I don't need to hide who I am here. Even if there is someone I might know, they all know who I am now so...]

-Marik. I just arrived the other day and I'm currently traveling along Route 29.

I've never seen so much green before! The grass is so soft and the way the wind blows through the trees... It's all so wonderful.

[I never thought I'd get to experience any of this.. Domino City had pockets of greenery here and there but still place is so different.]

I'm afraid I'm still not 100% certain on how things work here but I've got the jidst of it. The music is going to take some getting used to, that's for sure. Is there some speaker system it's coming from...?

[Another pause as he debates whether or not to ask the question that pops into his head.]

Hn... Is there another way to catch pokemon? Other than fighting and weakening them, I mean. It seems... kind of cruel to beat the poor thing up and then stuff it into a pokeball. I'm honestly just used to handling cards, not live animals.

[He mutters to himself]

It's still strange to think that these are real creatures and not just holograms...

I think so. I've only seem them in one area in this region so far, and even then there weren't too many of them.

[Chenzira utters a soft sound and sheepishly averts his gaze. Oh, he got a compliment...]

Hmm... I wonder what determines if a pokemon is rare or not. Do you know if the pokedex entries hold any return behind their origins or is that just someone's speculation?

[He isn't sure if he should say that makes Chenzira special because on the one hand, it might make him feel good. On the other, it could make him more sad than he already seems to be, in realizing he's one of the few of his kind.

If the rest of his species is anything like him, it might just be because they're reclusive.

Um...I think there are people who do research on the Pokemon, so the entries do have some merit? But it is also based on how much people are able to observe about them as well.

[ So it is possible that maybe people just had a difficult time finding some Pokemon versus others. ]

I see... That makes sense. Then I wonder how recent the research is?

Now that I think about it, it would be interesting to research them...

I'm not entirely sure of that, to be honest. I think we can help with some of it, but I don't know how much new information people like us have been able to provide.

But I agree, I think getting to study and learn more about them would be kind of fun. I know there's a research center for marine Pokemon on one of the islands I visited one time.

Hmm. To be honest, I'm not really sure. There are probably individual researchers, but I don't know if there's anything like a research center specifically for Ghost Pokemon.

Oh, but there is a research lab in a place called the Ruins of Alph in Violet City. That's more for archaeology than the Ghost Pokemon themselves, I think, but that might be a place to start? The Ruins are actually where I saw some Yamasks in the wild.
