[Legosi looms into view as the feed flickers to life. He's standing in front of what appears to be a small lot that had previously been for sale. Previous being due to the big "SOLD" sticker slapped over the sign at the front of the little pathway leading back to the house. It's a modest place, but what really sets it apart is the large side yard it sports.]

Good morning. I hope everyone is staying safe, under the circumstances.

[He's been keeping his head low, because Nope. He is DONE with giant birds for a while, thanks.]

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've moved. ...well, it's more accurate to say I've finally settled down someplace. I'm going to be living in Azalea Town, now. Though I expect getting moved in may take a bit more time with everything that's been going on.

[The grey-haired young man (he knows) sighs, scratching the side of his neck.]

Anyway, um...if you need me, this is where I will be staying. I'm still going to travel every so often, but I thought it was time to get to work on the garden I've been planning to build.

[With all of that said, he offers the camera an extremely small, easy to miss smile before cutting off the feed.]

Ah, the joy of acquiring a long-term home! Congratulations!

[Cecil would congratulate Legosi for his continued survival despite the giant birds, too, but this is a time for happier thoughts.]

You like Slowpoke, I hope?

I do. They remind me a little of a friend from home.

[Legosi chuckles because yeah, he's seen the Slowpoke this place is famous for, and honestly just seeing them is enough to lift his mood.]

And thank you. I've been saving for a while, so it doesn't quite feel real yet.

They do so with their kindness and gentleness, surely?

[And not with their 'impressive' mental faculties.]

It'll become very much real once you start truly furnishing it. There's something delightful about seeing a comfortable chair or a nice painting and having a space to put it, without needing to worry about where it'll go when you move.

[Legosi nods, chuckling.]

It also helps that he's a seal. Slowpoke remind me a bit of seals...I'm not actually sure what they're closest to otherwise though.

I'm hoping that part won't be too difficult. My apartment back home is small...too small for me to really afford to put much furniture in it with how limited the floor space is. Now it's like I have too MUCH to work with.

...Some sort of aquatic mammal? They resemble no animal or monster present in my world, but they must have distant relatives out there.

[Cecil doesn't sound too certain about that, though.]

That does sound like an overwhelming change. Decorating one room at a time is always a middle-ground option, but you'd still need the basics you'll use daily...

That's right. I wouldn't say it's an exact comparison to make, but it's close enough I'd say.

[Seel and Dewgong obviously resemble them more, but still.]

I knew it was going to be a lot of work going in, but just purchasing the property and building on its own was a lot to build up to. I can't even move in just yet...

[He shrugs a bit though, not seeming too bothered.]

But I've been traveling and camping long enough that that won't be a problem for long.

It does have quite the impact, does it not? Not only on your finances and budgeting, though raising the money takes much time, but it also... It means accepting that you might be here for some time, that you need to plan for the future.

[It also involves a certain amount of adulting, and since so many people arrive as teenagers...]

Are the previous owners still present, or are certain renovations necessary before you settle in?

[Legosi, despite not looking it, is barely an adult himself at the ripe age of 19. Well, no...it's been a year since he's arrived. He'd be 20 now, wouldn't he?

Damn.]

More the latter. It didn't come fully furnished, so I'm working on getting all of that set up. I could have done a lot worse, I think, especially since the homes in this town can sometimes be older. But I don't mind it.

[He will take an older building over one that's brand new and would have him in debt for the rest of his time here.]

Age is not that much of a problem. Back in my world, I live in a building hundreds of years old, yet it keeps the cold out as well as anything built in the last decade.

[Cecil you live in an actively maintained castle. A castle built to withstand sieges.]

Did it come with all those electrical appliances, at least? They're such a terrible pain to move, after all.

It did, yes. Things like a refridgerator and a washing machine...I think the appliances have been replaced not all that long ago as well, they seemed to be in good condition.

[So the foundation may be old, but with a little clean-up on the inside it'll hardly be noticable.]

I'm hoping this home isn't that old...but hopefully I also won't need to use it for that many years.

That's one fewer problem to deal with, then. Unless you've very specific tastes when it comes to appearance and options, but that can wait until you're settled in.

[Or be put off forever because it's a pain! That works too.]

If it can reassure you, stays lasting longer than a decade are such a minority that they become outliers.

[Legosi has always been a pretty simple guy at his core, so it's very likely that he'll just go with what he has until it breaks. Saves him money and work in the long run.

He tilts his head a bit at Cecil's admission, giving a low hum in reply.]

I thought that might be the case. I have heard of a few who have stayed here for several years, but...it is like you say, it's a definite minority.

We certainly are. I can count the number of people who've been here longer than me on one hand, with fingers left over.

[And then, for the sake of complete transparency and honesty:]

That said, it's still worth building a good relationship with the neighbors, even if they're locals. You do not want to find yourself still here in five years, looked upon with suspicion because your Pokémon broke a window while playing.

Oh, no, definitely not.

[Legosi shakes his head, emphatically. He seems to be in agreement on that point.]

I would like to not cause any sort of trouble ideally...though my Pokemon sometimes do like to get into mischief. They aren't destructive or aggressive, they can just...be very curious.

...As long as they do not know how to open locked doors and are not willing to learn, some level of curiosity should not cause issues.

[Probably! He may sound less certain than he wishes.]

Um. Most of them don't...at least I'm pretty sure. And the ones that do know better.

[At least he's pretty sure.]

The one advantage of having mostly Pokemon without opposable thumbs, I guess.

[Or no thumbs at all.]

A lack of opposable thumbs is less of a problem than it might be in other worlds.

[Psychic powers! They're great!]

Of course, common sense sometimes wins over mischief even for the most impulsive Pokémon.

...oh, that's right. I always forget about the Psychic types.

[Good thing he doesn't have any of those! Y e t.]

[Dryly, with audible amusement:]

You've yet to train one, have you.

[That's the only reason anyone could forget, really.]

I haven't trained one yet, no. Though it does sound like I'm in for a time if I ever do.

Just like any other type, it mostly depends on the individual Pokémon's personality... But mischievous Psychic-types tend to cause more trouble than average.
