[Angel held up a small hand, waving to the screen that she faced. Since the last time she posted, her cheeks had filled out a little, and the shadows beneath her eyes had faded. While the ghosts of whatever had befallen her in another life still remained -- her eyes are still sad, and the hair on the side of her head has yet to make any significant strides growth wise -- this time, she was smiling at whoever found her feed.]

[Also since her last post, her flock had increased. Behind her, a blue flabebe floated by, occasionally brushing over Angel with her flower. Each time, Angel's eyes crinkled, a laugh catching in her throat. An eevee, still rather young, rested in her lap, napping pleasantly. A sentret scurried around beside her, chasing after Mari in a simple game of tag.]

Hello, friends. It has been awhile since my last post. [At the sound of her voice, each pokemon stopped what it was doing, giving her a quick glance before going about their business once more.] I figured it best to post something a bit more positive after my last... announcement.

I am doing well. I am happy and safe and I have a great many friends. [The flabebe gave a cheerful cry, reaffirming her statement] But that does not mean that I am not welcome to more friends, of course!

I just... wanted everyone to know. There are so many wonderful people here, and I would love to get to know you under better circumstances so... take this as your invitation to talk to me! Whenever you want!

Isn't it? [Angel offered a small laugh and another, more personal wave.] Hello, new friend. My name is Angel! I hope you are enjoying yourself as well as I am.

[ Okay. You look familiar. ]

Soooo. Uh. What's...your name again?

[Angel could say the same to him. But then, she'd spent years staring at people, and weeks doing the same here in Johto. It was a wonder that more people didn't look familiar to her.]

My name is Angel. And yourself?

I'm, I'm Rhys.

[ Angel. Angel. Ooh, he knows about you! ] Okay, I have a really bad question to ask right now. Is your dad...?

[Angel's jaw tightened. She had meant to be in good not to have her mood trounced so readily.]

What about him? [Her voice was tight and sharp, a 180 to her earlier demeanor.]

[Snake wasn't usually the kind of guy to socialise but why the hell not? She seemed friendly enough and knowing more people meant possible battles, right?]

Hey. What Pokémon have you got?

[Yep. It's always about the Pokémon.]

[Angel perked up. She glanced at her friends, mouthed a few things to herself, and then turned back to her communicator with an enthusiastic smile.]

I have an eevee, a flabebe, a sentret and my precious little Mari here! [Mareep let out a delighted bleat at the praise.] What about you?

I've got a Mightyena, Arcanine, Arbok, Nidoqueen, Pidgeot and a Meowstic.

[Quite a variety, considering he enjoyed collecting lots of Pokémon.]

[Angel's eyes went wide, taking in all the names of pokemon she hadn't even heard of in. She made a note to look each up, though she already assumed that whatever they were, the creatures were strong. After all, Snake looked like a strong man, and the names certainly sounded powerful.

That is very cool! You must be a very good trainer.

[Not surprising since he was currently battling his friend, Kaz, back from home. Kaz trained his Pokémon brutally, so they levelled up fast. Snake wasn't going to fall behind, so had been training his up but less brutally than his comrade.]

Thanks. I like to collect all types of Pokémon too. Kind of a hobby for me. [Kleptomaniac?]

[Ah! It's you again! Jane smiles brightly at the happy scene. Behind her, Dinah the Audino seems to have taken all the pillows and blankets on Jane's bed at the Inn and turned herself into a cozy burrito. Brrr, it's getting colder lately...]

Hello again! Goodness, you're looking well!

I'm just glad that you're feeling a lot better! I don't know what was going on the last time around but you know I'm definitely going to keep on bothering you!

Nice to meet you, Angel! I'm Hunk. It was kind of a rough start but it's all pretty good now. I haven't been here that long though, so everything's kind of new and exciting. How long have you been here?

[There's a knocking on the door that Angel will probably recognize by now as the sound of a Combusken beak peck-peck-pecking at waist-height against the wood. Krieg and Murder Chicken have gotten into the habit of checking in with Angel before they leave the inn for their daily ramble outside of town, and to invite her along if she feels like going out. It is once again that time of the morning, and so - impatient - Krieg asks through the door:]

Who's ready for a spine-tingler??

[Summer has moved over for autumn in a big way. The once green trees are now almost all bright orange and red and yellow, and the morning air is crisp in a way he's rarely experienced on Pandora.

If the weather continues to insist on getting colder, he might have to start wearing a scarf.]

I'm glad to see you're acclimating to this world.

[ Bad nerve! Bad nerve! Rhys reminded himself that she was a siren and could probably blow his brains out if she wanted to. Bad bad bad. ]

N-Nothing! I, I uh. Nothing. Just trying to get name and faces down, that's all!

[In some ways, Angel felt guilty at Rhys' reaction. But there was something about both him and his tone that left her uneasy.]

I see. [She paused, expression still tight and eyes unsure.] How is it that you know my father?

I am glad to be acclimated.

How are you?

Okay. Gabbing. That's what we're doing. [Angel paused, deep in thought.] How long have you been here?

Oh? [Angel squinted at her own reflection, head tilted to the side in the slightest bit. She hadn't really noticed it.] That is sweet of you to say, Jane.

How have you been?

[Angel couldn't help herself. There was something incredibly innocent and sweet about the girl on the other end of the line that she had to join in the laughter.]

I should certainly hope you will. I quite enjoyed talking with you before, after all.

[ You can probably see him rubbing the back of his neck. This feels...strangely awkward? And it is, because Rhys knows everything that happens to Angel, all but the fine details. The fine details that he should know, but doesn't. ] He was, uh. My old boss. Before he died.
