How did he get here again?

There's a rather blue man astride a very-large and quite-purple cat. And he's busy trying to figure out just how in hell he got lost, by checking the map in his hands. Where on the piece of paper that will tell him where he ought to be, since he's positive that the forest he's supposed to be doesn't have one.

Naturally, there is no marker anywhere on the paper, much to his annoyance.

Muttering to himself, he folds the map back up and stuffs it into his pocket, prepared to continue onward—

—and notices that there's something else in it.

Something small, round, and definitely-wasn't-there-minutes-ago.

He pulls it out.

It's a small, red-and-white ball. With a button where the ball's colours divide.

What a strange thing.

He rubs the button with his thumb.

A very-familiar-to-everyone-else-ever popping sound.

A burst of light.

"ROWLET!"

"GYAH!"

Well. That's unexpected.

2: New Bark City.

Mom, it seems, has had several new-to-this-world trainers to deal with, and one by one they've been rudely shoved out the door. Possibly with some backpack mix-ups for some.

Keldor didn't get a mix-up, but he's wishing he did.

Because he's seen what the extra clothing Mom has packed in it, and...

There is no way in hell he's wearing THAT.

Which means he's busy wandering about wearing his homeworld clothing, completely oblivious to the fact that he looks like an extra from Conan the Barbarian.

Until he tries to procure something to eat.

"Sir. The sign says 'No shirt. No shoes. No service.'."

Pause. The owner is staring at a rather purple Maine Coon-looking cat.

"Also all pokemon are to remain in their balls."

"I am wearing boots. Are they not adequate for footwear?"

"They are, but... You need to be wearing a shirt."

Pause.

"You also need to be wearing pants."

Another pause.

"And your pokemon should be in its ball."

"Panthor is not a..." He tests the word. "'Pokemon'. And he does not go inside a ball."

"But sir..."

Someone please extract Keldor from this and drag him off to a mens' wear department. Please?

How did Geddoe find himself here? He has no clue. One minute he was opening the door back to the room he'd been staying in, the next minute he was here. One of those inexplicable effects of the weird weekend he'd been warned about.

But however he'd gotten here isn't really the pressing issue, seeing the local shopkeeper and the man dressed like some kind of outland warrior apparently at odds. And while, technically, it's not any of his business, it's not like he has anything better to do, so...

"Is there a problem?"

Emet-Selch | Final Fantasy XIV (Endwalker spoilers!)

I. Grani the Big Weird Dog(?) and His Equally Big and Weird Owner (pick a location)

[It truly does not matter where you are, considering the fact the weird weekends do not seem to care about the laws of physics, but likewise Emet-Selch's ability to teleport basically anywhere by will means chances are you will likely run into the man. He's hard to miss, considering that he's standing at a staggering 16'9", but furthermore his appearance is markedly different. Between the change in his hair both in color and style, he's wearing long, thick black robes.

Needless to say, he won't be found inside anywhere, but rather spending time outside with what is decidedly not a Pokémon, the beast proportionately sized to Emet-Selch. Whether riding it or merely taking a moment to enjoy the creature's company, you are just as likely to come across them. He isn't exactly making himself hard to find, after all.

In fact, if you do not catch him unawares in your approach, he will notice you. Those entirely too bright and intricate eyes finding themselves upon you, as he scowls. His brow knitting together as his mouth pulls into a frown.]

It is rude to stare, you know? Might I suggest you take your gawking elsewhere? Unless there is aught you require of me—but then again, mayhap especially then.

[Even though his size might have grown considerably, his patience seems to be as short as ever...]

II. A Fragment From an Unsundered World (Outside Goldenrod)

[For those who can fly, or those who have Pokémon that can, they might take interest in a very curious set of floating islands, ones with an architectural style they most likely are not familiar with. The land masses float above the sea just west of Goldenrod, their waterfalls pouring endlessly from the edges of the islands, dispersing into mist below.

Those who answer curiosity's siren song will be rewarded with beautiful islands to explore, full of lush foliage and beautiful buildings and structures, though they seem to be made for giants and not ordinary humans. There are also curious floating blue crystal structures that seem to act as central points for three of the islands. While these islands do not seem to be inhabited by people, there are beasts prowling the areas outside of the few gatherings of buildings. Likewise are these beasts massive, utterly gargantuan compared to a human.

However, (a) should you find yourself in trouble, unable to defend yourself against the giant beasts Emet-Selch will appear suddenly, snapping his fingers and making the beast(s) dissipate into nothing but aetheric sparkles that fade within moments. The giant of a man leveling a stern and expectant stare at you as to say "Explain yourself."

Or, (b) if you are smart enough to not get tangled with those beasts, and stick to the settlements, you will find that this place has one sole inhabitant: Emet-Selch. Whether you catch him off guard, or the opposite, your paths will cross eventually. Either way, the question he offers will be the same:]

And just what do you think you are doing here?

[Can't a man, in his endless servitude to his sentimentality, recreate a piece of the past he misses without someone intruding!?]

[Mayhap it is rude to stare, yes, but the people of this world are not nearly the size of the Unsundered of Etheirys. And they are not, of all people, the Most Eminent Emet-Selch, ever. Because no one could be him but him.

But there is a woman staring at him regardless, a Highlander with soft features whose coloring is oddly similar to the hero Emet knows - and with the glimmer of a soul he would definitely know, at a potency that...well, it's as strong as his was when they last met, and it's as strong as G'rhyf's is now.

Azem, stop leaving your shards everywhere, geez.]

[It's not that Estinien particularly cared to explore the suddenly appearing floating islands, as they could just as suddenly disappear, but tell that to an overly enthusiastic dragonet who just said 'Well, I can fly!' before zipping off to investigate.

Orn Khai keeps eluding Estinien's attempts to catch him and make their way down to the ground before the absolutely massive beasts up here take note of them and decide that they might make for a tasty morsel. First he tried to simply jump after, but quickly discarded that idea--it was far easier for something with wings to switch directions midair, whereas he generally went in one direction then back in the other. Flying on Ratatoskr was only marginally more successful--she was faster, but Orn Khai was smaller and more maneuverable.

The buildings were providing great sport for the little dragon, at least...until he flies around a corner and straight into Emet-Selch.

(Estinien and Ratatoskr manage to pull up short, so at least it isn't a two dragon pileup.)]

Said utterly deadpan. And to be fair, he'd paused to stare less because of the giant man and accompanying monster (that only merited enough of a look to get an idea of what they are) but the fact that he's pretty sure he recognizes the guy.

Of course, Geddoe himself is essentially unchanged... But for the fact that he has what's effectively a lightning god residing in the back of his right hand, whose power is granting him immortality. His thick gloves hide the visible mark of it, but anyone sufficiently sensitive to magical power could most certainly sense it anyway.

2-3 combo-wombo!

[Really, as soon as G'rhyf noticed the massive islands floating upin the clouds, there wasn't any way they weren't going to try and make their way up there. Thankfully for dear sweet Farrok's wings, their first attempt of teleporting to one of the aetherytes up there works a perfect charm. To their utter delight, this phantom Elpis does not mirror the enlargening effect Emet had placed on them before, and G'rhyf is quick to set off on foot around the place.]

[And them being who they are, it's not long before their path crosses with that of Emet-Selch. Or rather, their path finds its way to him, as the Ascian had yet to take notice of them. G'rhyf takes a few moments to consider their options, then grins and darts forward. With a great leap they throw themself as high up as they can and grab onto his robes somewhere around his buttocks.]

[What follows is probably a rather chaotic whirlwind as G'rhyf starts clambering up Emet's back and he almost certainly attempts to stop all this tom-foolery. Should they not be scruffed like the feral cat they are, G'rhyf ends their ascent with a 'Hup!' as they pull themself up onto Emet's shoulder to perch, but either way they're grinning madly and their tail swishing back and forth with clear amusement.]

You know, I was a little disappointed I didn't get to explore this place at my proper size back then. Not that I blame you for making everything more convenient, of course, but it really does enhance the sense of grandeur.

[Waking up with his ear tingling from being pinched against his pillow ought to have been his first clue as to how this day was going to go. Their forms were back to normal, thus their abilities were back to normal, thus other odd things were going to happen.

The very first odd thing accosted him the moment he stepped outside the door, a flash of white scales and wings and draconic aether dropping out of the sky nigh on top of him nearly making him reflexively reach for his lance--that isn't there, and that's enough to snap him out of it.]

Estinien! I didn't expect to find you here!

Hells, dragon, you're going to get yourself shoved inside a damn ball if you don't get stabbed first.

What? You don't even have your lance, did you lose it? You ought to keep better track of your things.

[Oh, he hadn't missed this. (Yes he had. A little. He will literally never admit it.)]

I do not need my lance to drag you out of the air by your tail.

[Orn Khai does a little flip in the air, then shakes his head dismissively.]

Oh, you won't. What is this place? And where can we get something to eat?

[ooc: Estinien and Orn Khai will be in various different places causing trouble throughout the weekend. Well. Orn Khai will be causing trouble. Estinien will be trailing after, grumbling at him and smacking away any pokeballs people try to throw at him.

Orn Khai does not verbally speak in a language anyone will understand, instead any one in his vicinity will hear his voice inside their head.]

[Being less familiar with these... quirky sorts of weekends, Aymeric doesn't entirely know what's happening when he wakes with an overwhelming sensation of... something. It feels as if he finally breached the surface after being submerged under water for far too long -- his sight and hearing no longer dulled by the muffled wake. All around him, he feels the faint tug and pull of aether. With the rush that it provides, it's almost easy to miss the slightly different signature of another creature.

Familiar and powerful, yet miniscule all the same. He'd know the feeling of a dragon anywhere. And while it lacks the rage and all-encompassing power that Nidhogg might, having only recently crossed paths with the beast, Aymeric's mind can't help but jump to that conclusion.

Which is why he firmly interrupts Estinien's conversation with Orn Khai by throwing open the door to their room. Still dressed in his sleep clothes, and with his hair rumpled and uncombed, he's surely a sight to behold. It's a fact he becomes all too aware of as he finds Estinien and the dragonling -- pure white and most definitely not Nidhogg-adjacent.

His eyes go wide. His cheeks burn. And for a long moment, he can only stare between the two creatures before sense finally takes him.]

I... appear to be interrupting something. I am going to go back to bed in the hopes that I awake from what I can only hope is a nightmare.

Almost as soon as Shrike realized what time of year it was, he promptly and nigh-singlemindedly set himself to a particular task.

Which is why, all throughout the weekend, you might stumble upon a child wearing a hood that magically shadows his face, busily examining sticks and stones, or sitting and muttering while holding another of his hooded cloaks, or carving markings into a piece of crystal...

Wait, forget what else he's doing, what on earth is a kid who looks hardly twelve years old doing with such a sharp knife??

"The Azure Elephant" || Final Fantasy XIV

[After his rather... disruptive morning, Aymeric can hardly be blamed for laying low. So low that, well... Attempting to find him will result in failure. It's nothing to worry about too terribly -- his name is still in the 'Gear, so he hasn't been spirited away to his home. But still, despite doing his best to be around his companions, there is a rather Aymeric shaped void cropping up in their spheres of influence.

What does seem to be present, though, is, well.

An Elephant. Not a real one, but obviously a very tall man in a mascot outfit. He walks around with a foam sword at his belt, and stands guard proudly here and there throughout various cities. Blackthorn, Celadon, you name it -- the Elephant will be there. Watching. Waiting. Cheering you on.

And if you happen to be someone that Aymeric de Borel might consider a friend? Well. He's on his way to give you a big hug, no matter where you are.

The Elephant even manages to find a Chocobo at some point? Just a big yellow bird kweh'ing away as he waves to random souls throughout the Pokeverse. Or maybe it just looks like a Doduo to you?

Well. Uh. Have fun with that.]

[Getting randomly bearhugged by a mascot is...not what G'rhyf expected today? Granted it's not a bad thing, just very unexpected--especially since the Azure Elephant has come up from behind them and come just barely shy of lifting them off their feet! They have to twist around a little to get a glimpse of the full outfit, and between the trunk bumping the top of their head and the faint pulse of friend/safety/family along their Echo G'rhyf is able to put two and two together.]

Is this what you've been up to all day? [With a laugh G'rhyf tries to squirm around enough in his plush arms to give a great big hug right back.] And here I was worried I'd left the rest of you in the dust!

[Oh this? This feels good. How long has it been since he'd flown? He can feel it, deep in his circuits. How good this is, how much he's longed for it. He doesn't even bother transforming to jet-mode for it. Feeling the air rush over his root mode is perfection. At this point, Shadowmaru doesn't even question waking up in his true form. Just another one of those weekends, so he may as well get in as much as he can, right?]

[And it sort of casts a weird shadow on the ground under him. He's only partially aware, too busy reveling in the feeling. Please don't panic if you see a vaguely human-shaped shadow flying overhead. He's fine.]

[But if you do scream, or panic, he'll land in a hurry to reassure you. Because what's more reassuring than a 16ft robot?]

2) "Fur"
[There's a pack of dogs running around. Wherever you are, there they are too! A Growlithe, Rockruff, Electrike and ... uh. Type Null. That counts as a dog, right? Sure. But, shockingly? The Null isn't the strangest part of this pack. The actual strangest is probably the big purple metal one. It's about the size of a pony, for one.]

[They're not actually doing anything ... wrong... exactly. They're just charging around the streets. Or park, or the route you just so happen to be on. Playing. Maybe one of them brings you a stick.]

Geddoe is not a dog person. Never has been, in fact. So his first reaction is to attempt to just ignore the rowdy pack, if he can. Except then, almost as if the animals(?) can sense his disinterest and want to prove themselves anyway, one insists on approaching him. And not leaving. And getting, apparently, somewhat worked up over some stick.

"... Go away. Shoo."

He already has to deal with a hyperactive lizard as his starter, he doesn't want to deal with dogs on top of that.

1. Closed to Minfilia

There she is. Minfilia Warde.

I said that for dramatic effect. It took me basically no effort to find her, seeing as I already know her name and her essential character features.

Don't worry. I don't plan to do much to her. Don't think that's due to any particular charity on my part, though. Mostly it's that with as much as Emet told me, I doubt she'll be particularly pliable, or receptive to my overtures. Then again, she just might be. I'll be testing the waters today. As I am myself the water, this is more like a swim test.

Funny thing about mortals, specifically gound-bound, human-type mortals. Unless you teach them otherwise, and I mean really hammer it home... they suck at watching the skies. I was obviously an exception to this, but HIC's drones made sure I'd be alert. The drones, and the seagulls. I learned to dodge their shit early on. Literally.

Anyway. Enough about me. I'll be approaching her personally here in a moment. Right now, I'm a few hundred miles vertical of her, and she's none the wiser.

I've already decided she'll recognise me instantly. Not through any particular detective work on her part, but because I said so. I have a pretty distinctive character. What I lack in height over her physically, I more than exceed her in every other way. Obviously, I have more relevance in one gram of my own sweat than she does in her entire body. I know she's important to her canon, but let's be real: so was John. And now look at him. So yeah. Besides, I have other qualities, qualities that are more on her level of awareness. If I sound smug, it's because I'm right to be. I am omniscient, extremely powerful, and very charming.

Also, I've been told I 'look exactly like' the kind of guy who talks the way I do. I have no idea what that really means, but I assume that's a compliment.

Anyway. Scene, set. Location, Lake of Rage. Time, right the fuck now.

From above, I descend--vertically, in a descent I'd love to call 'meteoric' for thematic purposes, but in the interest of accuracy, I have to admit it's more like the New Year's Ball. Just much, much faster, and appreciably less orbicular.

DIRK: Minfilia. Just the bitch I was looking for. Kinning the Gyarados now, are we? I could put some fins on that fursona for you, if you want it, but it would lose an element of authenticity if I altered it at all.

2. Warrior(s) of Light (Derogatory) (Positive)

From what Emet has told me, there's only supposed to be one shard of Azem at a time, at least on the Source. (Stupid name. What is this, Shane Acker's 9?) Really, it's just the shard central to canon. But whatever. There's only supposed to be one, but it seems like reality is having a real fucking conniption fit over what that 'one' looks like, sounds like, acts like, and ultimately 'is.'

This is... frustrating, for a lot of reasons, but it does present a singular opportunity. Namely, the chance to collect them like fuckin' main-character pogs, do some data collection, tag them with my own particular brand of Narratively established interaction, and then release them back into the wild (more or less) unharmed. Of course, finding them is going to be........ a piece of fucking cake. What, did you think this would be hard?

Okay, it's not as easy as pinpointing a single specific character at a given place and time, because while all of them are ostensibly the same specific character, they're all fucking different. So a different strategy is required. Instead of independently locating and travelling to each so-called Warrior of Light, each shard of Azem, I have to commune with the fundamental 'character' of the character they're supposed to be, then exert a 'pull,' courtesy of my own nature as the epicentre of essentiality, relevance, and truth, something that these 'WoLs' are inexorably driven to be part of anyway.

And then, with any luck, the notoriously erratic nature of the Game we're in during these weekends will find them inexplicably wandering around in my fair city of Saffron, where I can do as I please with them.

That's the plan, anyway.

The Mad Hero | The Legend of the Legendary Heroes

Perhaps you've already run into Sion today. Or perhaps you haven't. Either way, you may or may not recognize the size and build of the black armor-clad man standing before you. Or the shape of the visible lower half of his face. Or even, if you look closely, the glint of golden-hued eyes under the shadow of that visor.

The man--a god, actually, an ancient, mad god who's been sealed away for countless aeons--carries an ominous-looking sword, as black as dried blood, and seems to be searching for something. Should he notice you, or if you otherwise make your presence known, he has but one question for you:

"Where is he? Where is Ryner?"

... That voice is uncannily like Sion's, as well.

Xehanort | Kingdom Hearts

Quite frankly Xehanort has taken turning up on this world a whole lot better than he otherwise might have without spending a fair bit of time world-hopping on an interdimensional Void Train. That it came with a friendly pet, which he then used to catch a second friendly pet, was a remarkable bonus.

It was a welcome distraction from the vast troubles and revelations that had come with said previous journey, and so the young scientist has defaulted back to ...science. And study. Accompanied by a mudbray and a carvanha, he wanders on foot, a rather suspiciously modern-looking tablet in one hand, pokedex in the other, scouring the area for any pokemon he hasn't yet seen.

Which is frankly, a whole lot of them. Honestly, a Scientist, walking around in obvious Scientist gear that looks pretty much the same even on this world, isn't THAT unusual, except aren't they usually in labs? And this one's awfully young, perhaps twenty at the most.

"Keep watch," he tells the two pokemon with him. "I'd like at least three avians today if possible." Every day was a goal: document a certain number and a certain type. How much the mudbray and carvanha actually understand, he has no idea, but they do seem to be intelligent enough to promptly scan the area as he was, the mudbray with perked ears and questing nose.

The fish can only look about.

If there's an interesting pokemon ... or an interesting person ... or a bird-type nearby, all three are going to gradually gravitate towards it. He's looking for birds, but darkness is an inevitable lure he can't resist too.

Re: Xehanort | Kingdom Hearts

[Radley is out with his team, four Eevees, a Skitty, and an egg, when he comes across Xehanort. He watches the guy and his Pokemon for a moment, trying to determine what they're up to, and finally approaches.]

Hi there. Can we help you with anything?

[There may be cynicism sensed emanating from Radley, and bottled-up pain, but actual darkness? Probably not, at least not in greater quantities than from the average person. Radley is a kind person at heart, even though he enjoys money and power.]

[Because, once again, Shiro has opened his bedroom door, expecting to step into the hallway, and promptly found himself somewhere else entirely. Which is always a pain in the backside when you're exiting your bedroom in your pajamas. It's embarrassing, for one. For another, being dumped into the wilderness from the doorway of a random Ranger Station is potentially detrimental to your health.]

[Malcolm is not a good-tempered sort. On the one hand, any release from the Facility is a good thing. On the other, as soon as he had stepped out his cell door for breakfast that Friday, he had ended up in a completely different world. And every attempt at figuring out where he is only causes him more confusion than ever. All the roads, the buildings, the doors ... most all of them are transporting him from one location to another, until finally he's so dizzy and angry and bewildered that he's standing in the middle of some unknown road, shaking his fists at the sky and ranting and raving.]

What in tarnation is this?! Is this Sector Security's idea of a joke?! What am I doing here?! I never thought I'd say this, but I'd rather be back in my cell! At least there I knew what was what! I'd know where I was going when a door opened! There wasn't any of this runaround I'm getting here!

[He starts jumping up and down and stamping his feet. If he was wearing a hat, he probably would have thrown it on the ground.]

I'll get whoever's doing this! I swear I'll get them! Maybe I'm not as powerful as I once was, but I'm still no pushover! You hear that, Lawton?! Barbara?! ... Radley?!

[Suddenly there is a man. No fanfare or lights or sounds. Just between one moment and the next, a man. He's wearing very strange armor that leaves much of his chest and all of his midriff bare. Don't question the armored thong; it just is. He's also very confused and... maybe even a little fearful? He hides it well, but there's a slight widening of the eyes, and a hard swallow that bobs his throat.

After that he turns in a circle, reaches for a holster--empty-- and then promptly puts his back to the nearest wall with enough force to be heard. His voice is slow and even, but there's a faint flicker of red around the angry looking brand on his stomach.]

What is this place? Where am I?

Because even giant hellhounds are puppies (Possible CWs: body horror/demon transformation, oblique mentions of cannibalism, so much self-loathing, maybe his willingness to sacrifice his life)
[Who knows what startled him badly enough to cause the change? The result is the same: a flash of red and white light and a three headed hell-hound that's easily 12 feet at the shoulder standing where a red haired man in weird armor was the moment before. There's a triphonic whine and then Lupa starts backing away from people, heads low, and belly almost to the ground.

Only to be lovingly tackled by the Houndoom who's taken to following him around, as she uses her giant-for-Houndoom size to cover him with puppy kisses and reassuring barks. It certainly brings him out of his own head, if nothing else.]

Thank you... but I must leave; I'm not safe to be near--

[Her barks in reply pretty clearly translate to 'I know and don't care, silly. I love you!']

Puppy Pile [Possible CWs: Hopefully none!]
[At some point, other canine pokemon start appearing out of nowhere and following Lupa around. They're all more normal-sized, compared to the alpha giant Houndoom, and all very happy and very much eager to play with the man they see as their new trainer.

So that's how Lupa ends up with Houndoom in his lap, a few Growlithe, Fennekin and Vulpix snuggled up against his sides for pets, and a whole pack of Yamper, Electrike Rockruff, Lillipup, Poochyena, Zorua, and Snubbull playing fetch with pokeballs that he obligingly throws whenever they proudly bring them back.

There's even a Smeargle painting portraits of a Furfrou, while a Riolu and an Absol are clearly acting as guards of the whole entourage. (More for Lupa's peace of mind than any real worries of their own.) And, well, the Hisuan Zorua and Nicket are probably up to mischief, but seems like they're keeping it lighthearted not to spoil the mood?

There's even snacks! Berries (and Berries) of all kinds gathered from who knows where, and a whole crate of MooMoo milk ready to top off any of the dishes or Lupa's glass whenever they get low. An Alolan Vulpix seems to be manning the snacks, and keeping the milk nice and frosty cold.

Lupa is even smiling a little, and will take a moment from being the designated ball thrower to gesture people closer.]

You are welcome. They seem to enjoy company.

Alright, this isn't the first time FBI Agent Fox Mulder has ended up in a weird situation, but this was pretty weird.

The last thing he remembers before waking up was him nursing a bottle of orange juice spiked with a cheap vodka that could have passed for rubbing alcohol. In fact, thinking back on it now he wondered if he hadn't accidentally used rubbing alcohol instead of vodka this time. It was an easy mistake, and the case he had been on was weird to boot.

Either way, he was more than disoriented when he woke up. Thankfully, it seems as though his past self was smart enough to pass out with his clothes and sunglasses on, so that was one less thing he had to worry about. The biggest thing he was worried about was that he wasn't getting any cell service on his phone. Which, to be fair, looking at the make of the damn thing, it was surprising that it still even worked at all. It looked more like a bad prop than an actual working cell phone used by the FBI.

"SCULLY?!" He continues to shout, knowing full well that most likely his friend and partner, Dana Scully, is no where to be found near him. He had woken up in the middle of the road after all. Scully wouldn't be caught dead hungover, sunburnt in the middle of the road, "SCULLY WHERE ARE YOU?"

The poor man lumbers about, really looking in need of a glass of water and some ibuprofen. Maybe some sunscreen. Yikes.

[Armin has lived through several of their weird weekends. And yet this time, the world manages to present him with an entirely novel experience: his gear is back.

It's strange, really. He's been here for years, and even while others had regained their gear, his had always remained absent. And honestly, Armin had never cared about that. He hadn't been any good at using the 3DM gear, and he had never developed the taste for it like Jean or Connie had. For them, the gear had even been fun at times; for him, it was just a tool.

So, at first, Armin had completely ignored his gear turning up after all these years. He has better things to do.

But. Then the curiosity sets in.

It's just... he was never any good at it, but would he still be able to use it at all? Was it the sort of skill you lost or time, or was it like learning to read -- no matter how long you went between books, you always still knew exactly how?

And damnit, Armin has never been good at denying his own curiosity.

So, eventually, he sets out with his gear to the Berry Forest. The trees there should be perfect for a little practise and, well, it should be quiet right? Nobody to watch him fumble around with this stuff.

[ Kilani is uneasy as he finds himself in this new world, and the various sights and sounds and smells of Goldenrod City are far too much for him to really process. He spends much of the day avoiding other people as a result, even though the 500-strong horde of Milcery following him everywhere makes it kind of hard for him to blend in.

Yes, you heard that right. If you're in Goldenrod during the evening hours, you might see a throng of Milcery hovering around, with a very apathetic looking drow crowdsurfing among them. ]

[ If you are not in Goldenrod, a video eventually hits the network once Kilani stops somewhere, nonchalantly popping some candies into his mouth like popcorn as he sits in an alley somewhere, with a Milcery sitting in the center of a strange arcane ritual circle drawn in chalk. A crowd of fellow Milcery from before watches intently.

There's a strange glow. The circle lights up and the Milcery ascends into the air, yipping a bit as it twirls about. Looks like something might happen? ]

Good sign it’s one of those “weird weekends”: Levels of sound and smell that Grant has come to think of as “normal” and “not too bad” are suddenly a lot More, if not outright unmanageable.

Another good sign it’s a weird weekend is when Grant heads for the kitchen and instead ends up… somewhere else?? Where is he. Could be in someone else’s house, could be outside. He is still wearing his Swinub slippers, and it is by pure luck that he was holding his Gear when The Thing Happened.

…On the bright side, after a few of these, he just… stops for a moment, taking in his new surroundings, and grimaces. “Great-- great. Okay. This again, I guess.”

Today is definitely a weird few days, and Geddoe for one is doing his level best to ignore it.

The problem is, for some reason, he seems to keep attracting the attention of electric-type Pokémon. The first few weren't so bad, but as time went on more and more showed up and none of them seemed inclined to leave. Seeing as this rather quickly made it difficult to enjoy sitting down for a drink, Geddoe's currently wandering around one of the routes outside Goldenrod in hopes of ditching his entourage.

Which is about when someone else quite literally appears out of nowhere a short distance in front of him.

For Karako, this weekend is in many ways not that different, at least other than the ways it makes everyone around him extremely different.

On the other hand, it is extremely different. Cosmetically, the difference is in the black claws and grey tongue and yellow eyes, in the grey, tough, chitinous skin, in the addition of two disproportionately massive horns, painted in stripes, rising from his wiry mess of black hair.

But from his perspective, he gets his knives back. His body temperature drops dramatically, rendering his small body cool to the touch. He is no longer soft and fragile, no longer runs himself out of energy after only a few hours.

And soda pop is once again intoxicatingly sweet, which in Karako's point of view makes everything better. For now, at least, life is pretty motherfuckin' good.

He's so happy, you'd really think he'd be someplace more exciting than... uh. The Violet City Pokemart.

Any other outside observer might think the same. What would a kid with unfettered access to the world be doing in the candy aisle? Well, goes to show what they know about trolls. And Dave might have some serious holes in his knowledge of the world but he sure as fuck knew trolls and especially Juggalos.

The real question is why would a god tier man in full possession of his time travel abilities be wasting his time in a mart. And that answer is that Elidibus just can't Create a hot pocket the way they're intended. He makes them too... good? Like the bread is too real, and the cheese isn't nearly plastic-y enough.

Anyway that's his alibi.
