[002]- Ecruteak Inn (Video/Action)
[Angel held up a small hand, waving to the screen that she faced. Since the last time she posted, her cheeks had filled out a little, and the shadows beneath her eyes had faded. While the ghosts of whatever had befallen her in another life still remained -- her eyes are still sad, and the hair on the side of her head has yet to make any significant strides growth wise -- this time, she was smiling at whoever found her feed.]
[Also since her last post, her flock had increased. Behind her, a blue flabebe floated by, occasionally brushing over Angel with her flower. Each time, Angel's eyes crinkled, a laugh catching in her throat. An eevee, still rather young, rested in her lap, napping pleasantly. A sentret scurried around beside her, chasing after Mari in a simple game of tag.]
Hello, friends. It has been awhile since my last post. [At the sound of her voice, each pokemon stopped what it was doing, giving her a quick glance before going about their business once more.] I figured it best to post something a bit more positive after my last... announcement.
I am doing well. I am happy and safe and I have a great many friends. [The flabebe gave a cheerful cry, reaffirming her statement] But that does not mean that I am not welcome to more friends, of course!
I just... wanted everyone to know. There are so many wonderful people here, and I would love to get to know you under better circumstances so... take this as your invitation to talk to me! Whenever you want!

[ You can probably see him rubbing the back of his neck. This feels...strangely awkward? And it is, because Rhys knows everything that happens to Angel, all but the fine details. The fine details that he should know, but doesn't. ] He was, uh. My old boss. Before he died.

But what of this one?]
I am sorry to hear that. I suppose you must be glad you made it out alive, then. [She paused, looking down at herself before letting out a small, sarcastic laugh.] I shouldn't assume that, should I. I still made it here after all he did.

[ This is a really odd way to be talking about your dad? Calling someone lucky for living through their boss-ship, being almost bitter. It's not the reaction he would expect from Jack's own kid. He remembers the ghost pokemon that visited when he got flat-assed drunk and Jack took him home, how he treated the ghost version of Angel. He was so caring and loving, like a dad should be.
That all had to happen in the past. So why was she so mad now? So against the person who raised her? ]
...I mean, if it makes you feel better Hyperion is kind of gone, so...

[She liked to think that there were good people at Hyperion, this man included. But on the whole, she had only ever equated Hyperion with torment and torture, the focal point of her life of torment. There had been a great many men and women who had made her suffer over the tears]
[With luck, no other little girls would suffer by their hands again.]
[Which again brought up the question of this man. Had he been one of them, one of the monsters who had spent years running tests and experiments on their pet siren? Or was he as innocent as she had initially thought? He was, at least somewhat, relieved by the events that had befallen Hyperion, at least if his answer to her previous question was any indication. That had to mean something, right?]
Which department did you work for? I... was familiar with a great many of Hyperion's divisions. Perhaps I knew you from somewhere?

The way Jack talked about Angel, and how he told him about her before Helios was destroyed didn't make him think their relationship would be as rocky, as it apparently was (is?) Angel talks about her father like he's poison, but he talked about her with the highest regard. Something isn't right here. Rhys isn't sure whether to ask, or just leave it alone.
He'll be smart and just drop it. ]
I, uh, middle- middle management. I was just in middle management.
[ He holds up his arms. ] I didn't know anything about you though. Not just until recently. I swear.

[That was safe. That was about as far away from her as the accountants were. Expected, of course -- Rhys didn't seem to have the personality of the maddened men and women who had spent their time tormenting her. But then, his apparent cybernetics might have indicated otherwise. She'd seen similar things on men like Nakayama, as well as the many other scientists she had come across]
[She breathed a small breath of relief. As the tense, uneasy feeling eased from her chest, guilt rushed in to fill the void. Rhys had had nothing to do with what had happened to her. He knew of Jack, but surely he didn't know him.]
[And that only left one question to be answered.]
How did you know that I... that he was...? [She expected a simple answer. She hadn't exactly been subtle about her relationship with Jack. But still, she had to be sure...
