Video | Introducing the Breeder's Directory! (finally...)
[Hermione appears on screen, beaming at the camera and looking a little smug. She's holding a thick print out of pages in one hand. As her hands are moving, you may see the words 'Breeder's directory draft' written on the front page.]
Hello fellow breeders!
I've noticed, both times I've been here, that the need for a full list of breeders and their available pokemon and eggs would be extremely useful for other breeders. It will also enable us all to improve the gene pool of bred pokemon, as well as support the survival of rarer or endangered pokemon species.
It's taken a while, and thank you to those who have provided input.
I'm excited to finally present you with The Breeder's Directory!
I've tried to make it as easy to use as possible. Basically just input your breeding pokemon into each of the egg categories listed, as well as some additional pokemon and personal contact information.
That way, if you're interested in talking to another breeder about breeding opportunities, egg swaps and so on, you can see what's available and then privately contact the breeder to discuss.
It would be wonderful if you could take a look and fill it in if you have time!
Please let me know if you have any issues accessing the directory or if you have any questions.

[ though he's still starting out and ... has some more preparations to do. but! he'll be on the system in no time! ]
Ah! I have something exciting to show you ... do you remember the Trapinch egg you gave me? [ Corrin apprehends the camera around to show a fully evolved Flygon, who is curled up sleeping beside several balls of yarn. ]
He's all grown up now!

[Hermione's smile widens further when she sees Corrin's Flygon.]
Oh that's wonderful!
[She gestures off to the side wildly. A large green Flygon head appears in frame, peering at the pokegear curiously.]
Look Myr! One of your little ones all grown up!
[Myrmyr perks up and croons at the screen to her offspring. It was always sad seeing her eggs leave her, but she understands that Hermione can't keep all of them. Seeing how well some of them are doing though is good for her soul.]

I'm happy to answer any questions about breeding in general, if you have any?
no subject
Yeah, I'm still trying to get used to all the ins and outs of this concept and how it works here. I'm pretty baffled about all the different egg types, for one thing.
no subject
[Yeah there's no easy way of explaining THAT hot mess...]
The egg types is...sort of a confusing aspect of breeding. There are some books I can point you towards that you can probably pick up in the library but, generally, each pokemon falls into one or more 'egg groups', which means they can only breed with same egg group pokemon. And honestly, sometimes a pokemon's egg group makes very little sense.
I've learnt to try and let go of my understanding of how genetics, DNA and organism classification goes in my world, and just go with it here.

There's sure a lot of different things to try to understand here.
I apologise for nothing LOL
[She shoots through a short list via text message to Radley, including:
- Wailord and Skitty: How does that even work?
- "I have no idea how these got here." A comprehensive guide to pokemon eggs
- I 'egg' to differ - the how's and why's of pokemon egg groups.]
There is a lot to get used to, and it does take time, but there are plenty of people around who are happy to help out, and you'll also naturally pick up a lot of stuff as you go.
Re: I apologise for nothing LOL
Yeah, most people have been pretty friendly. I'm glad about that.

But if you need anything else, let me know! And if I'm not sure, I'm sure one of my friends would know.

[He hopes he won't have any trouble from them. He only has one Pokemon. They would surely leave him alone, wouldn't they?]
Thanks! I'll probably have a lot more questions down the road.

And no worries! I'm always free to answer any!

It's so neat and organized! This is beautiful, you did an excellent job!
no subject
Oh, thank you! I tried my best to make it as organised and easy to both read and input into as possible - I'm so glad someone noticed! I was debating colour coding further but thought that might be a little overkill for some people.

video;
Did it take you very long to compile?
no subject
That means so much to hear you say that! It's taken a couple months to plan, design and pull it all together - it went much faster once I had a stable place to live.
[She bites her lip, brow furrowing.]
I hope people actually use it though. I really think it will be useful, but only if the other breeders are actually invested in it...
no subject
[He inclines his head slightly, but that's as much as he'll do for anything on their end. This was all still Hermione's own efforts, after all.]
Perhaps you will simply have to remind people of its existence, now and then. Things are constantly happening in this place, and people are constantly moving about. It is easy to forget about things, with so much going on.
Connecting with other breeders will also be invaluable, of course - the more the word spreads among like minded individuals, the more it will get used.
