[ glad he's on the same page! excuse him as he just-- sparkly poof transforms into a dragon. ]

Mount when ready!

[ You don't have to tell him twice. He mounts Corrin like an expert. ]

Hah, you hardly weigh a thing. All right, then. Up we go!

[ Corrin spreads his wings and climbs up to the sky after a little canter - Byleth will notice floating water droplets and glowing blue light emitting from him as he flies. it's not the first time he's been up in the air like this here since Pokémon travel is pretty normal, but he hasn't been able to feel the air beneath his wings in ... almost half a year! it's exhilarating! Corrin makes a pleased roar announcing his presence to the other Pokémon - he can't help it! ]

I missed this! I forgot how amazing this feels!

[ Byleth can't even help the subdued 'wooooo!' that comes out as they take off into the sky. This is entirely unlike riding a wyvern. He has no control over where Corrin goes, and there's certainly no harness or riding gear. It's a complete rush. ]

This is great!

[ he is elated to hear Byleth enjoying himself so much - he takes him higher and higher, adoring the feeling of the air travelling under his wings. gods, he's missed this. when the ocean comes into view, an idea springs to mind - something which he knew had the potential to be fun and very safe, due to his affiliation with water magic. ]

Glad you think so! Hang on, now. It's gonna get even better!

[ Corrin descends down to the ocean where he skims the surface in a glide, gathering momentum to maintain a decent speed. Byleth will notice that the dragon begins to glow blue as he activates his water magic, and the ocean begins to rise and curtain around the two of them as they fly. in the water surrounding them, fish are shown swimming past them in the elevated waves - just a mere touch away! ]

[ Well this is unlike anything he's ever experienced. He's a bit in awe, quiet as they fly through the tunnel of water. He holds on tight, for the lack of any saddle or riding gear, but Corrin makes it fairly easy, and he's not as broad as a Wyvern, easier to wrap his legs around. ]

You're incredible!

[ Corrin figured that using his magic to take Byleth through a fish tunnel was bound to impress him! it was a bit of an improvised trick and nothing he had tried before, but he was so incredibly pleased with the results. although he was facing forwards in flight, he could still see just how incredible the transparent, deep blue looked against the light, with impressions of colourful fish swimming past in the shadows. he wishes magic surges happened like this more often, he never had the chance to practise his water magic so much for fun back in Nohr. Corrin felt beyond elated to be able to give Byleth a ride like this.

eventually he takes off out of the water again, the droplets in the light creating a rainbow mist. the dragon prince has impressed even himself at how lovely his water play looks! he glides down to the beach and touches down in the sand with grace, allowing Byleth a breather before he transforms back into a human again. some of the salt water had gotten into his dusty blonde hair which he combs back with his hand, beaming with a bright smile. ]

Whew! I can't believe how fun that was! How are you feeling? Are you okay?

[ he had to check that the professor wasn't overwhelmed or dizzy. Corrin was already entertaining the idea of taking him on another flight to catch the sunset. ]

[ It's entirely unlike anything he has ever experienced. He's absolutely dazzled by the whole experience, and by the time he's back on his own two feet, he's practically beaming. ]

Better than okay! That was unbelievable. Oh, I wish we could do that all the time.

[ wow ... does Byleth ever look lovely when he smiles. ] Your smile looks amazing. I really wish I could see it more often. [ Corrin glances up at the splashes of pink and blue dipping into twilight hours in the milky sky. what a beautiful sunset ... the day was just passing by so quickly, wasn't it? ]

If you want, I'm happy to give you a ride home. The place you share with Dimitri and all of your friends isn't too far from mine. I have a feeling that the sunset will look pretty nice from high up. But don't worry if you're finished for the time being.

Ah... [ Excuse him, that gets him a little bashful. He clears his throat. ]

Oh! Would you mind? I'd really love that. As long as you're not too tired out that is.

Heh, it'll take a lot more than one flight to tire out this dragon! So, let's get started! Before we lose this beautiful sky above us.

[ Corrin crouches down and looks back over his shoulder with a smile, still in his human form though...? it appears if he's offering Byleth a piggyback. which he is! ]

Hop on!

You won't hear any argument from me.

[ He gladly climbs back on. ]

Off we go!

We're going up! Flying hiiiigh!

[ uh, no they aren't! they're still on the sand. Corrin hikes Byleth up that little bit higher on his back and strides down the beach, giggling incessantly - he felt a childish joy in getting to give a piggyback again like this. plus he couldn't stop laughing at himself over the "prank" he is currently pulling. ]

Hahaha! We're flying through the sky! Whoa, look at those clouds! [ dorks. they are dorks. he'll turn into a dragon soon, but sometimes a piggyback on the beach is too good an opportunity to pass up so soon. ]

[ Ah, that actually earns an awkward little laugh. It's kind of wheezy and strange. Clearly he doesn't do it often, but it's clear from the smile on his face that he found it funny. ]

[ oh, that's a nice sounding laugh! he wants another one! what if he

[ Oh. Oh dear. His legs kick out unbidden and he nearly topples off of Corrin. ]

Ah?!

[ It's an awkward kind of broken yelp. ]

[ he transforms back into a dragon again - poof! and cranes his long neck back a bit with a slight tilt of his head. ]

Have you never been tickled before? It’s like, a playful thing to do and, um ...

Sorry if I crossed any boundaries. I just thought it would make you laugh.

Oh- I... no I have not. It's fine! It just surprised me is all.

Ah! I am glad to hear that. I would've hated to make you feel uncomfortable. I guess I'm just quite playful at times.

[ with Byleth comfortably seated on his back once again, the dragon elegantly takes off and gallops through the sky to climb to a comfortable height for them both. the sunset skyline looks amazing with vibrant colours streaking as far as the eye can see - the yellow glowing sun guiding the gradient that blends the pinks into purples and blues. stars are becoming more and more visible the higher they climb, and Corrin can only hope Byleth enjoys it just as much as he does. ]

It's so nice being able to do something like this. To be honest, back home, I never had the time to just ... enjoy being a dragon. Too much war going on. Not enough play. Maybe that's why I like playing so much ...

Oh yes, not at all. Don't worry about it.

I know what you mean. I used to feel like I'm suited for war, but being here has shown me there are other things. Nicer things.

"Nicer things" couldn't be more true. Being able to do things like this! It's so peaceful ... I could have only ever dreamed of being somewhere like this.

Heh. Good thing about play is that you're never too old to learn! One of my retainers from home, Gunter, was an old knight. Very old. Don't tell him I said that, heehee! But although he was an incredibly serious guy, he learned to play with me to help me feel at ease after my ... um, kidnapping. He tore apart the whip that the King used on me and made it into a ball to play with me ... and it ... helped a lot.

I guess play is just part of who I am now. It makes life so much happier.

Ah, yeah. My past ... isn't exactly a fairytale.

[ he stretches his wings out to initiate a nice glide while heading towards civilisation again. ]

But I found that play helped a lot. When I was held in captivity, I wasn't completely alone, thankfully. The kingdom's royal children became like siblings to me and would visit often. We'd play all kinds of games together, like hide and seek, ball games, tickle fights, card games, that sort of thing.

Wow... you clearly became a kind person regardless.

[ He thinks on that for a minute. ]
