. Athvrix says she knows just which one too.

I suppose it is something that we have become accustomed to given the state of our world. It is hard not to be suspicious. At least it is neutral and not intentional.

[Ooooo curious pup is not going to ignore such an invitation and climbed up onto the Corviknight's back. So tall now!... not that she wasn't already when traveling with Ulaz, but this was different. Ulaz didn't say anything, letting her get to be brave on her own]

I see. That is good you are able to assist them, either the ones that are brought back by Vonir and the rescue. And you have plenty of assistance if needed.

[Since he figured that given how willing they were to assist him, that they would also be willing to help those who came into Thace's care]

[Corviknight is going to slowly stand up to her full height, making sure the little one doesn't fall or lose balance. How's the view? she crows.]

I'm so glad to be able to assist. I--well, the mission was important and I have no regrets, but helping Pokemon, those in my new family here and those not, brings me a kind of joy I've only so rarely felt before.

[Thace is almost glowing with that emotion. It just feels so good to help and take care of others, rather than be an instrument of pain, even tangentially.]

[Whoa! Poochyena crouched a bit at first to stay stable, but once Corviknight was standing, she stood back up again. Queen of the world! ... Sort of]

Yes, I feel that both are important. Now that the mission has ended for both of us back home, there is little reason to spend time here worrying about it.

[He knew that nothing he said here would change their world as he was no longer a part of that]

It is good to find another purpose in that case.

[Corviknight is very pleased that Poochyena is enjoying the perch. She'd go for a flight, but not without the trainers to help. Thumbs are so very useful and she envies the pokemon who get to have them sometimes.]

You're right on both. I'm happy to help you however you can, and hope you can find some measure of contentment and joy here too.

[Yeah, Poochyena might need some help with holding on there. She couldn't really grasp anything after all except with her mouth and she had a feeling that would probably not be appreciated.

But she might enjoy flying with help. Then she'd be very high up and could see everything!]
