[The approaching group is announced by a (happy) Houndoom howl. The group itself consists of aforesaid (giant) Houndoom, a bunch of other pokemon puppies and a very confused and tense man in weird armor. His hand keeps going to a mark on his stomach that occasionally glows red, and even the Houndoom's reassuring licks can't help him shake off the concern entirely when it does that.

The man freezes and his hand goes for the empty holster at his hip when he sees the wings, but licking knocks him out of it and he finally approaches.]

Are you... a tuner?

[The Houndoom boofs at his side. Her new trainer is lost and confused and ...sick? she thinks? Also she's pretty sure he's from a place were other people made him fight like Pokemon do, except he didn't want to, and trainers are, well, really fragile!]

[shiningkindness]

[ The voice startles both her and the Woobat, and the bat Pokemon hides behind her wings as she turns to the stranger. She hesitates for a moment, then hearing the concern from the Houndoom does put her a little more at ease.

A little. ]

Um...I-I'm sorry, I...I'm not sure what a "tuner" is...

[papacerberus]

[Lupa considers this, and then nods. He doesn't quite relax, but he seems less ready to jump into attack or defense at any moment.]

I have never seen a transformation that was not connected to being a tuner. I am... glad that you don't have to suffer though.

[He doesn't elaborate on the suffering, but does cock his head to the side.]

How is it that you can transform?

[ She breathes a little easier when he at least doesn't seem ready to attack, though she does worry about at the idea there are people who might suffer when transforming. ]

U-Um...well it's a little complicated. But um...basically it's magic that grows stronger when I'm able to show the quality that I most resonate with.

[papacerberus]

That is very different from the magic I am most familiar with. What is your resonate quality? Calm?

[She seemed to help the Woobat calm down at least.]

[shiningkindness]

Um... [ She glances away shyly, tucking some hair behind her ear. ] It's actually...Kindness.

[papacerberus]

Kindness...

[He says it slowly, like he's trying out a new word almost.]

That word feels like my dreams did. I don't believe there was kindness in the Junkyard.

[A pause.] At least, not until right before the end. Can you tell me more about kindness?

[shiningkindness]

Oh, um... [ The question does throw her off a little bit. She's never had to really define it before. ]

Well, um...kindness is when you...take care or look after others. Not for any kind of personal gain, but just because they need help or a friendly ear. It's about giving and doing things for other people.

[papacerberus]

[He smiles! Kindness is a wonderful thing!]

Kindness is good; I want to train and become skilled at it. [A pause.] Does caring for and helping comrades also count as kindness?

[shiningkindness]

Oh yes! Caring and helping your friends can certainly be considered kind. Especially if they seem to be having a tough time, and you're there for them even if they might have a hard time asking for help.

But kindness can also just be helping and caring for people you might not even know. Maybe not quite to the same extent that you might give to your friends. But everyone deserves a little kindness.
