Which is easily solved when Emet removes his hand from Grani, and lifts his robes to free whatever it is th--]
Oh, for the love of--have you no shame?
[His voice booms down at him, not because he's yelling, but merely because of his sheer size amplifying his voice. Grani glances to Riz with beady white eyes, its face expressionless as it takes his measure.]
no subject
Something rustles the heavy fabric hanging all around him, allowing some light to pass through and finally, Riz has an idea of where he has to go to get out of this awkward position. Which, unfortunately, also means confronting the owner of those legs, but it's not like he can avoid that. Like, what is his alternative? Live here forever? No, thank you.
Riz quickly dashes towards freedom and-- oh no. He recognises that voice. It might be much much louder now, but there is a certain quality of assholeness about it that remains unchanged.
Like he needed any further proof that this world just absolutely hates him.]
Y-yeah, well, I didn't exactly want to be underneath there either.
[He is flustered as he yells his answer up at Emet-Selch, his ears flat against his head. And damnit, he always needs to crane his neck to look at this guy, but this is just ridiculous. Why is he so tall? Who fucking allowed that?]
no subject
He releases his robes once Riz is fully free from its circumference, choosing to cross his arms as he stares down at him.]
Was this some sort of teleportation mishap, then? Assuming you are capable of such feats--I've my doubts.
[You know, Riz is fairly tiny anyway, but he's not sure if his newly regained height is what's making it seem like Riz is smaller than he normally is, or if that's simply the case now that he's regained his beastman form. Something he'll silently ponder and potentially ask if he feels the need to sate his curiosity.]
no subject
[Which, for the record, is absolutely not teleporting. Riz is but a humble Rogue and not even an Arcane one at that. He has zero spell slots and he likes it that way. If he needs teleporting he has several very powerful friends.]
no subject
[Unfamiliar as he might be with the whole spell slots and the like, it doesn't matter too much when he can see Riz's soul and how it compares to other mortals. Which is to say, fairly the same save for those of the Source whom are more than half rejoined, thus nearing Emet-Selch's level of completeness and power.]
I can only assume then that this weird weekend's penchant for expanding and contracting itself is what landed you near me—though I am not entirely convinced that it explains why you were under my robes. What with that history of yours.
[Who knows, maybe Riz was going to try to attack him with a similar strategy as he did for that Cornblob! He doesn't know what's going on in that green little head of his, and quite frankly, he's not entirely chomping at the bit to find out.
As they're talking, Grani finally moves, getting closer to Riz, its jagged maw staying only partially open as it huffs a hot breath on him before following it with an inquisitive sniff. Then another. As it does this, it's nudging Riz with its scaled snout, but doesn't seem to have any intent in harming the tiny goblin.
Emet-Selch says nothing, just watches with plain amusement.]

Riz doesn't exactly know what the state of his soul is. It was good enough that they offered him part-time work with his dad's agency, but then again, he's also done all those things Hangman had said people got punished for in hell. But regardless of where it falls, the fact that this guy of all people is taking peeks at it is about as bad as being stripped naked and judged.]
Stop looking at my soul. That-- that's super weird. Extremely weird. Like, do you wanna take a peek at my ass too while you're at it?
[Before Riz can work himself up into a complete froth, suddenly there is hot breath puffing over him --eww dog(??) breath-- and some giant beast with a maw that is absolutely big enough to close around Riz in a single gulp is standing over him, sniffing him like he's some lost cheerio on the ground.
Riz hisses in sheer reflex before darting backwards, trying to put some distance between him and the goddamn goblinmuncher.]
A-and keep your hell beast leashed!
no subject
[But he's quick to move on from that, especially with Grani's notable interest in Riz. He's half tempted to let the beast continue its investigation, let it pursue after that scrambling boy, because it is rather funny and he could use the laugh.
However, as Grani goes to pursue, Emet-Selch holds up his hand and snaps his fingers--the beast dissipating into sparkles of aether that float and fade away as if it was never there to begin with.]
Not very kind of you, Grani merely took an interest, yet you would reject it so... Supposedly you have friends, but I must wonder if that's out of genuine fondness or pity for a creature as wretched as you.
no subject
His ears pin back, but otherwise, he tries not to let it show that Emet hit something of actual concern. He'll just run this over and over and over later in his head while sleep evades him like a normal person, thank you!]
My friends love me! But I doubt an asshole like you would understand much about friendship, to begin with.
no subject
It's funny that Riz would say something that actually strikes Emet-Selch in some sort of way. Less in an insecurity as he did Riz, but more in his sentimentality over friendship.
He wouldn't understand friendship, huh? He has literally ended worlds for it--though not for it alone.]
Oh yes, you've got me. I know absolutely nothing about friendship, not a single thing. 'Tis incredible, that ability to read others you possess. Certainly your bias has never lead you astray with it, hm?
no subject
[Riz's tail is lashing wildly behind him. If only he had his gun. Then he could shoot this guy. But alas.]
no subject
[Uncrossing his arms, he shrugs his shoulders, hands out at his sides, palms skyward. Likewise letting out a sigh.]
Besides, if you are truly so sensitive, it would be prudent for you to refrain from antagonizing a man you are no match for.
[He squats down, resting his forearms on his knees as he watches his tail, his mouth pulling into a smirk. He's got to admit, there's something charming about Riz's type of goblin, not entirely different from those he's familiar, but different enough to appreciate.]
Honestly, you'd do well to keep your anger under control. Such little discipline will be your eventual undoing.
[How he says that little bit of advice isn't quite how he's said most everything else to Riz. There's a decidedly missing bit of condescension in his tone, replaced by what one might name "sincerity". Not that he expects Riz to listen, nor assume anything but ill from his words, but being a highly emotional sort himself, he's well aware of the double-edge sword such passion can prove to be.]
no subject
Which means that yes, Emet's bit of advice absolutely does not find its mark. But honestly, at this point Emet could give Riz a warning to get out of the way of a rolling boulder, and Riz'd be feeling the desire to stay in its path out of pure spite.]
You're the one who keeps antagonising me. I'm not the one who keeps starting these little talks.
no subject
[Riz is indeed a little annoying brat, but to be honest, most prove to be by Emet-Selch's measure. For all he said that every mortal is a child to him, he does actually recognize the difference between a mortal child (or teen!) and an adult. The time measurement is nigh inconsequential to someone who can live for nigh eternity, but he knows how much it matters to them--socially and developmentally.]
Let me guess, your world is much like the one I have come from: full of suffering, cruelty, and injustice. And, being as you are, oft do you find yourself at the receiving end of such. By my measure, Goblins seem to suffer universal scrutiny and mistrust, and so you must needs protect yourself, be it through aggression or wariness.
Thus someone such as myself reads as a threat, even if I have no interest in harming you. In truth, I believe you have some measure of potential, and it would be a shame to snuff that out, ephemeral as it may prove to be.
