The Festival of Wishes!

Summary: It's time to celebrate the Festival of Wishes!
Pewter City is one of those towns that doesn't draw a lot of attention. It's nice and has that museum, but it never seems to be the scene of much excitement.
But today, that's different. Because today, Pewter City has been doffed up to the nines, with visitors arriving from everywhere to celebrate the Festival of Wishes. The skies are crowded with uBIRDs flying in people from all over Johto and Kanto. The streets are filled with cheerful noises and many in the crowd have come in their finest yukata and kimono, adding splashes of colour to what might otherwise be a drab crowd. And if you'd like to try out one of these beautiful garments yourself, there are plenty of nearby shops offering rentals for the visiting crowds.
Stalls have gone up all over town, most hawking various forms of street food: Takoyaki, Yakisoba, Kaarage and many others! And for those looking to satisfy a sweet tooth, there's plenty of shaved ice, chocolate-covered bananas and Taiyaki to go around. Hopefully, you brought an empty stomach, because it would be a shame to miss out on all these yummy goodies.
But it isn't just food stalls that dot the streets. A wide variety of festival games are also available. From shooting galleries to ring toss to small lottery games -- whatever you might be in the mood for can be found here. Stuffed animals and sweets are the most common prizes to be won, but who knows, perhaps if you get very lucky, you might even win an Evolution Stone.
And, of course, no festival would be complete without a Test of Courage. Are you brave? Is fear something you only know from the dictionary? Then why not prove it? Why not enter Pewter City most haunted dwelling (usually just an office building) and show your mettle to your friends or even that special someone? Who knows, you might even earn a kiss if you protect them from the many horrors that dwell within (AKA, volunteers in costumes, a few ghost pokemon, and so many 'creepy' paper mache props)
There are also various stalls dedicated to traditional arts and crafts. From Calligraphy to Origami, if you have an interest in these matters, you'd do well to check them out. And you can do more than just buy some nice decorative pieces for your home, or a cute little origami figure of your favourite pokemon partner; many of the stalls also offer visitors the chance to try their own hand at these traditional skills. Are you the type of person who is always looking to learn a new skill? Or have you perhaps mastered these skills already and do you want to show off? Why not come over here and spend some time?
(Who knows, you might even impress someone special!)
And once night has fully fallen, the skies will light up, not just with the light of the stars and the moon, but with the many bright colours of fireworks! If you aren't completely tired out yet from all the festival games, why not sit down, relax, (maybe drink a beer if you are old enough) and enjoy the beautiful spectacle happening above you.

But all of that cheer doesn't really answer the big question -- what is the Festival of Wishes?
Keen eyes (and not so keen eyes, really, they are everywhere) will be able to spot various decorations shaped like the pokemon Jirachi dotting the stalls everywhere. From small plush toys to folded origami figures, Jirachi's cheerful face can be found everywhere. There even is a theatre performance explaining the whole tale, but for those too busy stuffing their faces to partake in (ugh) culture, it all comes down to this: Jirachi is the Wish Pokemon. During the festival, people write down their wishes, hoping that Jirachi might fulfil them.
Of course, there is never a guarantee Jirachi will be around. It's been known to sleep a lot. But why not give it a try? It can't hurt, right?

he takes his time with putting on the kimono, not out of any malice, but because... he doesn't know how. several minutes pass by before he even steps out, kimono clearly askew and open a little too much. it was just uncomfortable for the angel, and that was saying something. ]

even if his boyfriend is hot as hell, he won't ogle. okay he's going to ogle. just a little. as a treat.he helps the angel out of the garment and ........................ lingers. just a bit! he's allowed, it's fine. )I can fix it up no problem. My big brother taught me how to do this. ( Ryoma, he means, not Xander. hah, Xander wouldn't have a clue and would probably end up in a worse state than Sandalphon. ) ... I've never gotten to put an outfit like this on another person before. Since I was stolen from Hoshido, I never got to take part in its traditions. Big brother Ryoma was kind enough to help me wear a kimono for the first time once we were reunited after my release. Took lots of practise before I could wear it myself. Always kind of stung that I missed out on so much being held captive in the tower ...
( ah, he's getting distracted. Corrin pushes out a laugh to stir his focus back. ) Forgive me. I seem to have gone off on a tangent there. I guess I'm just ... ( a beat, ) ... really missing my family.
( Sandalphon looks pretty as a present, now. he guides him to the mirror to show him how the garment looks while fitted properly. Corrin's eyes twinkle when he gazes in the mirror and he smiles adoringly. )
You look so handsome. ( he brushes his hands across the fabric to catch any stray bits of debris. ) It's really humbling, getting to share this part of my home with you. ( just look at him, Sandy. he's so hopeful! it's clear as daylight that he is masking his homesickness - or rather, how much he misses his siblings, but this exchange has elated him for miles. )
There are others to try still, if you want, but ... really, this one looks great on you.

he knows he shouldn't be jealous of corrin's experience. he knows, and yet, he knows the stab of jealousy when he feels it. he doesn't want to think on it now, especially because corrin genuinely does miss his family. it was understandable. but he does want to do better by him about that. but where to start, is the question. ]
There's nothing wrong in missing your family. You deserve to want to be with them, given how much time was stolen from you. [ he deserved that, at least.
but his attention was now dragged to the kimono, and he smiles at how he looks. it was stunning, to say the least. sandalphon appreciated the fact that he was good looking enough to wear this kind of kimono, and he's glad corrin appreciated it just as much as he did. ]
I'm pleased for you to share your culture with me, as well. I may not know all the ins and outs, but as long as you lead the way, I'll be content. [ he smiles. ] I do want to try more, if you don't mind.

Heh, I'm glad that's your answer. All the more fun of seeing just how many things you look lovely in. Which is all of them, but, it makes for a nice show for me. ( he giggles and teases, with a kiss to his cheek, preparing to unfurl him from the kimono he has on, before repeating the same process all over again with another. )

Oooo ... this is a nice colour.
( it's a navy blue kimono that Corrin is applying to Sandalphon now, with miscellaneous light blue and brown accents. he can already tell that this is his own favourite of all the garments that his partner has tried today. finishing up, he steps to his knees and looks in the mirror with him. )
