I have a question for people who've been here long enough to travel around or have been traveling, maybe something to think about after all the Braviary craziness we just had a week or so ago:
Is there anything here that reminds you of home? Forests, cities, beaches, anything. Even the food.
Ilex Forest reminds me a little of Miyagi, and the trees around Sendai. So do the buildings, they're a lot like the ones you'd see around Japan. A lot of the food too, now that I think about it.
[In not so many words, Tooru's homesick, but he refuses to admit to that. It's also why he's typing it out instead of enthusiastically choosing video or voice. Besides, he is just a bit curious about the other worlds after Corrin told him about Hoshido.]

[He chuckled, a little smirk playing on his lips. He wasn't really serious. He'd have loved to have seen the guys again. See how they reacted to this world and all the weird creatures in it.]
Maybe they will? Maybe someone else'll show up? Hard to tell. But missing home normal. When was the last time either of us were away from home this long?
no subject
Only a little bit? But maybe... Who do you think could show up?
[A pause, another sigh, this time with a shake of his head.]
I... I think this is the first time?
no subject
[Maybe if they knew the criteria for it, but from what he could tell there were all different people from different walks of life. Maybe there were some things in common but not many.
That slight smirk had softened into a small smile, sympathetic and understanding. Because he felt the same.]
So it's normal, right? Being homesick. Maybe we'll get used to it at some point but its still new.

[But being the good uncle he is, Tooru wouldn't rip the boy away from home and family, even if Tooru's sister trusts him with Takeru. He'd find that cruel, despite family being there for him.
Though he decides to just sit down right next to Iwaizumi, leaning against him. Better against him than looking at that smile that takes his breath away.]
Why are you always right, huh? But I guess it's normal to feel like this. At least we have each other, Hajime and Tooru. Iwaizumi and Oikawa. Together through anything for as long as we've known each other.
no subject
[He'd have had a blast, probably taken to this world faster than either of them had. But like Oikawa, he would never have dreamed of taking the kid away from his home. It was clearly hard for them being away.
His friend dropped down beside him then.]
You're stuck with me, Oikawa. Better get used to that. I'm not going anywhere.
no subject
[Tooru can't even say only uncle, despite that being true, because he's pretty sure Takeru considers Iwaizumi family as well. Just like how both of their families consider each of them family.]
Better you than Tobio-chan! Or Ushiwaka! Can you imagine if those two showed up? UGH. The worst! No thank you.
no subject
Heh... Kageyama-kun might be better than the other. But agreed. Having that guy here would bring the property values down.
[But the place was big enough that they be able to avoid them at all costs, should they need to.]
no subject
Ushiwaka would be terrible, he takes everything so literally and Tobio-chan is so dumb, he'd be getting into trouble all the time.
[He waves that off and gives a pouting glare, and then huffs before curling around himself while leaning his head on Iwaizumi's shoulder despite already leaning against the other boy.
He refuses to cry, he's the one that's gotta keep it together and keep up the smiles and laughter. Stay distracted, don't let any of that missing people win out. And yet he feels that threatening to happen.]
no subject
[But he was still proud of the kid anyway.]
Wonder if there's someone we can talk to to blacklist them? Some higher power that brought us here? If they can nab us maybe if we ask nicely they'll keep those guys out?
[He'd tried for a teasing tone, but the way Oikawa curled into him made Iwaizumi realise that maybe it hadn't been the right way to go. Oikawa was more upset over this than he'd given him credit for...?
He sighed softly and held his friend a little closer to his side before tipping his head back to look up through the canopy of trees.]
Hey... least we've got each other. You ever feel like you miss home, just come sit by me.
no subject
[Tooru's words are quiet, almost a whisper as he inhales, though curses himself with how shaky it comes out. Not to mention the quiet sniffle with it, as well as the wetness that slides down his cheek.
He doesn't even protest against Iwaizumi when he's told he deserves it, because he'd rather his nephew bully him than complain about it, because he'd have more normality in his life here. Nor does he try and say something else other than a nod and curling even tighter in on himself despite Iwaizumi holding him closer.]
no subject
All he did was lift a hand to drop it atop Oikawa's head and pulled him gently against him and held him there. A silent comfort. He'd be strong for him if he wanted to be weak for that moment. Oikawa could lean against him, and Iwaizumi would hold him.]
no subject
[Tooru finally speaks up, his sniffles having become more frequent and body shaking with him actually crying, clinging onto Iwaizumi's shirt.
It's just like the night they lost their final chance at Nationals, crying in private after thanking the other third years for their past three years. A mess, and relying on his best friend as his frustration exploded out of him.]
no subject
But being separated from their loved ones was an ache Iwaizumi couldn't deny.
Softly he sighed. And just as softly he ran a hand over Oikawa's hair where it rest against his chest.]
I miss them all too.
crawls in late...
Though it didn't help that being so close to Iwaizumi like this had his heart pounding and clouding his thoughts, but fortunately there was enough of a sting on his healing arm to keep him from doing something reckless.]
Yeah...? Who do you miss most?
no subject
[Honestly, if he really thought about it, that's who he missed. He loved his mom. She supported him through everything, he could talk to her about near everything. And he wished he could talk to her about this. How would she react to this world? With wonder, he thought.
Iwaizumi, almost absentmindedly, had continued to brush his fingers over Oikawa's hair.]
Think she'd have a laugh here, if she saw some of the stuff we see. She'd love our pokemon. I just... really miss her. Her cooking. Even her bad jokes.
no subject
But then he lets out a sniffly chuckle after he's let himself cry it out, and focuses on the hand in his hair.]
If auntie showed up she'd hug me first and ask how her favourite son was doing in dealing with her mean son! But you're right, she'd love this place and love the Pokémon. I miss her too.
no subject
And if maybe he was actually enjoying letting his fingers brush through silky soft hair, so what? He wasn't hurting anyone but himself.]
Hah, she probably would... [He didn't sound bitter. His mom adored Oikawa. Some days Iwaizumi was sure if she could swap them both she would. Only she'd feel bad after and swap them back. Or just steal Oikawa and adopt him or something crazy.] We'll get to see them again. Once we're done with our adventure here.
no subject
[Talking about their moms was oddly calming, because Tooru knew his mom adored Iwaizumi as much as Iwaizumi's mom adored Tooru.
Without realising it, Tooru also adjusted his head for Iwaizumi to get the best spot to scratch and run his fingers through his hair. It's fine he reminds himself, just platonic, and no one else's heart feels like it's about to burst but his. He'll let himself enjoy it for now until he can't anymore.]
I don't wanna forget this place if we ever go home, it's fun here. Even if it's a bit dangerous too.
no subject
[And if they were lucky they'd grow old together. Iwaizumi felt that Oikawa would be a part of his life until he was old and grey whether he wanted him to be or not. And he did.
The corner of his lips curved up when he felt Oikawa move his head, it made it easier for him to continue combing his fingers through that soft hair, and that was perfectly find with him. Because it was platonic. He was doing the thing his mom had done for him when he was a kid. It had always helped calm him down so he hoped the same would happen for Oikawa. And it seemed maybe it was?]
Think we can get it tattooed on us or something?
[There was a hint of teasing to his comment. Playful. Trying to lighten the mood just a bit.]
